Writing reviews is not typically something I do, I usually go out of my way to just tell people in person that they did a good job and typically I am a very easy going highly satisfied person. Today I feel the need to get on here and talk about my experiences in the past 9 months with the Folsom California Family Fitness. First off, the place has constant broken equipment. There is almost always a broken treadmill, or some pulley machine down. One night I went up and counted 7 treadmills that had service signs on them. One experience I had in particular I got on one treadmill and turned it on, the belt did not move and I tried increasing the speed and still nothing. I turned to my right to get off of it and all of a sudden the thing turned on to the speed I had set. Im not going to make more of it than it was, I stumbled and got irritated but that was it. However, that was the same treadmill that constantly has issues and service signs on it. It took two times of talking to someone at the front desk to even get a sign put on that one. As far as the front desk goes I have never seen more useless employees in my life. They stand in huddles just talking and doing absolutely nothing meanwhile I have witnessed banana peels lay on the floor in the lifting area for an hour before someone picked them up. Oh and in the middle of summer I really loved it when the gym had no working water fountains....and had no other means of water unless you purchased it. Nothing like finishing a workout and looking for water to find none available. Or a bucket in the middle of the floor to catch a water leak from the roof in the winter? Classy. I know the gym cannot help it but just for pure irritations sake I also cannot stand being a member of a gym where it is just a social hangout. I pay a membership fee every month to use WORKING AVAILABLE equipment and when there is just crowds of people standing around because they arent serious about a workout that just pisses me off. I want to cancel my membership before my year contract is up because CalFit has not held up their end of the deal to provide a good experience, called corporate and they wont even work with us on a "satisfaction" level. So they can have the remainder of my money and I will be sure to post this experience on Facebook as well, and they sent me a survey that I wall quite happily fill out. Too bad they didnt care to just refund my last month. Would have saved them a lot of trouble.

i am disappointed in family fitness! I am paying monthly dues. In addition I have paid for training sessions which I have not used. This is my third trainer, as last one was fired and the one before had a schedule conflict. There are many sessions still outstanding which I have not been able to use because of the schedule conflict among trainers availability. I understand all that. Having said that there is a 400 due from me for 2nd contract. I have not been able to goto the gym and talk to the fitness manager. Collection agent Rochelle keeps calling me and actually threatened to block the access to the Gy. which has been paid regularly. If you are blocking anything, please block training after I have used the sessions I paid for. Seems like administration is more interested in collection of money rather than fitness of members. I will be paying that 400 and canceling my membership, go 24 hours or the new lifestyle gym opening soon by Costco.

All the amenities at California Family Fitness are truly awesome! I love that CFF offers such a diverse menu of exercise options. I went from literally not working out at all to taking boot camp classes, running, and swimming...and after my fulfilling work outs I enjoy all the R&R amenities including the spa, sauna, and steam room! And the best part of all is that Im able to have my 2 toddlers cared for in a safe environment at the Kids Club where I am only foot steps away! And it doesnt stop with the amenities...the activities for kids are a huge perk as well. We just finished first time swim lessons there and they turned out to be well worth the time for our 2 year old. My only complaint is that the entire family is sad when its time to go home:)!! I have only been a member for 3 months and I can honestly say that CFF has already improved my familys quality of life...thank you CFF!

Folsom location is very clean, up to date and employees (except for one) very nice. I have been a member for 8+ yrs and primary use the racquet ball cts. Theres a lot of players here migrated from other clubs. Players like to play with a multitude of players. Playing with the same few people gets boring. Here there are always new players joining and non rbers picking up the game. Also former players see the excitement and dust off their racs. Soon after if back into playing, buy the number one racquet brand E Force on the market. (proven by research) Since I have been here the general managers ( 2 since Ive been here) are always attentive to anything bought up by the members. Especially the rball community. Thank you Chrystie and Olivia ! All members especially rb ers love to be appreciated for their membership.

Ive been coming here for over a year now, and Ive tolerated the crowded pool and work out rooms, but to get kicked out of the womens locker room before I had time to shower because the police needed to remove someone from the locker room takes the cake! All of us ladies were not told anything other than to "Get outside right now!" So I went outside, and changed (no shower) in the outside bathroom. Sweaty and smelly, I went to the front desk to ask what was going on, and all I got was a terse "We cant say anything." Whoever manages Cal Fit needs to do a better job of crisis management - you need to communicate SOMETHING and you should have found an alternative for us ladies who need to shower before going to work. Now Im going to go over to Broadstone - I think they have showers and I wont be kicked out of them.

This location has pretty good facilities but they get very crowded around rush hour. I rejoined the club and just canceled today after asking what I need to do to cancel at the front desk about 2 weeks ago. CFF makes the cancellation process difficult with fine print in the contract that the sales folks dont cover with you. There is a requirement that you cancel several days before your last payment and you make one final payment before youre free. Cancellation must be in writing and submitted only between 9 and 5 Monday - Friday. You can sign up anytime on any day but cancellation must follow these strict terms. Then you have to pay one additional payment! Thats just adding insult to injury, for me.

Ive joined a few gyms in the tri-county area over the years, but California Family Fitness in Folsom made me feel welcome from day one, and continues to appreciate me every day Im there. I love my personal trainer Adam Pilkenton as he is both tough and caring, while making sure to concentrate efforts to my old work injuries. He teaches me something new every day, and is always thoughtful to keep my workouts interesting while making sure I dont go overboard. I highly recommend both California Family Fitness and Adam to family and friends. My daughter and husband will be joining, as well.
