I have been going here for 4-6 times/week for appx 18 months now. When I first joined I was impressed with how well the gym was run. Trainers would make rounds every hour or two and make sure weights were picked up. Around a year ago though I believe a manager got promoted and left this location. Since then its been in sharp decline. The front desk staff is very pleasant. Outside of that, the place seems pretty cold. Thats not a big deal for me, as Im not there to make friends, but Im sure it would be intimidating for beginners. What I cant get past though is the filth. Weights are left all over the place. The only people who take any ownership in the gym are the customers. I rarely ever see trainers on the floor. There has been a towel laying next to one of the squat racks for at least 11 days. It hasnt moved. I put a picture of it on instagram yesterday, and its still there today. Thats pretty disgusting, and points to the fact that nobody is cleaning this place. Im sure the equipment hasnt been wiped down in ages. My wife (who works out with me) recently developed a rash on her neck... I only need one guess to figure out where it probably came from... Giving a 2nd star only because I appreciate the size of this location.

UPDATE. Sales staff is more outgoing. But the gym is still gross. They cant keep a janitor employed there for the life of them. Hey maybe should hire a few instead of working only one guy to death. The equipment is never repeat never cleaned. And the showers are never cleaned. There is standing water that has stuff growing in it and the cracks turn black with slime. Many dont shower for the Jacuzzi or sauna. They are GROSS. NEVER cleaned. Dead skin in the Jacuzzi. Wet sauna has a sewer smell also with gross standing water on areas of the seats with black slime growing. Members are gross because they dont shower, and wear gym clothes and street shoes in pool area and saunas. Old post: Ditto on all the other bad comments. I quite this gym 10 years ago for the same reasons. I loved pure fitness and their staff till this crappy business bought them out. La staff are the worst. Not friendly unless they r trying to sell you on something. Thee worst gym, do not join. Luckily I only pay 12 bucks a month under pure fitness contract from when they first opened.

I was hurt today at this gym and nobody seemed to care. I asked for the manager to call me and I still havent received a call. Next I guess I will talk to a lawyer or call their corporate headquarters. Not a great start to my day! 4/6/16 The manager did call, was concerned and said he talked with the cleaning crew to be sure swimmers were aware of equipment behind them. But he also said that cleaning needed to be done at this gym 3 days per week between 5-6am . This was very sad news and I feel very wrong news. Yes the gym needs cleaned but to always put gym members unavailable, to fully use the gym which they have memberships too during those hours is wrong. I nanny my grandkids so their parents can work and those are my only hours I have available and the reason I joined the gym. So sorry to have lost our 24 hour fitness that gave better service to their members.

Its a good gym. They have all the equipment youll ever need except platforms for Oly lifts, but hey its LA fitness. However the equipment is a bit more old school than most LA fitnesses Ive been to. I actually kind of dig it. HOWEVER this place does smell awful. Like old, moldy tacobell. Its seriously disgusting. Also, the majority of clients here are seniors so if youre a younger guy that might be weird for you. There are also some big meat heads here but again, its LA fitness lol. If youre here for you that wont bother you anyway. The front desk people are usually pretty nice but the one guy is kind of a rude dude. Only time Ive ever written a review on a place and its because of the smell. Im likely changing gyms and driving 15 more minutes each way just because of it. Youve been warned.

Been a member since the gym opened. Theres a large group of us (seniors/ladies) that found this location convenient for REGULAR scheduled Aqua classes with favorite and loyal teachers. Last year, with NO provocation, our teachers were dropped as well as the class times?? Those of us with computers sent dozens of letters to Corporate to tell of our dismay. NOTHING has changed. This Gym appears to be sabotaged. Today the pool heater is STILL broken and Im told itll be at least 10+ days before its fixed. Ive loaded $1,000s of dollars into this LA Fitness location and like my loyal ladies, were getting NOTHING done for the remaining years we have left to exercise as we need to in the water aerobics classes. What a tragedy and shame!

I go to three different LA Fitness Clubs in the area and this is by far the dirtiest, the weights are never in their rightful place and the Management seems not to care. The only bright spot was the Sunday 9:45am aerobics class - the instructor was Wendy and her class was one of the best classes I have ever been to and I have been doing aerobics for years - however, Wendy was recently let go and this weeks substitute was one of the worst instructors I have ever had. If that same instructor is kept, I will probably stop going to this Club and thats a shame since its the closest Club to where I live.

Its a large gym, but the hours arent that great compared to some ither gyms and it get very crowded, so its best to go very late. Also, nobody ever cleans the equipment, some are broken down for extended periods of time and although the cardio area is nice and clean, the weight room always smells like sweat and mildew and cardio classes are always super crowded and taught by someone who isnt even in shape to begin with. We decided to pay extra to go to LA Fitness, but I personally dont think its worth the money. Staff is friendly, but dismissive and always on their cell phones.

Worked out there one night and felt everything was very outdated and kind of dirty overall. It was a slightly better gym than some of its competition, but its still about 10 years behind in updating its equipement. This gym also promotes a "look at me!" attitude as theres a platform in the center of the gym for strength training and treadmills facing this platform with no tvs to watch. So you end up staring at the people directly in front of you. I was very dissapointed in the overall experience and would urge this gym to leave the 90s behind and join modern times.

Do not go here!!!! My grandma was robbed of her belongings from her locker. They let a woman go into the gym to "use the restroom" without her having a membership. My grandma had her stuff locked up, but the woman still managed to get her stuff. She stole her credit cards, keys, IDs, and check books. The staff was not helpful at all saying that their "insurance didnt cover this because they got robbed all the time." What kind of business is this? Who lets complete strangers into the gym locker room where people put their belongings? DO NOT GO THERE! YOU WERE WARNED.
