I had a mixed experience at Dolce Salon & Spa. I was in Scottsdale to attend a wedding the weekend of April 4th, 2015. I decided to have my hair and makeup done for the wedding. I arrived at the salon with my hair still very wet from the shower and in a bun. My hotel was less than 5 mins away. I have gotten my hair styled many times and I always arrive with my hair like this since I like to shower right before getting my hair and makeup done. The salon is very nicely decorated and the receptionist was attentive and friendly. I was taken to the back to the Stylist chair a few mins later and the stylist looks at my hair and says she wants her assistant to give me a "quick shampoo to get some products in my hair". I told her I didnt see the need since I literally just took a shower but she insisted. I express my concern again to the assistant on my way to the shampoo chair but Im shuffled to the back for the shampoo anyway. After the shampoo Im taken back to the Stylists chair and I explain to her what Id like to have done. Basically a blowout with loose, spiral curls. I wear my hair like this a lot and it takes me 35-40 mins tops with a blow dryer and curling iron. Stylist blows my hair out and pins each straightened section to my head for "volume". I have had this done before and didnt think much of it. After all the sections are blown the pins are removed and she goes over it with a curling iron. I was happy with the outcome and immediately go to the makeup station. I loved the way my makeup looked and even purchased a product the cosmetician suggested. I go to pay the tab and my mouth fell open when I was told my hair cost was $155. The total with makeup BEFORE tips was well over $200. I ask for an itemized explanation and I was charged $70 for the shampoo treatment and another $85 for the actual style? I explained what happened, that I was basically forced to have the unneccessary shampoo, and the receptionist disappears and comes back and says "we asked the stylist and she forgot to take it off the bill". It now made sense why she insisted I get this service. Even with the $70 charge removed the hair portion of the bill was WAY too expensive. Im from New York and have had my hair done quite often and this was by FAR the most expensive blowout I ever had. Basically If I didnt complain about the excess charge I would have had a $155 blowout. I feel like I got completely taken advantage of and the Stylist did everything possible to intentionally give me the most expensive services. The makeup was comparable to what I have paid at other places so no complaints there. I felt even worse when I got to the wedding and my two friends that also had their hair done at Dolce paid MUCH less than I did (they were both shocked at what I was charged). When they insisted I call and complain I was told it was because of the different services and nothing they could do. $70 Shampoo & Style w/Keratin treatment + $15 Thermal Touch. Michele A. WARNING, TERRIBLE SERVICE IF YOU GET A BAD CUT --- Have been going to Dolce for about 1 year and recently got a cut and style from a level 6 stylist (the highest level they have). I told her "just a trim". She chopped one side of my hair so badly I would have to get an above-the-shoulder length bob to make it even all around. Before this experience I had medium length hair falling about 4 inches below my shoulders. I returned to see another stylist at the Dolce within their 14 day "fix-it" timeframe, to try to rectify my butchered hair and the $500+ investment I put into it (I had multiple hair services that day before my hair was chopped). The staff were not welcoming nor apologetic. The resolution they offered for my chopped hair and worthless investment (since I ended up having to cut it all off) was insulting and small in comparison to the damage that was done and money I spent. It was such a disappointment coming from the salon that I have loved and frequented until now. For a service oriented company, the service I received was worse than 1star worthy. I would give 0 if I could. The terrible cut was one bad experience I might get over when my hair grows back, but the HORRIBLE SERVICE and way I was treated by the management is a nightmare I will never forget and is a story I will never stop sharing with other potential victims.

I have been going for 5 years and used to love the service and customer service. I still love my hairstylist. However, since moving from Borgota to the quarter, most of the assistants they have brought in should not be on the floor blow drying in my opinion. The past several times I had to go home and re-do my hair because they were so inexperienced. If your stylist is a level 3 or up you must pay an extra $25 for most services to have her style your hair. This gets to be very expensive if you need a color re-touch once a month. Also, on the month of your birthday you are to get a discount all month long on services and products. Because of the discount, I scheduled myself to get a few extensions for volume and they would not permit this service discounted even though it read for ANY service or product. I complained and they said that was their NEW policy. I then wrote in and was told the same thing. I said I have spent thousands of dollars here for myself and my daughter and as an act of good will thought they could have allowed it, since that was no where in print. I dont feel the customer service and customer appreciation as it used to be. The turnover is huge with the front desk and assistants I am not sure what to do because I love my stylist so much but have been leaving there feeling disappointed over the past year.

DOLCE SCOTTSDALE QUARTERS CUSTOMERS SERVICE IS CRAPPY!!!!! Let me tell everyone about my experience with Dolce at Scottsdale Quarters. I made an appointment two months out to get a treatment done by Maddie (who is a manger, I was told). I had to move another appointment so I could have her do the treatment on a Monday. I got a text reminder on Friday before the treatment. On the day of the treatment I worked half day, getting off at 11:30. I got another text reminder at 11:00 about my 1:00 appointment. At 11:44 I was told Maddie has to cancel and they were sorry. Why couldnt I have been notified earlier, I was on my way home to get ready fro the appointment. If they would of contacted me earlier I could have stayed at work instead of blowing 1/2 PTO day, some may think thats not a big deal but when your only have so Monday PTO days, it really is. I know things come up and emergencies happen, that is why I have to manage my PTO days for my elderly mom but did Maddie call to apologize or make it right.. that would by a HUGE NO! No one did!!! They really need to work on their customer service!!! I know I will be looking else where for the services Dolce was going to do. Sorry for the length just wanted to warn everyone. Thank you
