I came in with a blown out tire. I hated the tires and wheels i had on the car they were these 24" rims and really small tires that scraped always so when that happened I decided to replace them all with normal wheels and tires. So I went to Skips and dealt with a man named Ken. Ken was very nice and knew what he was speaking about. When he first quoted me the price it was more than I really more than I wanted to pay because I am trying to get into a new apartment and need the money for down payment and rent. So I looked at pick and pulls to get new tires and wheels cam up with a big fat zero. Ken told me about there credit card which was 6 months no interest and I got approved for 3K so I figured lets do that and while they were at it I wanted a diagnostics because I had a check engine light and needed to register the car. So they did this and it turned out that I had a bad coil which was causing the check engine light but also that my motor mounts were shot. This was due to those stupid cool looking rims and wheels. That took the bill up to 2900 which was still in my credit card limit. Was I happy ...no but it was the truth and this needed to be done. So now it is Thursday and I am supposed to get the car today and Ken calls me saying he has good and bad news. Well the good news is the wheels and tires were in and the bad news was that my rear tie brackets were shot. He showed them to me and he was right. So basically 1 bad tire turned into a 3500 bill but I will tell you I am still happy with them because they are thorough, honest and straightforward and that is all you can ask for.

I purchased during the years many tires here....I guess because of convenience...two close to my house. But that will stop today!I got 2 tires for my vw a year ago.At the time I was sold ,together with the new tires, Road hazard insurance- a coverage that is carried by Skipp!.Last week the car starting vibrating on the right hand side ( passenger side).Upon inspection I discovered a small bubble.Today I went to the store where I explained the situation and one of the persons working the counter that the bubble will be created either by the a manufacturer defect or by running into a pot hole between other causes.I said OK and when he wrote me up he said That I do have Road hazard insurance but that does not cover it.He did tough had the audacity to charge me for the new tire I installed today , 2 of them together with the old one that I told him to replace Road hazard insurance. When I came to pick the car ,the guy doing my paper work was surprised that their insurance did not cover the damaged tire. I asked him to remove the charge for insuring my tires ($54- USD)since is just a joke and I do not need to buy it.He removed it , SO DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS STORE FOR YOUR TIRES, IT IS A JOKE AND THEY WILL TRY TO FIND ANY REASON NOT TO HONOR IT. I will also place a complaint with the CA Consumer affair ,BE AWARE. I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Super unprofessional, inexpert, bad customer service, and dishonest staff. These are the reasons I would NOT recommend this place and will not go back there again. We gave our car to them for a brake job; they charged us $600 and delivered the car without having brake working! They told us we did test-drive the car! Imagine you drive your kids in such a car on crowded streets without even you know your car does not have brakes! Not even JUST that, they introduced new problems on the car. They messed up the car lighting and signals; the headlights are no longer auto-turning on. Also, when either left or right turn signals are chosen, all 4 corner signal lights (front and rear) get on!! You could imagine that the cars behind or ahead would have no idea which side the car is turning because all 4 signals are getting on. They claim wrong things and as a lady below stated correctly, they replace parts which are not required to be replaced to charge customers more. I mean who does that!? They have no sense of professionalism and nor honesty. We are very disappointed of this unprofessional, careless, and inexpert place. If there was a zero-star on the rating, that would have been more than what I should have rated them.

Had the worst experience ever today. Came in with a flat tire. Served by Josh who told me they needed to order part in (10:00am) and would be ready this after noon. He said he would call once it arrived. I called him at 4:00pm where he preceded to tell me it was a glitch in the computer system and it was not ordered(bullshit). At least take ownership for the mistake. He told me to come back knowing I had 2 little kids and he would put my spare on until new tire arrived on Monday. So I went back the second time, what a joke again. Once again no apology they left me and 2 kids in the freezing cold while someone changed tired. Josh just walked off, I went inside to wait 30minutes later I had to go and ask what the hell was going on. His response oh its ready the keys are in the car. Worst service from beginning to end. Unfortunately I paid in advance. I plan to call manager on Monday. Dont go to this place, worst customer service and overall experience ever. I would rate zero if that was possible.

When I first arrived at skips they saw I was trying to get my infant out of the car and came outside to see what they could help me with which was very nice. I was there to get an oil change and the shop did not appear to be busy at all. They told me my car would be done in an hour most likely but it could take up to an hour and a half tops. I went for a walk and they said they would call when my car was done. After an hour and no call I walked back thinking my car surely would be done soon. Nope, they were just driving it back to start the oil change. They kept telling me my car was almost done when it obviously was not. Almost an hour later my car was finally finished. It was my first time going to skips as I had a free oil change from a sharks game. I appreciate the free oil change but I will never go back again. They could not complete a simple oil change in under an hour and a half and it is very clear that they will serve customers getting more expensive work done before you even if they come in after.

This is an OK Skips location, but I prefer the one at Cottle Rd. I brought my car here many times, and sometimes I have the impression that they nickel and dime you too much. They charge you to "diagnose the problem". How can they fix it if they dont diagnose it? They once wanted to charge me for a "stripped lug nut". I asked how that happened and they said someone had over-torqued the nut. I said that car had only been repaired at Skips, and more specifically at this location (true) and the argument changed to "Ah, but this also happens sometimes if the nut is corroded". For a $1200+ service, being charged $30 to replace a stripped lug nut (which was probably caused by their own mechanics over-torquing the part) is a bit frustrating.
