2 STARS- DISLIKED IT !!! I have been to several LA Fitness locations, and this is by far the WORST I have seen! I have been coming to this location on and off for 3 years, more out of the convenience of the location to work, but I dont how much longer I can endure the filth and lack of attention to this location. To begin with, the dumbells and weight plates are usually on the floor or misplaced somewhere on the floor, so you waste time looking for the needed weights when you could be working out. As times, I have seen some of the new staff members (there are actually the two specific guys that are mindful of this) trying to restack the weights when possible. The biggest complaint is the lack of sanitation out on the main floor and especially in the locker room. The toilets are often clogged with paper, people have peed on the seats, the countertops are flooded with puddles of water and crumpled up paper towels and drops of soap or hair product. Also, often the paper towel and alcohol dispensers are empty. Also, a lot of the gym equipment does not look like it gets sanitized/disinfected/wiped down on a normal basis. Granted, its the responsibility of the gym users to wipe it down after uses, but I dont know how often that occurs if the alcohol dispensers are always empty (and then when you ask the staff or manager to take care of it they either give a lame excuse that they have to order more purell, or they say they will do it, and even after an hour passes by its empty!!) People can get sick from all the sweat and germs in this CESS POOL. It also stinks (i know, its a gym with sweat) but, perhaps it would be prudent to have an automated air freshner that neutralizes those odors (not floral , ocean breeze, fake scents). Also, many of the machines are broken/have defective program settings (steppers, a few treadmills, cycling class bikes, etc.) and even when you tell some of the staff members about it, nothing is done. I know this because I have seen this happen many times. I have told them about the broken machines, and then after an hour passes, no one still has gone to check it out, put up an out of order sign, etc. Also after a few weeks I check on the same machines to see if potentially its an issue of waiting to get it serviced, and the darn things are still acting up! This really angers me because members pay $30/month, if not more, so they deserve to have facilities and equipment in order. Worse off, it seems like management just doesnt care and chooses to put things off. If this keeps up, I may very well cancel my membership and just go to 24 Hour Fitness. Besides, they have a deal with Costco where it equals out to $15/month. Its cheaper, has more flexible hours, and my friends say its a lot cleaner. What is the point of your monthly "Member Appreciation Days" if its all talk and no action? This Cerritos location needs to clean up its act immediately!

It never fails that I have to wait to get checked in while the understaffed front desk is juggling phone calls, checkins, and the ALWAYS present member who has been trying "for months" to cancel. From what I have gathered, I actually have already memorized their speech "Unfortunately, we can not cancel your membership only our corporate office can, you need to send them your requests in writing" that is usually followed up with "I did and no one has done anything, I keep getting charged on my credit card/bank" Canceling appears to be a nightmare. The only reason I still go here despite the poor rating is because of the convenience, THIS GYM LEAVES ALOT TO BE DESIRED, most recently the Air Conditioning seems to not be working, leaving the front door open is the only attempt I have seen to try and remedy this. The indoor cycles? HORRIBLE. For starters, half of them dont work, you have to come in early to play Dr. Frankenstein and find a bike with pedals and resistance levers that work then most likely something will be wrong with the seat, so you have to find another bike to swipe a seat from. The locker rooms are atrocious and the only reason to go in there is because you have to use the restroom, avoid by all means. I have been going here for over 8 months and have only seen 1 cleaning lady, ever. ALWAYS the same one! No complaints about her, she is doing what she can but Im sure she could use some help, you can tell she does her job but she can only do so much. LOOK ELSEWHERE!

I came in last week to check out the gym, as soon as they finished giving me a tour the sells guy took me to his desk and gave me prices, he said it was $99 initiation fee + 1st & last month, I was like no way then he said he will hook me up by lowering initiation fee to $29 & monthly will stay the same, he told me I could pay part now and have a balance, I said I would be back & he started getting mad ask me why I came in a rode tone, I wasnt expecting to pay that much, so I told him if he will hold the price for me, he said he would and that he didnt care if I walk out. . A week later I came back because I really liked the gym and its near by, so I was willing to pay about $90 to sign up, well I get a new sells guy and he tells me its $50 initiation fee, or $29 with $34.95 monthly he tells me the offer ended on the 31st, thats BS cuz the first guy said he was going to somehow work the system to charge me as an "add on" the $29 initiation fee, and the 2nd guys says it was an offer,. All they want is your money and they cant even be nice about it, you better of going to Costco and buying the 2 year contract for 24 hour fitness it cost $315, comes out to about $12 /month. And it gives u access to any gym.

Ive been going to this gym for about 10 yrs now, and this one is home for me. As, far as the br/ changing area womens side looks pretty clean. There is plenty of machines, and weights to get the job done. Although sometimes the weights are scattered because of people not putting them back where they belong. You can still easily find them within seconds. I love the classes for working out. Yoga is really good. I also enjoy zumba, its a fun class if you dont want to do the regular boring machine cardio. I also think that the boxing cardio class on monday nights are good. Ive probably tried all of them. Overall there is a lot of variety. I dont know what people are complaining about. Ive been to 24 hr fitness, wasnt the same. I also went to another la fitness in hb, didnt care for it. La fitness in cerritos gets the job done, and the people are pretty friendly. = )

This gym is a petri dish of bacteria. The equipment remains broken for months; no one monitors adherence to rules; customer service is abysmal; and worst of all, the locker rooms, restrooms, showers, sauna, jacuzzi, and pool are poorly maintained and unsanitary, filled with trash, clumps of hair, and pools of foul water. Customers sweat all over equipment and walk away. Others hog up equipment for an hour when people are waiting. Wads of gum collect on the elliptical machines. Weight machine upholstery tears, handles erode, and equipment fails but is never repaired or replaced. Air conditioning is usually off; hand sanitizer dispensers are usually empty, and the employees have poor customer service skills (from receptionists to managers).
