If I could give 0 or negative stars I would. I put in a web order for a battery. Went in to the 35th ave & Cactus rd store to pick it up at approx. 7pm. It was getting dusk and sprinkling rain. Josh (Said he was a new employee and had only been there 1.5 months) brought my battery up. I told him that I have a Pep Boys Bosch battery and that if I could I would like to have it warrantied. I dont remember what the phone number is that I bought it under but its still (or was) under warranty. I was advised that Pep Boys wont warranty a web order battery. I asked if the order could be cancelled. He said no. I asked if I could have it installed. He called over the other employee (didnt get his name. Yet) about having it installed. He then told me that they couldnt install it because I didnt do a web appointment for said battery. I explained that I tried but the website was down and couldnt make the appointment for that evening. Told him I had the coupon for the free battery install, that I would pay for the battery separately and then they could maybe put in my battery. Josh was just watching what was going on. Other employee said that if I pay for it separately that it would be considered a customer carry in battery and that it was $70.00 to install the battery. $70 is crazy to install a battery on a Honda Civic. Really? So, against my better judgment to just leave the store without my battery, push start my car, and go to the OReillys down the street, I said that Id go ahead and pay for my (still warrantied) battery and install it myself. I asked if there were any store tools I could use to get my battery out just incase if I didnt have the correct tools. Other employee said no. I asked if hed be a dear and ask a tech if I could borrow a couple wrenches. He said no. The techs are particular about their tools. I get it. I work with techs but seriously? Itd be 1 thing if I came in looking disheveled, homeless, or acting rude and suspicious. I didnt. I came in after work wearing nice pants and a nice shirt, clean, was not rude or cussing. Very nice and calm but was treated like a piece of trash. Josh was ringing me up and I asked him not to charge me the core since I had to replace my battery because my car would not start. He said he had to charge the core. I told him that I was going to be right out front and that I was going to bring the core right back in. He did the core exchange for me. I went out in the dark and rain to install my battery. Using what tools I could find in my car (because ya know, me being a girl, why would I have tools in my car if I dont work on it for a living?) and replaced my battery. Took me all of 10 minutes to unbolt everything and put it all back together. Brought my core back in and left it by the front register. I then gathered up business cards for Josh Gray & Bill Cleary. I walked over to service where the Other employee was and asked for his name. With his back to me he said "Kent". I told Kent to have a great evening and thanked him for helping me. I will NEVER go back into another Pep Boys for as long as I live. I shouldve just left when I had the chance. I have never been treated like that when Ive gone to OReillys or Auto Zone or CARQUEST. What a disappointment.

Called ahead of time to see what the wait was for an oil change, and was told I a could get in immediately. I arrived maybe five minutes later and stood at the service counter for about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. After someone finally told me they would be right with me, they walked away and didnt come back for another 10 minutes. I was then told that there were two other cars ahead of me and Id have to wait. So I waited and they finally got to my vehicle about an hour later, started and finished the work and was asked if they wanted me to change the air filter. I told them no, that I would do it, and thought that was the end of it. The service attendant didnt tell the mechanic and left my car on the lift for an additional 20 minutes because he thought I might want him to change my air filter. I never write these reviews, but this is by far the worst location Ive ever been to, with employees who either dont care about their job or are just completely inept. I would recommend going to a different location because, if they cant handle a simple oil change, do you really want them doing major work on your vehicle? I sure the hell dont.

Hadnt been to this location since the early 2000s. Basically I went for four tires, they put on 3 that were the right size and one an inch or two bigger - a coworker noticed the next day. Went to change it out (return trip), they apologized. Might I mention I noticed they ran over all my center caps because they left them behind the tires on the lift the first time but I figured oh well, live and learn.. Anyways, I go back, I complain about my second trip - and that my center caps fell off. They replaced the center caps. All is well.. A week later one tire has a bubble, I go to get it fixed. Then they run over one of the center caps again (one of the new ones). I specifically asked them not to prior to giving them the keys - and they laughed at me in a "are we idiots?" tone. Anyways, they already had the number to get more so they ordered another. Pep Boyz - go for parts.. Keep away if you need a repair or tires.

This location is my favorite. The people here are extremely nice and they really try their best to get the work done. Today I went in to get my car fixed and there was 8 cars in front of me. My car was not starting so if they couldnt fix it today then I would be car less for a couple more days. I was patient and I waited to see the results. When they came up to me to tell me the total, they also inform me that the part they need to fix my car was not available in that location and they can have it deliver from another store but wont be fixed till tomorrow. Literally one minute later, they told me that their manager would have someone go pick it up and they would have my car ready by today. I was so relief. I didnt even know that was an option, but Im glad they did that for me. I been having a bad day for 3 days straight, but they defiantly made the last day better.
