I will start with this.... When we first came to Scottsdale Learning Center we were very happy with the previous Director (she has since left) Two horrible incidents that have occurred at this school and finalized our time with SLC. The first: One of the teachers got a MRSA infection. She was forced to continue to work with this very dangerous infection, and to top it off, the director did not disclose any information about it! I luckily found out before my son risked exposure and questioned the director about these duplicitous practices, and she assured that she apologized and said she would make sure that they posted a note. I never saw a note. Because I am someone who tends to take people at their word, I allowed another chance to this location (when I should have gone with my gut). which leads me to my second horrible incident... The second: I dropped my son off today, I have disliked this teacher since an earlier altercation. Many of the teachers at this facility are young and (in my opinion) lack the life experience to provide the patient, calm, nurturing, love and care that many young children need to feel secure. I dropped my son, and went to speak with another teacher at the school. His teacher was unaware that I was still at the school. After I left the classroom, I heard and witnessed my son crying and sitting in circle-time but I could not see why he was upset, since I was still at the school, if I thought it was something I could help address I figured that I would. So I went to the front to ask the director to change the cameras to his room.... I witnessed this teacher yank my child off the floor in an aggressive manner and begin to aggressively admonish and jar him while pointing into his face as he sobbed. The director felt very uncomfortable and felt the need to break the silence and ask "do you know what happened?" I continued to watch... The teacher began to place him back down on the floor...before my child could reach sitting position he let out another distressed yell to which she yanked him back off the floor causing his body to be jolted back into her grasp where she began pointing in his face and screaming at him to the point of sheer fear and distress. I stormed down the hall to go save my son from the bullying he was experience from this teacher, while the director chased after me. As I entered the classroom and grabbed my son he said "mama! Im okay" which my toddler uses to let me know that he was "hurt/injured" but that he was okay. The teacher snarled at me, "He wasnt listening" while the director began questioning what had happened. After I wrote this review, the school responded with blatant lies about their practices and referred to the two-year old classroom as "challenging". They also referred to their staff as early-childhood educators and this staff member happens to be 19 and many of their other staff are only 16 years old. (these are all facts that you can have checked out) After this incident, I received an apologetic voicemail from the Director, and she wanted to let me know how she handled the staff members inappropriate behavior and offered to switch my childs classroom if I would be comfortable after the situation. But then their response to my previous review was not only smug, but justifying and advocating for their teachers to mistreat children if they deemed it necessary to set boundaries. Their response was very charged and aggressive. They blamed my two-year old for being inconsolable and suggested that the response was appropriate instead of providing my child with love. For all of you parents out there, I hope you never have to experience something like this with your child.

I truly believe this is the best preschool that you will find in Scottsdale. I toured several in the area before I decided on SLC last fall and none of them even came close to comparing to SLC in my opinion. I have a 3 year old son that attends this center and every morning when I drop him off, I feel so good knowing that he is in good hands. His teacher (Mrs. Jill) in room #14 is absolutely amazing and she takes such good care of all of her kiddos and always has something fun and creative going on with them. My son absolutely adores her. Taking care of 3 year olds all day long is not an easy task and she has so much energy and enthusiasm for her job that it really gives me peace of mind knowing that my son is in such a great environment. All of the teachers that my son has been around are wonderful. They are all very patient and are so great with the kids. My son has learned so much this past year and his communication skills have improved so much that I couldnt ask for a better preschool for him to be in. The front desk staff, especially Theresa and Julie are also incredible and are always patient, friendly and professional. The center is also very clean and smells nice. I love that you only have to pay for the days that your kid(s) attend. They are so accommodating for families with changing or fluctuating schedules. All in all, an incredible place and I HIGHLY recommend it! ;)

My daughter was in this school during 1 year and was a terrible experience for her and for me, she was crying every morning. The teachers are so young, inexperience, no patients and no friendly at all, seems like they are doing their jobs in a bad manner for a minimum wage, for me are like baby sitters no teachers and I was looking that my girl could learn new things not someone to help me with the potty train (by the way they are not good in this part neither). I noticed fingerprints bruises on her arms, she was getting sick every 2 weeks with a weird infections. The lady that is in the front desk in the mornings is so rude and after Christmas vacations she told me that theres a fee to put my girls name on the list again. My girl was getting sick to often and the day that we went to school again the same rude lady told me that is a requirement that my girl attend school 2 days a week minimum so I answered to her "thats fine we are going to do homeschool then". I decided to do homeschool and now my daughter is not getting sick anymore, shes really happy and learning more things. When I notified them that my daughter is not coming back to this school they couldnt find her clothe that was in the cubby. Dont torture your kids in this school I took a terrible decision trying this school for my girl, was a big mistake and your kids deserve better.

Our family could not be more pleased with the loving care our daughter receives at Scottsdale Child Care & Learning Center. We spent many months trying to find the right place, and thankfully we didn’t give up before finding this amazing center. What makes them so amazing? It begins the moment we walk through the door and Ms. Theresa greets us with her friendly welcome and beautiful smile. She’s not the only one who is so friendly, every person we see smiles and tells us hello. That is so rare theses days! Even the chef, Ms. Susie, knows our daughter’s name by heart and says hello every time we pass the kitchen area. Our daughter adores her teachers; she asks to see them and her “friends” each morning. It’s understandable why she feels this way. Her days are fun-filled with activities, learning, healthy foods, and playtime. Knowing that our daughter is in a safe place where she is loved and cared for is a top priority (as it is for any parent). We are extremely pleased with our experience, and can’t say enough about how much we LOVE Scottsdale Child Care & Learning Center!!
