Just putting my own experience out there in hopes that no one else will get scammed out of $2600 like I was. For simple work Im sure Midas is fine but dont let them do anything that requires a mechanic to actually care about what they are doing to your car. I let them perform a tuneup on my engine and some work on my exhaust. Within the first 5 minutes of picking up my car and driving home my car was spewing coolant all over the ground. My car overheated and I was barely able to make it back to the shop where Michael the owner and I ended up pushing my car into one of his garages. He gave me a ride home which I will admit is the only descent thing hes done during this whole experience. I also had to point out that the exhaust work I originally requested was not completed. The next day he tells me one of his mechanics forgot to screw the radiator cap on correctly; which made no since to me, I asked for a tune up and some repairs to the driver side exhaust. There was no reason whats so ever for them to touch my radiator cap.He said he replaced the cap and and all should be good to go. Well 2 weeks later Im on the 202 merging on to the 101 and my engine seizes. I immediately had my car towed to another mechanic to verify Midass work. I called Michael to confront him about this situation and he informs me my car originally had vapor lock because of the radiator cap they failed to secure correctly. The mechanic I had my car towed to confirm this, he also advised me the vapor lock caused one of my cylinders to freeze up which subsequently caused alot of pressure on my timing belt which then caused a tensioner bolt to snap and my pistons to knock and my valves to bend. You know what that means right? I have a Nissan and that means my whole engine went bye bye. I had a Nissan dealership check the bolt and confirmed another component failure caused the bolt to snap. Michael tried to claim the bolt was damaged or bent but the bolt had a clean break and it was confirmed it was not bent or rusted prior to this incident. So I currently have a complaint filed with corporate and I have yet to hear from anyone, they charged me $150 and hour for labor with inexperienced mechanics working on my vehicle. Yeap $2600 later and Im staring at an inoperable vehicle in my drive way. Its called Midas Mufflers for a reason, dont let them near any other part of your car, if they try.... get as far away from them as possible. You have been warned.

I bought my car and when it was time to get the tires rotated and oil change, I saw a coupon in the money mailer and thought Id use it. I got my oil changed and tires rotated no problem. A couple months later when I went to get my oil changed again, my boyfriend took my car into a different place because he noticed my car was shaking at certain speeds. They need my wheel lock key to take my tires off and noticed it was missing. I do not lose stuff like this, especially when it comes to my car. My boyfriend and I went into midas to ask them for it back and the employees were very friendly and said I had a unique key and it wasnt the standard for my vehicle. They said the manager usually keeps the wheel lock keys with them and to come back next week when he is back from vacation. The next week I called before going down there to talk to the manager and he was nothing but rude and had total lack of concern. I explained to him that that was the only time I got my tires rotated and the key was not put back. I also told him that my mechanic was going to charge me $100 to break them off. He said I was stupid for paying that much. He did not listen when I told him it was not a standard key and I couldnt purchase it at a parts store. He said he there was nothing he could do. The managers name is Mike. He does not care about the customer, only the money. I advise to stay away from this place. Ive never felt such a lack of customer service, from the MANAGER! His employees, however, were very friendly and helpful.

DO NOT GO TO THIS MIDAS LOCATION!!!! I had a horrible experiences dealing with Mike. He quoted the price to have my 5 engine mounts replaced at about $1100 I am in the process of paying. (already partially payed $200 on my credit card the other $900 was going on my Midas card) he says opps forgot to add the other mount on there. (Something I was told was 69.95 a piece) He hands me the bill to the midas card which now says $1300 (meaning $1500 total for the services). I dispute this with him and argue about what has just happened. He is magically able to take off $200 crediting back my credit card ($1300 bill at this point) I was not happy about this but accepted anyway and left. As soon as I leave my car starts shaking.. I immediately take to another Midas location who I explain the situation to and ask for a quote of what they would have charged for this fix. I am quoted at $950ish. I take the quote back to Mike and ask him to explain such a large difference. He is again magically able to change the bill to the $1100 originally quoted price. I brought my car the next day to the other location as it was still shaking. Turns out this part he added on at the last minute during check out, WASN"T EVEN INSTALLED IN MY CAR!!! The other location was awesome; They completely fixed all the parts and issues Mike had caused and got my car working perfectly again, no engine shaking. Never again will I bring my car to the Main and Val Vista location.

This location is rude the store manager Mike is a disrespectful and has no customer service. He will not help you resolve any issue even if it is there fault and then will turn around and call you a lier. My suggestion to anyone out there if you go to this location make sure you check what they put on service sticker is correct before you leave. Cause this information does get reported to car fax and can screw you over when you try to sell or trade in you vehicle later I got an oil change my title was a class a title they put on my sticker that my car had 156000 miles when it only has 136000 miles because of this my family is loosing a thousand dollars on our vehicle because there is no way to tell now that this was changed or altered somewhere down the line I called midas the day after my oil change and asked them how I was able to drive 20000 more miles before another oil change and he said it was a mistake never once did he tell us this would be reported to car fax and I would have issues and now they have all the proof and Mike is just unprofessional if you have had this issue there you should call corporate cause they will help
