Four years ago, I had my engine replaced and entire car gone through by Center City. I chose Center City because a friend had worked there who I trust and I had heard good things about them. My cars engine had about 200k miles on it (90s toyota Corolla) and since I loved the car, I felt it was worth it for me to invest a couple thousand in getting the engine replaced and fixing any other major problems. I found an engine for $600 through online research and communicated this to them. When I got the bill, the engine rang up over $1000. They informed me that they marked up the engine because they go through every engine before they install it to make sure its in good shape. I asked them if they also charged me for the labor to go through the engine, and they said they did. After raising some hell, they reluctantly refunded $200 of the marked up engine. After having the car for about 3 months, I noticed that I was consistently losing oil, so I took it back in. They responded that they saw no trace of burning or or leaking oil (they gave me a 6 month warranty on the engine). Although I wasnt sure what to think, I stupidly gave up because I was tired of doing battle with them, and began taking the car to another shop for regular maintenance. The other shop found a bunch of minor issues, including some loose parts which resulted in an oil leak, but I kept losing oil at varying rates. After taking my car in this last time, the shop informed me that they found a ton of old engine oil on the misfiring spark plug and that the engine I had replaced 4 years and 20,000 miles ago is on its last leg and couldnt have been gone through only 4 years ago with the major problems it has now. You can imagine, I feel pretty stupid for taking my car to Center City.

Friendly staff, great service. They dont try to sell you things you dont need. Highly recommended. Call to schedule appointment. University Honda advised me all brake pads and front rotors need to be replaced on my 09 Odyssey. Knowing that it is not covered under warranty, I said no thanks. University Honda quoted $900 for just the brakes replacement with labor. Brought the van in at Central City Automotive who quoted me 700 but the total turned out to be only $450 (front rotors replaced and new brake pads just the front). they said I still had 45% left on my back brake pad so no need to be replaced. I really have a problem with University Honda advising me to service the brakes when I didnt need to. Thankful for Central City Automotive. Doug was super helpful. I told him I wanted all brake pads to be replaced and front rotors, but he told me he would check them first before doing the job. He couldve just charged me for what I asked for but took the initiative to save me money. I really appreciate that level of customer service. This is my second time using them. First time was a major tune up for my 07 Corolla. Again that was great. Very honest people who are work in your interest.

They are very helpful, supportive, and honest I called them for an appointment. They were too busy and no appointment time for a week! So the guy asked me about the problem and I explained my cars issue to him. Then he simply explained me what is the issue and ensured me that what I have seen in the car is not an important problem and I can delay the repair for couple of years without any further damage in the engine and the price of fixing the car afterwards will be same as today! He could easily tell me come and fix my car and take 300 bucks from me, but instead he was honest and told me the truth. I appreciate it and well-done

Took my car in to check for rattling sounds. Promised time was 1 hour but took 3 hours. It turned out to be that they could not find any problems so I took my car back originally with 50$ out of my pocket. However, they just checked brakes and thats it. A couple of weeks after that, I took my vehicle to other auto shop for tire rotation and they told me that my tires are worn out and need to be replaced. I guess center city is just too lazy to take a look at my cars tire, and they are not very professional.

Took my wifes Honda in for a oil pan gasket change. They changed it and it leaked. Returned to the shop and they changed it again and this time put some sort of extra sealant on it which fixed the problem. No questions asked, no extra charges, just immediate great service to take care of the problem. Could have been from a defective or cracked 1st gasket or ??? These guys are great. Have been getting great service from them for years. I hope they never retire!!

These guys are the best set of honest mechanics Ive dealt with in a long time. They always find and fix the problem in the most cost effective way possible. They can get busy sometimes, but always get back to me and set up an appointment quickly.

Fixed my old Toyota pickup when it needed a new clutch. They found an old 5-speed, put it in, and it has worked perfectly ever since - several years now.
