Not sure what happened here. We were sold on this company before our first conversation with them (so many great reviews). We are moving from Tempe to Colorado Springs and need packing and moving services. We were excited about Camelback b/c of their door-to-door service and that we would have the luxury of one truck for our stuff, not shared with other households. We have used full-service moving companies before (North American) and had an overall positive experience, although it was on a shared truck and the time frame from our old house to the new was a bit longer than we liked, Camelback seemed to be the answer to that. So, what were we disappointed with? 1. Unprofessional. After hearing that we were also getting a quote from Allied, Brad (our estimate guy) began giving us all the reasons why we would not want to go with a national company: a) More expensive - because they (the local Allied affiliate) have to "pay 10% to the national company" - it turns out that our estimate from CM was 20% higher than Allied. b) More hassle - they (Allied) will move you with other households (which is true) and they may come to your house in a box truck, take your stuff to a warehouse, offload and reload onto a larger truck, etc., while CM would keep it all in the same truck from one house to the other. When we told CM that their quote was higher than Allieds, they said it was because Allieds quote underestimated our move. This came from Chad (the President) who had never been to our house and only after reading the estimate Brad wrote up (which estimated the weight/cubic feet of our stuff 30% higher than Allied and included household items we dont even own, like a grandfather clock). While I think its fine to brag about your services, I dont ever think it a good practice to talk down about your competitors, it only feels as if you are trying to scare us out of doing business with them. Chad could have simply said that he believed his quote was accurate and his services priced accordingly, that would have been a more reasonable explanation than to say the other guy got it wrong. 2. Untimely. Brad was here on a Tuesday and promised us a quote by Thursday. While he spent only 15 minutes in our house, the quote took an extra day and many phone calls trying to find out when it would be ready. Allieds quote was on the spot. The reason for our rush is that Allied had a moving window that worked for us, but was closing and if we waited more than a few days we would have to move our date to a a time frame later than we wanted. Because of CMs slow turnaround time on the quote we missed the window. 3. In a follow-up call with Chad on the phone, he told my wife that Allieds quote may have been lower BUT...then started in on the competition again, explaining that there would be all sorts of hidden fees from Allied - never mind the fact that what we received was a price quote that was guaranteed to not exceed a certain amount. There is more I could say, but ultimately the reason I am so disappointed is because I read all of these great reviews and yet my experience was so contrary. Hopefully it was just a one-off bad experience (they did mention that Chad had been out of the office for personal reasons and part way through our process we were handed off to a new employee as Alicia (our original contact) went on vacation. I know from experience that running a local company requires explaining to customers the associated value and why prices may be higher. However, CM failed to communicate this value to us, only displaying an attitude that they are the best simply because they say so.

My wife and I recently used Camelback Moving to handle a move from Chandler to Scottsdale and I couldnt be happier with the service I received. The movers were on time, friendly, hard working, and efficient. They took extra time to dismantle larger pieces that needed to be moved and wrap up all furniture with plastic and blankets. I was a bit nervous for them to move out 60" TV but they took extra care with it and took extra time to strap it to the sides of the truck to ensure its safety during transit. During the move, we experienced an unexpected delay. As we were about to head up to the destination, their truck experienced transmission problems and was unable to move from my complex. While this was not ideal for both myself and the movers, I was impressed with their ability to assess the problem and figure out a way to make a bad situation right without causing me any added stress. They quickly called for a new truck to the complex and re-loaded it with all of my furniture. They worked extremely hard to minimize the delay and didnt charge me for the downtime. I was expecting that the delay would cost us most of the day but only ended up taking 2 hours. Throughout the set-back the movers called me 2 or 3 times to give me updates, which I greatly appreciated. After the move was over they had someone call me to make sure that everything was OK despite the set-back. In a world where companies nickle and dime their customers and take our money and run, I was extremely impressed with the follow-up and their level of customer service. I have moved 4 times in the last 5 years and this has been hands down the best experience, I wish I had known about them earlier. Their prices are fair, their movers are hard-working and careful, and their customer service is top notch. I will absolutely use them next time I have to move and HIGHLY recommend them to handle yours.

From the first minute I called Camelback Moving and spoke with Anthony I knew this would be the crew to move my stuff. I did extensive research on Valley movers (my wife and I moved from the Bay Area and our stuff was in storage) to compare rates and although Camelback had one of the higher rates you truly get what you pay for. Please do not waste your time with the cheaper options just to save a buck, what you dont spend in money you will spend in time making sure the job is done correctly and your stuff isnt ruined. Also on a tip from Camelback I researched the other "budget" movers and found they not only lie about their BBB license but some companies employ convicted felons!! Here are the facts; this company is very forthcoming with all service fees (no hidden gas costs or charging for packing supplies malarkey). They are professional, polite, and punctual, the 3 necessary Ps for me to do business. I received not 1 but 2 confirmation calls (thank you Janet and Lisa) one and three days before the move. On moving day, Alex called 1/2 hour before they arrived to let me know exactly where they were and how long until they got to my storage. When they arrived they accidentally sent 2 extra movers (I arranged for 2) AND DIDNT CHARGE EXTRA FOR THE MISTAKE!!! The 4 guys unloaded my storage lightning fast and I didnt have to monitor AT ALL. Only two guys stuck around to unload at the new house and they still handled business like champs, only 45 to unload an entire truck! Big thanks to Alex, Israel, Arnaldo, and Joe for your tremendous efforts!! I would def recommend this company to anyone in need of movers in Az, you will not be disappointed!
