I was referred to Hye Tech Auto by a friend when my car broke down. I have always been very skeptical when it comes to auto repair shops. John, the owner, told me to bring the car in to check it out. When I arrived he was talking to an elderly couple who were satisfied with the price and work done on their car. I didn’t want to be nosey but I did hear John, the owner, talk about how he has just started up his business and wanted customers feel like family. “Come by this weekend and we’ll have a Bar-B-Q here on the lot”, is what he told them. I know it sounds kind of cheesy but that made me feel more at ease. I took my car in because it would shake when I stepped on the gas pedal. Within minutes he had my car hooked up to a machine and figured out the problem. He showed me what the machine read was wrong, showed me the actual part on the car, and showed/gave me the part he replaced (all without ever asking). He told me to come back in a few hours and after changing a few parts my car was running better than before. He also went above and beyond by changing a couple that needed to be changed. John and his mechanics were very professional. He did a great job, didn’t try to get me to fix something else that wasn’t needed at the time but said to keep an eye out for other future problems. I was amazed with how I was treated. He even called a few days later to check how the car was running. Never have I had a mechanic/owner do that for me. I will definitely keep bringing my cars here to be service and recommend it others. Wrote the above review in 2010 when I was first recommended to John. I am adding to my review because I have read some bad reviews and people commenting that the excellent reviews must be from the owner. I have been going to Hye Tech Auto for several years now and have never had any problems. I also have compared prices and get estimates from other auto shop and John always has the best price. He genuinely cares about his customers. Not only with me, but I hear and see all the other happy customers when Im there. Im a real, satisfied, loyal customer who has recommended both friends and family to this establishment. 1/22/13

Been taking my cars here for a few years now. Their work is always excellent. Prices reasonable/ competitive. What motivates me most to drive to Covina from Diamond Bar when there are plenty of closer auto shops? Trust. When John, who I have always assumed is the owner, tells you about your car and whats wrong and what needs to be repaired now you never get the feeling that he is lying, or simply exaggerating, to pad the bill a little. I cannot say that about most of the garages and mechanics that I have taken my car to in years past. That feeling you get at most other garages, that the words you are hearing sound suspicious, or fishy, if you prefer. At Hye Tech Auto I always feel like I am hearing the truth. Simple honesty goes a looooong way. Also, in the recent present, I have been sending my mother to Hye Tech. They have always been very respectful, and helpful to her. A few weeks ago, when I was out of town and unable to help her, my mother needed some repairs on her car. One of the mechanics, Javier, drove her back home to Diamond Bar. On the way, she got the route home mixed up a bit and what is usually a 15-20 minute drive took them over an hour. There was never any complaints, and now I cannot take my mother with me to drop off mine, or my wifes car, without her having to head toward the garage so that she can chat with her friend Javier. Nice people, good service, and honesty. What more do you want from your auto shop?

They did what I asked them to do, but it took almost two weeks when they said it would only take 3 days. then when I started up the car to leave from the shop, there was a rattling noise which they tried to tell me was already there before I took it to them. im not deaf i would have heard the loud rattling noise before. after haggling with them about it they fixed it. only a couple weeks later I started hearing a different kind of rattle at low rpms, figured out that the hinge bolt holding the alternator on was not tightened so I had to spend an hour fixing that myself, which wouldnt have been necessary if they had done thorough work. they didnt destroy my car but i wouldnt go back there again and i wouldnt recommend them to anyone. AND HONESTLY, ALL OF THESE 5 STAR REVIEWS LOOK PRETTY FAKE AND ARE PROBABLY WRITTEN BY THE OWNER and in response to the reply that the owner made: somebody would have to be stupid to believe that these 5 star reviews are real. theres a reason that their review of hye tech is the only review that these usernames have ever done. its probably some computer generated program that writes them. PLUS, they sound like advertisements not real people. so if there is somebody that is writing all of them, they arent very good at making faking reviews.

I had a bad oil leak on my Honda for a little while and had been putting it off. Eventually I decided it needed to get done so I found Hye Tech Auto nearby. I took my car in and John told me he would do the diagnostics and waive the fee if I got the work done there. He quickly found the culprit of my oil leak, along with a few other issues that would need to be addressed eventually. He quoted me a price immediately following the diagnostic and repaired everything, charging roughly the same price he gave initially. 2 months later I ended up getting my timing belt replaced, which had already gone over 70k miles. He had previously quoted me the price to replace it, warning me it would need to be addressed, and he honored the price. All in all Im very satisified with Hye Tech Auto. John clearly has years of experience troubleshooting cars. I was most impressed with his level of knowledge, which I guarantee exceeds that of your average mechanic. Go with Hye Tech Auto and you wont be disappointed.

If you are reading this and looking for a place to bring your car... look no further.. I started going to John because of reviews I had read.. and they all praised him to an amazing degree.. Thats what I am doing now..because they ARE that good there.. I have never had a problem and I have been to Hye Tech a few times... he has kept my 2003 Ford Focus with 120,000 miles on it going like clockwork .. Im hoping to be bringing it to John for at least another 80,000.. come on John.. I know we can do it UPDATE: Used John and his guys until I sold my 2003 focus with 160,000 miles on it... the last hundred miles were helped by Hy-tech Auto.. they kept that car running like a dream.. I just bought a new car that has warranty until 36,000 and then extended until 100,000 so I know from 36,000 to as long as this car will run I will be going to John... very trustworthy place.. great mechanics and fair to deal with.. I have never had any issue with John... by far the best Mechanics shop around
