I have joined several gyms over the last 12 years. I heard about CrossFit in general from a friend. Then I accidentally happened upon Rocklin CrossFit while driving by one day. I have been looking to join a new gym, but this time I was being very careful not to get stuck in some contract that I would be sorry about later. I decided to check it out. The people at the front desk were very informative and knowledgeable as well as professional, they didnt try to push or sell me on anything, they simply informed me and let me make my own decision. After thinking it over a few days, I decided to write an email to RCF for additional information. Todd one of the owners wrote me back immediately....we communicated through several emails and phone calls. Todd was quick to reply every time and was patient with all my inquires (I had many). When I went in for the first time I was a little nervous, but the trainer Sarah was very welcoming and ensured that I was informed and understood how to do each exercise and that my form was always correct. Safety in lifting is very important to me, because the last thing anyone should want is an injury while trying to improve their health / strength right?! My nervousness soon dissipated and I was enjoying the workout. I cant say enough great things about my first few visits at Rocklin CrossFit. As I mentioned I have been to several gyms/bootcamps etc over the last 12 years and Rocklin CrossFit is ranked #1 in my book! Because, the trainers/coaches are attentive, they take the appropriate time for the newbies, and they dont stop teaching/instructing on a specific exercise and form until they "know" each newbie "gets it". I took different classes so that I could see the consistency between trainers and quality of the program. I saw both and decided to join! I believe Rocklin CrossFit is the gym that will take me to the next level, with their quality trainers/coaches and the awesome workout plans they offer. Im very excited to transform my body over the next 6 months. Thank you Rocklin CrossFit for caring about quality when youre hiring your trainers and creating your exercise programs. The challenges are great too! .....and to the person that commented about the price...Im the last person that would join a gym that cost more than $14.00 — $50.00 per month, but when I saw the quality in this program, I decided it was worth it. My family has been hit hard by the slow down in the economy and Im still finding RCF worth it. Ive paid trainers $50. per hour at other gyms that didnt care about my form like these trainers do. Ive also paid $100.00 per month for poor quality trainers. I would rather pay for "quality" trainers and a great workout program then waste my money on poor trainers and feel ripped off at the end of the day. Oh and the clients.....they are the friendliest Ive ever come across in any gym Ive been in yet! People at RCF are not fake, they encourage you to come early because the clients and trainers/coaches like to socialize a bit to get to know each other. RCF is different than any gym Ive ever belonged to! I LOVE RCF!! PS Im not an employee and I dont know anyone at RCF.....as I said, I just accidentally found it while driving by one day to run an errand.

Ive been doing/attempting CrossFit WODs on my own for about a year (Id check web sites and take down WODs. Most of them, I couldnt accomplish. But I was still intrigued and wanted to take my training to the next level. I am smart enough to know that I needed help with technique, but paying for a personal trainer seemed expensive, and after a few go-rounds, I never really got what I wanted. So, I tried Rocklin CrossFit (RCF) through GroupOn! My first reactions: Gary Baron runs a tight ship, and his "programming" (the WODs he designs) are creative, challenging, classic CrossFit, and always different. His energy and enthusiasm is infectious. His trainers are all certified (I think), very knowledgeable & experienced, and (from Garys lead) emphasize technique and proper form over the number of plates on your bar. I started most of my lifts with an empty bar. Their motto seems to be: Either Do it Right, Or Dont Do It. Technique comes first. As a beginner, Ive never felt pushed, uncomfortable or singled-out. However, the RCF trainers have modified my workouts for me since Im several months post op, shoulder surgery. What Ive learned: Why Did I Wait So Long??... If youre like me, youre thinking that you need to get in shape in order to do CrossFit. I was SO WRONG on that one. Its true what they say, in about 15 sessions, Ive seen all walks of life having fun, working their asses off: elite CrossFit competitors (which is cool), young, old, guys, gals, in shape, and way out of shape. As diverse as everyone is, they all have in common a deep desire to push themselves, have fun, and be part of a really cool community. If youre looking for the right "box", check out the others, and then come see RCF. I think youll be impressed.

This is a top notch crossfit gym. They have excellent instructors and take their time with each client to make sure you technique is good and safe. Everyone treats you like family and is so down to earth . i have tried other gyms that had poor instruction and all their members were overweight and looked out of shape. They have HIGH LEVEL athletes and totally regular people that go here and it works for everyone. I have seen so many different types of people make great personal accomplishments with the coaching here. To the person that gave them a poor review: I am NOT an instructor at RCF... just a happy member that has seen my fitness, strength, form and overall health climb leaps and bounds while here. How can you say they have bad instruction when they had a journal, dedicated to the sport of crossfit, write an article about how TECHNIQUE IS KING at RCF? You clearly are writing a bad review for your own personal gain. I am also a gym owner and I can say from experience on running a gym that the instructors are very professional, knowledgable and personable. Look at their Yelp reviews! All five stars... but you always get some crazy person that gives a bad review.. If you want to be apart of the best crossfit gym in northern cal, then look no further than RCF. All you have to do it try it and make your own mind up.
