I purchased a $100 Groupon voucher and still left paying $165 out of pocket AND despite all that money the stylist DID NOT DO WHAT I ASKED. I had Jr. Stylist Lilly and I thought my hair style request was pretty simple. I wanted a trim and long layers (basically a clean up of what I already had) I also already had a grown out ombre color/highlights that I wanted retouched. NOT THAT DIFFICULT people!! I waited a month to write my review (1) bc I was so put off by my experience that I wanted to make sure I only wrote about the facts and not a little extra flare. (2) I was hoping to "get used" to my new hair and it would eventually grow on me - NOPE! The cut is fine, I have no real complaints about that other than she cut too little but whatever, better less than more with hair cuts. As far as color, she gave me 2 options of pretty much the same thing. Highlights only (no color) for $190 or highlights only for $230. I asked her what the difference was, and she said that the more expensive option will require a little bit more time (30 min) therefore the cost goes up. Ummm so you give me one option were you do a half assed job or I pay up $40 extra dollars for you to do the job I wanted??? OK I guess Im the sucker for opting for option # 2. I have naturally dark brown hair that picks up color very fast and I told her that it does beforehand but bc "she knows better" she did not heed my warning and over bleached my hair then used a toner to make it darker. So basically she got rid of my already existing blonde highlights bc she F-ed up on the ones she did and made all my hair one color. So instead of the ombre I wanted and paid for, I really have grown out highlights that need the roots retouched. I WILL NEVER GIVE LUX ANOTHER DIME!!!

For the best experience, do your research. (I should have done more research on this salon.) The 1st time I went, I got the great deal with Groupon, scheduled a two hour appointment with Jordan. Asked for gray coverage and platinum blonde and light blonde highlights no cut. Price was fair $135, and I have long hair and that included the conditioning treatment she talked me into. And I did get a hand and arm massage but not neck and back and the real let down was no scalp massage! Unfortunately, Jordan got the color wrong. The roots are dark and there are no platinum streaks and the color isnt right. I wasted 2 1/2 hours and my hair came out worse than before I sat down. I told her exactly what I wanted and she seemed to understand but when the hair dried the color definitely wasnt as discussed. I really dont think the extra "conditioning treatment" did much of anything for my hair. The stylists are sales people for Aveda products I posted the above and the salon owner(?) Called me. We agreed I would meet with Amanda, a "creative director," a more experienced stylist and see if she could fix my hair. (I declined the refund offer). This time, I got the works: hand&arm massage, neck&shoulder massage, and awesome scalp massage. More importantly, My Hair is Beautiful. (I can still see where the base is too dark, but thats just me, I dont think its really noticeable to other people.) Amanda was very nice, professional, knew exactly what questions to ask to find out how she would do my hair and she listened. My advice, dont use a Jr stylist. Spend a little more to get someone with more experience. You will likely have an OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE smokescreen the salon with BEAUTIFUL HAIR

I have a lot to say about this salon! First I would like to comment about how accommodating the staff was. At the front counter a girl named Lauren greeted me with a warms smile and offered me refreshments before my appointment (which is always nice) I had the tea.. it was pretty good. NOW TO THE FUN STUFF So I am so impressed with my final results of my hair! a very talented senior artist named Becky worked on my very curly biracial textured hair. to be honest i was so nervous coming in this salon.. I wasnt sure if I was going to walk out looking like a thundercloud LOL but I was amazed with my results. I like my hair funky and "foxy" and she added golden highlights all over the tips of my hair which gave my curlyfro a lot of dimension! it came out beautiful.. it really did.. I really appreciate the time, thought, and care she put in my hair.. I could tell it was a difficult task but she worked right through it and really took her time. OH AND A BONUS with lightening my hair with bleach the color didnt dry out my hair.. I havent received breakage at all! :D which is a super plus I will definitely be back to see Becky again! and you should give her a call! she is true artist!

I have been going to this salon for over 8 years, there is very little parking, you can park across the street and jay walk. I have never once had anyone who works here complement my hair, while I have been happy with the cut, I see othe clients who have people falling all over them about their hair cut. I once actually asked if one person was one of the owners the way every one was responding to her. I have been through 5 stylists in the last 8 years, 3 have moved on, two are still there. The last time I went I left with my hair still wet, after 3 hours I had to go, I knew she still had to style me and cut more, I just couldnt see and additional hour to complete my short hair with a color weave. The salon had scehduled someone in between, so while I sat there waiting to be cut, my stylist had to wash and condition the other client, 20 minutes later she started my cut. I just wonder where managment is, and how they monitor their stylist.

I originally came here through a Groupon discount, but Ive stayed because the girl that does my hair is awesome and they are so gentle and dont push their products at me. Sometimes when Ive gotten something through Groupon places will try to make up for the discount through upselling me, but not here. And I happen to really like the natural Aveda products. The girl who does my hair is so personable and shell do extra little things like give me a neck or shoulder massage while my hair is processing. I usually get a trim and a color every six weeks, otherwise the gray will come back in. But the dye lasts about four or five weeks, so I feel taken care of and always leave the salon feeling fresh and pretty.

Went recently to get my hair done & Loved it! I wanted a balayage & left satisfied. All my life ive gottent my hair doen at so many places, but I realized that I am definitely sticking to Lux! Karina did my hair perfectly! All my friends & family love my hair & want to go there to. You get a massage and they offer you drinks. I love how they sit with you & talk to you about how your hair is and what exactly you are looking for. All the women there are super friendly and make you feel comfortable. Highly reccomend this place, might be a little pricy, but worth it !
