DO NOT SIGN UP HERE. I had found a great deal through a school fundraiser for $20 for 3 months. We went in to check it out (October 2013) and thought it was pretty nice so we wanted to use our coupons. They swindled us into a membership (month to month, no cancellation fees! sure) for various reasons and with all these added free things and promises of a FREE start up of weigh in, body fat index, nutrition, etc. (jump start or whatever the hell they call it). I was very excited for it all, especially the jump start. We went to our "jump start" and it turned into a very uncomfortable situation because we were being sold this thing that we were told was free, by a man who made me feel uncomfortable (Jimmy, if hes still there). Because we wanted the help we signed up for personal training which he told us we could cancel if we didnt like. Personal trainer didnt call us at all for 2 weeks. When I got charged for the personal training and had received none I went in to tell them to cancel it and they gave me a nonsense story of how they dont do anything the first two weeks because of the payments or whatever and didnt cancel my account, although I had requested to do so. 2 weeks later had still not had any personal training and was charged again. I was livid so I cancelled my debit card and never went back. When their billing people contacted me I told them of my situation and that I just wanted to cancel and wouldnt pay because I never received the services to pay for. He told me he would contact them since I had a balance and couldnt cancel myself to see if they would, and would call me the next day. Never received a call. Got a call a few weeks later again from billing and asked who I could speak to. They told me to talk to the manager of the gym. I called the gym to make an appointment with the manager, who also never called me back. Now they have turned me over to collections. They use Swift Funds Collections. A man called me claiming to be a lawyer for the gym and told me they were going to take me to court, which he thought was ridiculous and wanted to help. My bf whos on the account with me, spoke with the collection who said we owed 160 each. Call today, paid 160 for one part of my account and turns out the other part is over 1000, and the "lawyer" was a manager at the collections. This place is the biggest SCAM. My neighbor also had a similar issue with them. Dont let them screw you too for a shitty gym (which all the other bad reviews are dead on- teenagers sitting aroud everywhere, kids running around, always packed, etc)

I like this gym pretty much overall. Its a full service gym with an indoor heated lap pool, hot tub, steam room, on-site daycare center, cycling room, several aerobics rooms and a ton of circuit equipment plus free weights, treadmills, bikes, etc... Everything you could ask for in a gym. Theres even a chiropractor and massage center on site, tanning booths (who uses those??) and a little snack bar. The equipment is in acceptable shape, although it could use some updating and maintenance. Ive noticed the treads are in rough shape on some of the treadmills and the stationary bikes are not in the best shape. When you go into the gym youll notice the treadmills and bikes, steppers and stair climbers get a whole lot of use. Probably why they are worn down a bit. The on-site manager, Rob, is wonderful and if you need guidance in selecting the right membership plan or learning more about the gym, just ask to speak with him. My membership counselor, Jose, was a perfect gentleman and really went out of his way to help me choose the right program for me and my family. There are a huge number of classes offered daily, from hardcore "Fit" classes that will get you ripped to water aerobics, water zumba (awesome), spinning, Silver Sneakers and flippers classes for those who want totally low impact; some very high energy body pumping with weights, and more. You wont get bored in this center unless you want to be bored. I believe there is something here for every body type, age, exercise level, desire, etc... Whether youre going to the gym for your heart, for your physique, or just to get a few moments away from the kids, Fitness Works has it all. And the price is great, too. The one aspect of the gym that has disappointed me so far is the lack of available guidance when you have questions. It might be that I didnt/dont know who to ask, but it seems like in order to receive that guidance you may have to contract with one of the on-site personal trainers. Thanks, but Ill pass. P.S. This gym does not offer towel service. They do have santizer wipe stations all around the building, but you need to bring your own towels.

I wanted to take a moment and express my sincere gratitude for a certain fitness instructor: "Wendy". I met Wendy a few months ago after her bodypump class. I had a question about a shoulder injury and how I could modify my workout so that I could continue bodypump, because I loved the class, in particularly HER class as she creates a fun safe environment to workout in. . . Since then Wendy has pushed, and motivated, inspired and challenged, and uplifted me many times as I continue to attend the various classes she instructs and/or recommends. Im not a thin "fit" person, and going to the gym and sweating and moving my body and getting into uncomfortable positions isnt the easiest thing to do, but with the encouragement and support Wendy has given, I now have the desire to keep going and try harder each time to create a healthier leaner me! Once in her GPT class the group was doing something VERY challenging I was the last to go and I didnt think I could do it. . .I struggled and wanted to quit. I was embarrassed. When all of a sudden Wendy and the rest of the group (club members) began cheering me on and shouting and telling me "you can do it"! The feeling of support was incredible. I can do it!!! For the first time ever I believe in myself and know I can achieve my fitness goals. Im not giving up until I make it! And even then Im not quitting! I owe this to Wendy especially, as she has seen in me, what I do not always see in myself. I dedicate the 56 pounds Ive lost and that cool little muscle on the back of my arm, and all my clothes that are too big and falling off, to Wendy! She is an amazing person! Im so lucky our paths crossed that one day in bodypump! I love going to the gym! The club members are fun and supportive and the staff are ALL amazing and friendly! I cant wait to see my before/after poster on the wall at the gym when I reach my goal! Thank you to Wendy and thank you to each and every Fitness Works employee and club member for creating an environment that is positive and safe where I can make my fitness dreams come true!

Just because of all the negative reviews. I will not join this gym. And most people are right when they say what they mean in their experiences. Always read any contract before signing it. My thought is okay you have 2 good trainers and the rest are bad and management is also. Easy fix fire the bad and get good in. If you look at the area its sorta ran down so im sure the company isnt gonna put alot of money into a facility that isnt a money maker for them. If the place is so dirty and bad then report it to the business bureau instead of complaining. Im surprised corporate is that bad but I have seen it before. Too bad they didnt hire me as a consultant to fix their issues and get this place turned around because its about the customer as we are in a service driven industry. I wouldnt allow employees to have their phones with them at work because that takes away from work and customers. Too bad this gym is so aweful. Could be a real winner if people cared and thats employees from top to bottom. Again im only goin off what others have experienced on the negative side. Of course you will always have people that like it and that is because they are used to lower standards. And most that give bad reviews want higher standards because they feel their money should be better spent. I took business in college and am total quality management certified and its why businesses fail and succeed. You either want customers to be happy or not. Basically your business ethics are very questionable from what I read im surprised your even open still. Because you cant just go on the people that are there already and then quit and hope the loyals are enough revenue to keep the doors open. Thats just plain bad business. Well good luck Fitness Works. From a never customer. Thanks.
