-*****My star rating is NEGATIVE 5. ***These people stole my girlfriends wallet. I had taken her car to get washed on a Sunday morning (crowded) and I was unaware she had placed the wallet under the passenger side seat. It had check books, cash, all of her cards, DL and weighed nearly 2 lbs. with change etc. it is a littler larger than the size of an old VHS tape; black leather, zipped up wallet, clearly NOT trash. After returning home my GF informed me the wallet was gone. I returned to the car wash about 60-75 mins later, after searching high and low in the house and car etc. The person behind the counter walked me to the guy who checks you in and explained the wallet was missing. They were seemingly "accommodating" by starting to sift through the trash cans where the vacuums are. He told me that some of the trash from my car had already been taken to the dumpster. Odd that he would be that perceptive as to when my car was there. The car is a dime a dozen. He asked if I wanted to look in the dumpster and I said yes. He took me over to the dumpster which was over half full. Within 5 seconds, he grabbed a black plastic bag that had been tied up and placed in the dumpster and said, "This is one of the bags of "trash" from your car." How, on a crowded Sunday morning, would he KNOW this particular bag was trash that came from MY car in a dumpster 2/3 full after numerous cars had come and gone before and after my being there? Inside the bag, was the wallet. It had been looked through, check books taken out and cards moved. Clearly it was looked through to see if it was worth stealing then placed in the dumpster only to be returned for later. This was NOT something that could be easily put into a pant pocket. There is no possible way this was an accident. The wallet had been rifled through and placed back into the bag and into the dumpster. The bag came from our car. So they found the wallet under the seat, looked through it, took the bag that was already tied up in the car, untied it, put the wallet in the bag, tied it back up, then placed it in the dumpster. They leave it for a few hours or until the end of the day to see if the customer notices and comes back for it. This way it can appear to have been inadvertently thrown away if they get caught. We had $95.00 cash in the wallet. Who looks through a wallet full of check books, credit cards, a DL and visible cash, then throws it away? Wouldnt you turn it in? Or steal what you want out of it like the cash or credit cards and THEN throw it away?? ANSWER: The people who are going to come back for it later and can appear "innocent" if anyone shows up. If the customer doesnt realize anything has been taken, the worker(s) go back to the dumpster and take your things home with them. Yes, I am thankful that I was able to retrieve the wallet. I will NEVER go to this place again. I would strongly urge you to consider going ANYWHERE else to get your car washed.

No integrity. I wish I could give this place negative stars. Long story short - this place breaks stuff right before your very eyes and refuses to take responsibility! Avoid at all costs! I took my X5 there yesterday morning for a quick wash while I waited for The Lab to open a couple blocks up. I dont live in Costa Mesa and have no reference, so I went into the first place I found. I watched as the staff drying the car BROKE my windshield - I dont just mean a chip - they put what started as a 18" crack that has grown to almost 3 feet in 24 hours. I WATCHED them do it, but of course, they refuse to take any responsibility. Paul, the owner, wont even take my phone calls to discuss - he punts me to his manager, Jesus. I filed the report before leaving the premises. They tried to tell me first that the crack was already there (even though it grew by 2 inches right before everyones eyes - old cracks dont do that. You can clearly see where the rear-view mirror was hit). Then they changed the story and said it was due to cold water hitting hot glass. It was 56 degrees at the time I filed the report, and even so, is Jesus trying to say that they just shut down in the summer months because the glass gets too hot to wash? I think not. I saw that someone from South Pacific has responded to some of the reviews on other websites, feigning innocence and pretending to care. Dont buy a minute of it - these people know full well what they did, and they knew right from the get-go that they were going to stonewall me on any kind of response. I will GLADLY retract every word if these people do the right thing and take responsibility for what they broke. OEM glass for a 2009 X5 is almost $1300. My insurance company (USAA) will be going after South Pacific, but I have to pay my deductible up front. Like I said, I dont live in Costa Mesa, so I have no reason to visit this POS facility again. But you can be sure I will tell my story far and wide. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

BAIT N SWITCH WARNING SCAM and DANGEROUS. Driving down the street I saw a sign for a wash at $6 with a free vacuum. I was in a hurry but needed to wash my car because of bird droppings. Once I pulled in the BAIT n SWITCH was the free vacumm was if I did it myself. If I wanted to pay for the vacuum it was an additional $10.00. (There is NOTHING on the signage out front indicating self service, additional costs or any price change from what they advertise as six bucks for a wash and vacumm) Being disabled, vacuuming my own car in a hurry was not an option. What is DANGEROUS is the idea of customers working on vacuuming their own cars in an active set of lanes with other employees and moving cars. DOES THEIR INSURANCE, WORKERS COMP, the STATE, OSHA etc know of this potentially harmful practice? Is this safe for their employees as well? I wonder if anyone has reported them to OSHA let alone the BBB or Department of Consumers Affairs for FALSE ADVERTISING. When I proceeded inside to pay the now new pricing they had many signs and flyers of other price points all including "quote" free services etc that in fact were also BAIT n SWITCH, again without identifying conditions or changes. The cashier when asked, literraly played dumb and said "I dunno" trying to quickly change the subject. As to the actual car wash, well every dash board item like wipers was turned on when I started my car, the seat took forever to readjust and I was amazed an employee could make so many changes to my settings in a short time period. Oh and I should mention a couple spots still had bird droppings, so the wash itself was crap. Expect to pay additional hidden costs, get a crappy wash and potentially work along side their employees if you go here.
