I was hunting through the reviews for a good place to eat when I found windan sea cafe. As I read good review after good review I became impressed-and hungry. So I jumped into the beach wagon and trucked over. Had to hunt for a spot, but found a good one. I couldnt wait to meet the owner, from what the other reviews say, he values every customer. WRONG. As I walked through the door, not only was I not greeted, he actually greeted the people behind me walking in- completely ignoring me!! They then passed me to walk around to the ordering area (the place is laid out weird) where they began a conversation- this 17 year old girl that he seemed infatuated with!! (she was not a relative, just some old custmr) I walked around to the ordering area, anxiously waiting to order that roast beef sandwich that I had set my heart on earlier when I was reading reviews. I was still being ignored....then the owner gives me this weird stare and an empty "hi". As if he didnt notice that I was the first person in the door. He then looks back to the 17 year old and "gives her a hard time" in his own words. I thought to myself, is this guy on something? I walked over and grabbed a lemonade and back to the ordering area. At this point the owner starts asking other customers (who are sitting) if the need to pay, etc. At this point Im thinking what the F... Ive been standing here feeling like a dope for almost 10 minutes. So I left my lemonade on the table and left. Dont even try this place. I hope this pedo leaves town soon. I am a real business owner and I would never treat a customer the way I was treated. Even the other patrons could see there was something wrong. Most awkward experience Ive had in a few years.

The only thing that could detract from this cafe in my opinion would be if it became a popular spot. So Im torn whether to downgrade my rating just to protect the pleasant anonymity of this cool and delicious cafe just 2 blocks from the incredible Windansea beach in La Jolla. Vihak greets everyone coming though the door and gives personal attention. He has the self-confidence to direct customers thru the artfully tuned menu to choices unexpected but ultimately satisfying--"youll like the feta cheese, I dont use any other cheese and if you dont like this its free". I had a tuna sandwich with avocado: no mayo but a dash of oil and a snap of lime(?) gave this old standby an exciting new twist. Ill make it a point to visit Vihak again next time Im here.

Im a postmates delivery driver and went here to pick up an order for a customer. What I experienced was the most rude customer service of my life. When I first arrived, I let them know that I was there to pick up an order. The owner would not listen to the order I was there to pick up. The lady working the register, whom Im assuming is the owners wife, would not allow me to get a word in to verify what the customer had ordered. I was disgusted by the way they treated me and of course they got part of the order wrong.

I love this place. I used to come here about 3 times a week while I lived in California. I moved away to Texas but after thinking about living in California a few years back, this place is still worth 5 stars to me. The owner, Vahik, is a great guy who loves to socialize with his regular and local customers. The food and smoothies taste AMAZING, and is well worth the wait. The atmosphere on the interior of the store is very cozy as well. Just take a look at Googles 360° view of the interior of the store.

Would absolutely come back. My wife and I went on every day of our vacation. Breakfast sandwiches are delicious. My wife had one with scrambled eggs and goat cheese and there was a ton of goat cheese on there. Very well seasoned too. I had the Windansea breakfast bagel with ham on a sesame seed bagel. The bagel was fresh and delicious and the pesto was also perfect. Great service too. Great lunch sandwiches. Very good coffee. Absolutely recommend.

We stopped here after having moved from La Jolla almost four years ago because we remembered how good it was. We were not disappointed. I had a yellowfin sandwich that was simply fantastic! My wife has a yellowfin salad, which could have fed 2 to 3 people. It was equally delicious. Vahik is also a great guy on top of preparing excellent food, which makes this a place you need to try.

My wife and I were walking along La Jolla Blvd, saw the Wind and Sea Cafe and stopped in for a coffee. Even though the place was virtually empty, the owner took over 10 minutes to get around to making us a coffee. When he did finally make it, we discovered that our 16 oz coffee only had about 8 oz of coffee in it. Avoid this place and its thieving owner.

Vahik has created a wonderful cafe with a basic and healthy menu ranging from coffee to sandwiches and salads. Both Vahik and his wife are very welcoming and thoughtful to each and every customer that walk through the door. I can see why people always come back. If youve never been to Vahiks Cafe then I highly recommend you stop in. I love this place!!!

Very special place. Small and quaint. Owner puts LOVE into the drinks and delicious food. We locals thrive on it! Little patio in front ads an extra dining experience. Great food and you can cruise the web while breathing in the fresh ocean air. See you there and order the Mayan Mocha - YUMMM!

Excellent breakfast and smoothies. We stayed just around the corner so parking was not an issue. We enjoyed eating outside on the elevated deck and watching the traffic go by which consisted largely of scooters and bicycles. I definitely will come back if I get the chance.

I always try and schedule my business meetings as this cafe. They offer amazing breakfast and lunch. I am addicted to their coffee. I cant get enough of it. It can get pretty packed on the weekends but during the week it is very mellow.

Its a small and charming place with a welcoming aroma and vibe. I had a wonderfully pulled espresso and quite possibly the best chicken paninis ever. Prices are very fair and my panini came with a generous side of greens.

Sandwiches and salads are very good and interesting, what the chef knows is good, and likes himself. Horseradish is on roast beef w/o asking...to me, thats a plus. Friendly too. Not fast but that misses the point.

Looking for a place to eat that is out of the crazy traffic, this is the place. Dog friendly. People friendly. Love the photos on the walls. Coffee definitely worth the drive. Food better than most coffee shops.
