The managers at the Emeryville, CA, Extra Space Storage office, are always courteous and efficient. They are knowledgeable and accommodating with everything. Recently, I had to change units, from a smaller to a larger, with code changes and paperwork needing to be done. Everything was done very quickly, I was shown the new unit, given the new code, the old code was expunged, and I was in the new unit within an hour. I also had to have a PODS unit dropped and emptied the same day. They were very accommodating and arranged to have the PODS unit picked-up and taken away the same day. The units are safe, well-organized, monitored, and efficiently placed. There are three dollies available and elevators are always accessible. Everything, thus far, has gone smoothly and quickly. Im not sure how their prices compare with others, but the peace-of-mind that I have, makes working with them well worth it. I highly recommend their location and managers--Emeryville, California. Check it out.

The facility is quite reasonable, perhaps a bit on the pricey side, but you do have a knowledgeable staff thats accountable. The facility is new and clean and well designed. I attribute my low rating to the move-out experience. I moved out on July 2. I spoke with the manager who informed me that that I still had 2 weeks left to my month. I explained that I would not need those 2 weeks and she could credit the time back to my card. She informed me that the company did not issue refunds. Huh? I thought this a strange and arbitrary policy. After all, this isnt a commercial or residential real estate agreement, where the landlord would require time to vett and secure a new tenant. This is a storage locker. They can rent it tomorrow if they receive an inquiry. I responded that this policy was arbitrary and punitive. She shrugged at me. Annoying end to an otherwise reasonable service.

I first went to Public Storage on Shellmound and 65th… BIG mistake. The property manager there is a complete ass, and it takes a lot for me to say that about someone. I quickly cancelled my reservation there and went to the next closest place: Extra Space in Emeryville. The difference was night and day. Lesea was very sweet, the place is IMMACULATE, and they supply all the moving accessories you could need. I was skeptical about having a fourth floor unit, thinking it would make my move that much more cumbersome, but their facility is amazing: big, convenient elevators, large doors, and free dollies/carts. I only had bedroom furniture to move, but the entire process of signing a lease and completely unloading my car -- all the way up until I locked my units door and drove away -- took less than ninety minutes. I will definitely come here again.

This is my second time renting at this location. This time I rented for my aunt who is going into a retirement home. The first time I rented was with a lady name Jewel a couple years back and this time I was met with a smiling face from Claudia. My first experience wasnt so great but this time Claudia really made up for it. The property is well priced and she was able to get my aunt a unit that worked for her needs. Every time Ive come the location has been clean which is a plus. I also have a second unit at the Fallon location and it is a little older but still same great service. I would highly recommend this location and Claudia. She made my aunt feel comfortable and this location worked for my aunts freeway access she needed. Claudia thanks for making us smile and Extra Space is lucky to have such stellar talent! We appreciated you!

I did quite a bit of comparison shopping online for various facilities in Oakland/Berkeley/Emeryville before deciding on Extra Space Storage in Emeryville. The facility is new and immaculately kept (it almost looks like a high tech office building) and has excellent electronic security. The manager for that day, Serena, was extremely friendly and helpful, and made our rental process smooth and easy. Moving carts were free and available, and I was able to back my UHaul directly up to the door which made unloading easy. Especially with the first month free (and no minimum duration of rental), I think youd be hard-pressed to find a better value anywhere else in the area. I was very happy with my experience there and have no reservations about recommending this facility highly.

I want to take the time out and let everyone know that EXTRA SPACE STORAGE, in Emeryville is GREAT! I called and talked to Tonya and she was so pleasant and a great listener. I told her my situation with having to move suddenly after loosing my home. She was actively caring and invited me down to take a look at the facility. After showing me a few units, I made the choice to store my beloved items there. PLUS ITS SO CLEAN. I MEAN REALLY REALLY REALLY CLEAN and I loved the atmosphere of the other renters I met while touring the facility. I also met Jewell and she was also very nice. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A STORAGE COMPANY COULD BE SO MUCH MORE! EXTRA SPACE GETS EXTRA STARS FROM ME. thanks so much, Mr. Simmons.

Lesea Benitez was the most professional, courteous, and competent customer service employee I have encountered in a long time. Not only was she calm and gracious under pressure (there were 2 phone calls and another on-site customer whom she was helping at the same time as she was helping me), but she problem-solved my transaction with no mistakes and was upbeat, friendly, and helpful to all 4 of us customers on top of it! Leseas top-notch service is one of the main reasons I would choose Extra Space Storage again should I need it in the future. She is a model for what customer service can be at its best and is a key asset in my opinion to the business. Thank you, Lesea!

Lesea Benitez (assistant manager) is the greatest. Hands down would never store my things elsewhere.I was leaving the country the next day and she stay late to help me move in and find my storage unit. She went above and beyond and I cannot thank her enough. The place is beautifully maintained and very secure. Not to mention, the prices are much fairer here than any other storage place in Alameda county (and trust me, Ive shopped around). Lesea, thanks again; not sure where Extra Space Storage would be without you. Let alone the world. We need more people like Lesea around in everyday life - take note Google+ people!! Thanks again Lesea - your are the greatest!!

Overall an A+ experience. It was quick and easy to sign up for a space, and the on-site manager was exceptionally helpful in helping me choose the right size space for our stuff. The building itself looks good enough to be a pricey live/work loft building, and I joked with the manager that if their storage business slowed down they could turn it into lofts and sell out quickly -- but I doubt that will ever happen because it seems to be a very well run business, and is the cleanest storage facility I have ever been in. Kudos to Extra Space Storage for a great business model -- and a very attractive building design.

Amazing Experience. Made a reservation and an appointment but showed up a couple of hours early, and wanted the space two days earlier. No problem. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave me a lot of info and made sure I understood all the options and features of the facility. The facility itself is amazing. Very clean, well lit, and they have ambiance music playing for those nights when youre there later at night. Speaking of later at night, they have great hours 6am-10pm access. Make sure to check online for reservations to get great deals and discounted rates.
