I signed up with FITNESS 19 in August. While working out my first week I noticed that they didnt have a way for the clients to sanitize the machines after use. I approached them, and asked if I could sanitize my machine after working out; they said not to worry they would wipe it down later. I told them that while I was working out 3 different people had used the machine next to me without anyone cleaning it. They said not to worry. A week later I cought a cold. Got over it, went and worked out the following week...again I got sick. This time I was SICK for TWO MONTHS. I recently called to complain, I spoke to the manager and this is what he told me when I confronted him about the uncleanliness: "If you want a clean gym I suggest going somewhere else. We wipe our machines down at the end of each day, if that doesnt satisfy you, find a new gym." With the swine flu, mad cow, the virus I had for 2 months, and the stomach flu going around, would you really want to work out at a gym that doesnt care enough about their paying clients to sanitize?! THINK ABOUT IT! They dismissed my concerns about everyones health. They are a gym, shouldnt they care about their clients health? Doesnt make much sense to me.

Dont pay attention to the bad reviews. My sister and I have been going to this gym since september and love it. We feel comfortable at this gym unlike others that we have gone too because everyones down to earth and doesnt dress up and do their makeup to come work out just to be seen. As far as the staff is concerned everyone we have encountered have been friendly and helpful. A big plus was that when we signed up we got a free session with a trainer named lara Perrow, which changed our workouts from 2 hour sessions to 45 minute sessions, that gave us both better results. With our proper diet and her workouts my sister and I have both lost around 20lbs each and 5 inches off our bodies. If your looking for a fancy gym this is not the gym for you, but if you are looking for a place where the people are friendly and really care about your goals and try to help then this is the perfect place for you. If you want your machine wiped down before you use it then bring your own wipes its not their responsibility to clean up after each person. I would and have recommended this gym to all my family and friends and you too. THANK YOU LARA FROM KARISHA AND KARA!

These guys are a bunch of rip offs! Once they have your account # they will NEVER stop charging you despite how many calls you make. I had to cancel my ATM card and then they claimed "They will send me to collections" i had no terms of contract and as a consumer I should have been able to cancel my membership at any time. They produced a membership form and where is requires a signiture. They put I signed by phone. Lousy gym for the money and all they care about is geting your dues and never letting go like a scumbag pitbull. BEWARE BEFORE THEY RIP YOU OFF! just goole fitness19 complaints and youll find HUNDREDS of letters from former clients turned VICTIMS! Not happy with Fitness 19. They increased our bill without notification. They charged me triple my usual payment a week ahead of my usual bill date. Also they do not have a way for you to cancel your membership over the phone or on the internet, you must do it in person. When they told me this on the phone, they failed to mention that it has to be cancelled through a manager whom are not there on the weekends. So I drove there on a Saturday just to go back home. Then, I went after work one evening and surprise, managers arent there after six either! So to cancel I had to take time off from work. When I told the manager this as I was cancelling, he informed me that I could have mailed a letter all along. Bad communication and bad management.

I belong the Healthnet Insurance, which includes a membership to fitness 19 in Citrus Heights. For the past month I have been trying to locate the owner or mgr for information regarding the membership. I have called on numerous and have even visited but none seems to know what to say to my questions. I did speak to the (owner) and was told he was with a client and he would call me back, well that has been so long ago I forgot when... If they no longer wish to have that type of membership please let me know instead of ignoring my requests.This facility is the best location since I live in the area.. I certainly need help!

The place is nice and clean and a pretty good atmosphere, BUT the staff wasnt nice at all especially the manager! My family and I were asked to leave, and they called security on us, but we didnt do anything. They had been picking on our family since we signed up there, for example telling us we couldnt sit and wait, saying we couldnt use the benchs to put our weights on!!! And like following and watching us to make sure we didnt try anything i guess? It made no sense and when we tryed to ask why they were focusing on us, and this little skinny girl just said to leave, worst expierence ever.

I been a member of this gym for a few years now. I absolutely love it. I used to go to one of the bigger box fitness places and paid high dues for amenities I never used. Who would want to pay high dues to go into a swimming pool full of people sweat. Be honest... Do you really think they shower before jumping in the pool? I am glad I found this place. Has all the machines I need to get fit. The place is always clean. The employees are awesome! The personal trainers keep me motivated. All for low monthly dues. Trust me try them out, youll love them also!

Been a member for 5 year now and its been great. Jennifer, the opener, is always on time and has smile on her face. She opens at 5 am sharp! Enrique, Bosue, and the whole staff is awesome! Club is always clean and doesnt have stink. Its a smaller gym but why pay for things I dont use? Free weights, cardio and machine weights is all I need. The also offer kids care too! Highly recommended.

This gym feels like family, the staff is nice too, very helpful. Cant wait to see what this gym looks like after they finish the remodel, the few times I have called to ask questions it is nice to have someone actually pick up the phone,!! Moving to fitness 19 as my gym was a good choice, I would pick this gym again if I had to do it again

I have been a member of Fitness 19 for five years. I absolutely love the facility. The people that work there are friendly, and so personable. They are always there when I need them. Plus who can beat their rates? Their gym is always clean, and it seems as if their employees are always cleaning. I would not want to be anywhere else.
