DONT GO HERE FOR AUTO REPAIRS! I repeat, DONT GO HERE FOR AUTO REPAIRS! After searching high and low for a reputable shop that specializes in AC repair my husband and I made the choice of going to 19th Avenue Garage after reading previous reviews of the business. We were in desperate need of having the repair done (being that its summertime in AZ) and our "backyard mechanic" wasnt able to get us in for quite some time. We scheduled our appointment through, Russ and was assured that with over 20 years of experience they were the "go-to-guys" for our repair. We book the next available appointment and after completing, what we were told was a diagnosis of our car/problem, it was suggested that we replace our compressor as it was detected that the clutch had gone out. We ordered the part the same day of the diagnosis and took the car back in as soon as the part arrived (maybe 4 days later). We spent a total of $660 for the repair ($320 for the part, $340 for labor). Well guess what, less than two weeks later hot air begins to blow intermittently when we turn on the AC. Furious, I call the shop and explain to the owner how this is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! My husband takes the car back in (the following day) and is charged another $160 to have the expansion valve replaced. NOTE: Now were out of $820 total! Things went fine for about 3 more weeks when, wouldnt you know it...hot air is blowing out of the AC again! Heres the biggest kicker...when my husband takes the care back in he is given a list of "Service Descriptions" which come to an estimated total of $738.57!!!!!! WHAT? How is it that weve already shelled out $800+ and you guys are still guessing at what MIGHT be wrong with our car? Didnt we pay you to diagnose the problem in the very beginning? Last but not least, my husband took our car to our "backyard mechanic" last week and would you believe that after testing our old compressor the clutch actually tested fine...the clutch was never the problem!!!!!!! Luckily, we got the brains to go to our guy and no longer shell out money for guess work at 19th Avenue Garage. Russ, was very good at convincing us that they were the go-to-guys for our repairs, but it turns out that theyre the go-to-guys if you want to continuously pay for guess work and typical garage shenanigans!

I was given a quote over the phone for a job that needed to be done...I brought the car to them and they called me with the same job but a total different quote...the quote was for a couple hundred more than the first quote for the same job...the owner tried to lie to my face and in front of his workers...then he realized that he did in fact talk to me on the phone he could of honored me with the first quote he gave me...but no...the money hungry grub wanted my money...just to let midas know...they have been reported to BBB...and word of mouth goes a long way...thank you for taking what was 5 years of using Midas for all my car care needs to never again will I use you for anything...Sincerely..Unsatisfied Customer.

Went to get my catalytic converter done, I spoke with Russ (Manager), he wasnt helpful and the customer service sucked. As soon as I asked what the price was (and was surprised at how high it was), I told him I was quoted a third of the price at other shops. He continued to tell me this is the standard price, gave me my keys back and sent me on my way as if he didnt want to deal with me. Dont go here, youll only get bad service and theyll just take your money. Im a little upset and disappointed because I expected more out of them.

I love this place! so much so that I now have my mom going there. The men are honest, nice and hardworking. Ive taken my truck and car there many times to get a second opinion after Ive taken it to the dealership. They are always communicative about what they are doing with your car and they always call to tell you if they find something new before just fixing it. I trust their judgment and they dont take advantage of me just because Im a girl. I recommend them to EVERYONE!

Ive been going to Russ for several years now, with many different cars. Even when I lived an hour and a half away, Id come down just to see him. Ive also recommended him to friends and never got a complaint back from anyone Ive referred there. Its a no-hype place, and what you get is good honest service from people who love their job, and not out to rip you off. Good people! I just wish everyone else out there was as good with honest service like Russ is.

I need a mechanic check for a used car near phoenix downtown, so I went to this midas because of these good reviews. I am very happy to make the right choice. The manager and the technican are very friendly and professional. They stood together with me under the hood, showed me one-by-one for any problems they found, and gave a resonable price to fix them if I chose to do in their shop. Good place and people.

I have been going here for your years. I adore the Staff they are wonderful group of people. They are knowledgeable, honest and fair. Their prices are reasonable not “cheap” (meaning not cheap service and not cheap parts); because they provide QUALITY service. But they are not expensive either because they care about their customers. I recommend everyone to take their vehicles to the 19th Avenue Garage.

I have used this shop for many years (when they were Midas and now 19th ave) and they have always done quality work at a reasonable price. I have never had to take a job back to be redone and when they tell me what is needed I trust what they say- how many mechanic shops can you say that about?? This, dear reader, is what having good mechanics looks like. I am actually sad to say that I just got a new car so I wont see them as often. In the past couple of years I saw them a LOT as they helped me get as much time and as many miles as possible out of my old car. Please consider giving these good folks your business. Steve, Russ, JR and the boys always know who I am when I call, always do the job right,but for as little expense as possible, and always get it right the first time. I have and will continue to refer anyone I can to these folks; never have had even a neutral experience, theyve always been great!

I was very happy with how the folks at Midas worked with me to get my car back on the road. I didnt expect any help the day before Easter, but they were realistic and reasonable with their price, and got me in-and-out in the exact timeframe they gave me. I would definitely recommend this Midas.
