Behind the facade of the glitz and glamour of these clubs comes with a price and a harsh lesson. With anything contract related there are certainly obligations. Unfortunately #mountainsidefitness does not have a grey area or flexibility for #disabledveterans or new mothers. My wife and I recently had our first child, moved just inside of there 15 mile limit. I contacted mountainside to cancel our membership due to our inability to visit the club and my injuries sustained from a combat related tour of duty. Despite my numerous contacts with the club, management and billing none of them were partial to my situation. the robots that work for this company said the only way out of my contract was to buy my way out. I was completely willing to rejoin wen we were settled and my injuries healed, no help from anyone company wide, even at the corporate level. My advice is to stay far away from this horrible business, no compassion for new mothers or combat Veterans despite providing proof.

I started a membership in March. When I signed up the systems were down but they were able to charge me the start up fee. They said as soon as their systems came back up they would finish putting mine and my girlfriends information in. They had it set up for automatic payment. We have gone there almost every day since joining. Today I go in and everything is fine. My girlfriend goes to meet with her trainer an hour later. They tell her that payments have not been made for two months and she cant workout. I call down there and they tell me my payments have been declined for two months. I tell them there is no way. The lady looks up the account and says oh sorry we didnt have your debit card on file. So now because of their mistake I will be charged two payments. Staff needs work.

I workout at LA Fitness, but asked the staff here if I could try out this gym for a single workout session. The pleasant girls at the front desk found this to be a reasonable request and let me through, but the manager stopped me during my workout and told me to pay $15 or leave. I did not have the money on hand, so I obliged and left the building. I understand that the manager was simply trying to do his job, but he made me feel very nervous and uncomfortable despite my polite compliance. I do not have a membership at this location, but based off this particular experience, I will not consider joining this gym when my LA Fitness membership is up for renewal.

Im a member at the north location on Carefree Hwy. its extremely overpriced for what you get. And with the specials being ran all the time you cant get a lift in because its overly crowded. Instead of taking care of the foundation long term members theyd rather keep bringing in riff raff off the streets for a month or two and creating chaos. The machines are always broke and the help is not friendly. The staff always seem to be ok their phones in the evening hours rather than be doing their jobs. Been lifting weights all my life and have been to other facilities and this has been one of the worst experiences.

MF charged our account although our contract had come to an end. We made multiple calls and went to gym to resolve issue but always got the run around. Three different people told us three different stories as to who was in charge and could resolve issue. As a result we have not still received a refund and the manger is conveniently "out of town till next week" . Quick to take your many but uncooperative who it comes to refunding money that they have no right to. We will never go to Mountainside Fitness again. Plenty of other gyms with better rates to go to.

The BBB rating is an F, $45 a month makes it the most expensive gym in the valley. Rude front desk children. Always have broken equipment, never towels, dirty steam room and sauna. Mario Arce and his team are all overweight executives that run this mediocre establishment. Google this guy, hes so overweight he needs an electric scooter to get around, and the CEO, would blow away in the wind. Completely ran by individuals who dont understand health or fitness facilities.

Long-time member since it is nearby. But they keep overloading the place with new people and it is very difficult to keep on a workout in the free weights area due to wait times. They do have some nice new machines, but the free weight area keeps shrinking. It appears they are catering to people using their trainers. So unless you are one of the relative handful of people using trainers you will find yourself confined to small areas within the gym.

This gym is right by my house and at this time its the only gym around. Its got everything I need but is what I would consider a bit small. Pretty much anytime I go, 6am or 6pm as thats what my schedule allows during the week, its busy and you have to wait for equipment. But the staff is very friendly and I like the atmosphere. I think its a fair price for what you get and other than it getting quite crowded I have no complaints.

Mountainside in North Phoenix on 74 Carefree Highway is the best gym Ive ever had. The childcare staff took pains to know my kids and greet them by name in the first weeks. The machines are varied and plentiful and comfortable to use. Everything is maintained mechanically and cleaned regularly. The regulars are mostly cheerful and helpful to newbies. I only wish the music on the loudspeakers was more "family friendly."

Dont pay in full. They really dont give you a good deal (they only offered one free month after my third time of asking) and chances are that you wont be pleased there. I had an absolutely horrible experience with their day care facility. They leave infants alone and stand around talking most of the time. Watch the cameras if you dont believe me! I would HIGHLY recommend trying before you buy.

PLEASE DO NOT GYM HERE AT ALL. THEY WILL TAKE EVERY DIME THEY CAN GET OUT OF YOU. ZANE W. WAS NOT WILLING TO BUDGE ONE BIT TO HELP OUT A CUSTOMER WHO WAS WILLING TO STAY BUT WITH LITTLE HELP. AVOID THIS MOUNTAIN SIDE FITNESS AT ALL COST. EMPLOYEES ACT AS IF THEY DO NOT LIKE THEIR JOBS.

Ive been a member since 2010 and I do like the remodel. However workout machines are tagged for several weeks for repair and they are not fixed on a timely basis. I think if you are raising the rates you should be repairing machines that are used on regular.basis.

Awesome Gym, staff makes me feel important really appreciate these guys. Sean the assistant manager needs a raise. The family package gives my wife and I a chance to workout while are kids are having fun and being taken good care of. Thank you MF on carefree.

Fantastic gym! Has everything one could ask for in a gym! Great staff! Friendly gym goers who have no problem spotting! Been attending this gym for the past 3 years and still stands as my favorite gym in the North Phoenix area!

Love the free classes that are included in the membership fee. If you are a Costco member and are considering joining, check out the 3 month membership they have available through Costco for about $110.
