I called Pennington Locksmith after reviewing several choices online. I talked with Jill and gave her the problem with my 1996 XJS Jag Convertible security alarm going off and not shutting off using the factory remote. I had to disconnect the battery cable to shut the alarm noise off. She suggested I come to their Gilbert office and check the remote transmitter against their special remote module to see if my remote is sending a signal to the car. Since I just replaced the battery in the remote, I thought that was an excellent trouble shooting idea. When I arrived she remembered my call and we proceeded to test my remote. Well guess what, it was not transmitting a signal at all. I opened my remote and checked the battery position and cleaned out the old battery acid inside the unit. Jill advised me the remote has had some do it yourself adjusting and the shims shifted enough to prohibit contact with the remote push button. After carefully cleaning and adjusting the remote, I put it back together and we tested it again with her remote module. Guess what, it showed a transmission and appeared to be fixed. Jill did not charge me anything and asked me to call her back once I got home to the car and tested it. I got home and reconnected the battery cable and the alarm went off as usual. However, I pushed the remote button and it stopped. Thank you Jill for your help at no charge. You are a great service to this community. I will always recommend using Pennington Locksmith without any hesitation!!!

I gave Pennington a 3/5 "Its Okay" because 4/5 "Liked it" just didnt happen. I was disappointed in my experience after all the great reviews I read (I specifically drove further then my closest locksmith just because of the reviews). The biggest reason my experience was not great was the lack of communication. I dropped off a job and gave general instruction but asked that the locksmith please call me when he gets in and before he began the work so I could get clarification. The next call I got was an hour after I was told it would be done saying that it was ready for pickup. When I asked for the locksmith again on the clarification I was told he was out again (same thing when I picked up). The work they did was good but the lack of communication required me to reach out to another locksmith, which in a quick 3 minute phone call had my questions resolved (something the receptionist at Pennington wasnt knowledgeable on). Overall, I would not say steer clear of Pennington and maybe I caught them on a bad day. But based on my experience if you are looking for something that requires communication you may want to proceed with caution.

So, last Saturday, I had a little incident where a smog check tech broke the key off in the ignition of my favorite toy - my 1978 Porsche 911. It was cause for concern. Now, they would have paid for it. But I would have caused the young guy some paperwork and probably a black mark on his record. And besides, who has owned the car for 20 years, and never had a spare key made? THIS guy. Me. I was still able to start the car. And later, I got the broken bit out. I Googled "Gilbert AZ Locksmith" this morning, and Pennington Locksmith popped up. I called him - and lo, he had the key blank in stock. A five minute drive and three minutes of work later, I had a working key for my car. And this time, I got a SPARE. Bottom line: Friendly service, family owned business, competent work even when its a challenge (the key was broken, twisted and worn), and prices which were less than if Id just bought a blank online. Theyre our locksmith now. Thanks, guys!

Honest, trustworthy, superb service, dependable: best in the business!! Highly recommendable!!! Our story: We had an issue with a Tabernacle lock in our Church: it wouldnt open. Mike came immediately and was able to get it open. When we sent the door back to the original manufacturer to get the lock fixed, but the same thing happened after a few weeks. Mike came again and helped us out. We sent the door back again to the manufacturer, and when we got it back this time we asked Mike to assess the "fixes" they put in place. Mikes assessment was right on target, and an on-site engineer at the church agreed with him. After we asked Mike, he took on the job to redesign the entire mechanical locking structure to ensure it would not break again. He did all of this within a week, with superb workmanship. He came by to install it and thanks to Mike we were now ready for Easter without being concerned that the Tabernacle would fail during Mass.

Do not use this company! After calling to have my home rekeyed and possibly fixing broken locks I scheduled an appointment. I discussed my situation with the locksmith at length. Prior to coming out to the house he stated that he could rekey the locks in broken handles then I could just replace parts inside. Finally the technician arrived 20 minutes late, was able to change the working locks and provided only 2 keys, extras cost $3 each. When he pulled apart the broken locks he then told me that I would not be able to fix the broken handles but could still rekey the lock even though there would be no point. I choose not to do it, I was still charged half of the price of a rekey ($8). He did this to two of my locks. When I disputed the charges he stated "time is money" and would not take the charges off. As if the $64 wasnt enough for him to show up.

PLEASE NOTE: I must retract my previous criticism of this company that was posted this morning. The owner just called me back and spent about 20 minutes going through what was likely causing the issue I was having with the lock and handle he worked on for me on 8/31/16. He did an excellent job of explaining it and I am convinced he is correct and the issues we are having are NOT his fault. We do have some issues, but they are separate from the lock and handle replaced. He gave me several suggestions as to how I might address these issue. I was very frustrated this morning and felt they could have handled my complaint better. However, the owner more than made up for it with the effort he made to satisfy me when he called back. I will continue to use this company for my locksmith needs. I apologize for my emotional response this morning.

Not paying attention to business hours, I called on a Sunday afternoon about replacing a broken key Fob. Even though they were closed they took my call, answered my questions, provided me a quote (that smoked the dealership prices), informed me about a coupon that was available and ordered my part...when they were closed! Overall this was one of the most positive customer services experiences I have had with any company. They called back when they said they would, they charged me what they said they would and they provided exactly the service I had asked for. I will definitely be using them for all my Locksmith needs in the future and recommend you do the same.

Upfront pricing - no games. I made multiple calls and kept hearing the same thing - service call charges, starting price to rekey a lock, but when our technician comes out he can give you the final cost. Hum! Pennington also answered their own phone - many of the calls were answered by some sort of answering service and then redirected to another locksmith. I was trusting someone into my home and having keys made. I was selective and it paid off. I have no worries that a spare key is floating around someplace. The owner is an ex-police officer and the nicest guy. I would recommend Pennington with 10 stars if possible.
