I dont usually write reviews. I USE them like crazy (Google, Yell, Amazon, etc) but always forget or find an excuse not to add to the community of reviews. But for a place/program like this, I couldnt resist. +The Workout Ive tried an array of gyms/workouts throughout the years: standard big name club membership gyms, crossfit boxes, seal team group workouts, similar mainstream fitness companies that use the heart rate theory, etc. While some I really enjoyed (cross fit), others left me tired but not all that inspired to make it on a consistent basis. None, however, compare to the level of motivation and drive I have waking up at the crack of dawn just so I can get my fix of Aussie fitness for the day. You wont find yourself running a treadmill for half the class, but you will be smoked by the end of every class. Each class is different, built around different themed days and target muscle groups, but one thing is constant: a great damn workout. Disclaimer: it is not Crossfit, and never claims to be. If you are looking to Olympic style lift and set PRs, this place is not for you. When asked by my friends though, the easiest way to describe it for me is as "a lighter crossfit." Your heartrate soars, youre dripping sweat, working box jumps and plyrometric moves, pushing sleds, hitting deep squats, and everything in between. Again, youre not throwing massive weights over your head or doing endless kipping pull-ups. But if youre like me, your workout goals dont necessarily revolve around setting a lifting PR each day. I really enjoyed my years crossfitting, but after doing F45, theres no going back. - The Cost I wouldnt be giving a fair review if I didnt acknowledge the one drawback: the cost. But it comes with a caveat. Its pricey. It is. Compared to a standard flat rate general gym membership its going to seem outrageous. But when compared to what you pay elsewhere for anything other than a generic gym membership, it is no different. Whether its F45, yoga studios, crossfit boxes, or any other great workout program, you are going to pay a bit to get pushed to your max. Personalized training isnt cheap. But if you can find other splurge areas to cut back in order to fund it, you wont regret it. +The Atmosphere A huge aspect of any gym is the people, both the coaches and those attending the classes. The coaches are second to none. Whether its the local trainers or the Aussies who Luke and Evan (the owners and head trainers) have recruited to join the La Jolla team, every coach wants to be there and wants you to reach new bests. Similarily, everyone who attends want you to succeed as well. After every class youll find sweaty and exhausted people high-fiving each other for a great workout. Everyone puts out for 45 minutes and everyones pushing each other to get the most out of each workout. The pumping music that can be heard out of the doors only helps to add to the incredible energy in the room. Its an extremely inclusive group, welcoming all new comers who quickly turn into daily regulars. ++The Aussies F45 is a international brand that has pushed from Australia to the US and has caught on fire since. The company seems like a great one to work for and is always is adapting workouts and improving upon past successes. I know I be happy with any F45 Id walk in to. But what sets this gym above the other F45s in the area are Luke and Evan. Whatever I write wont do these guys justice. At first glance, youd think they are yoked rugby players that can crush a workout. And you wouldnt be wrong. But more than that, they are the most welcoming, humble, motivating, and just generally great dudes youll meet. Theyve built this place from day one around a great workout program, a great vibe, and a community of people that want to train hard. And theyve done that and then some. I cannot say better things about this place. Give it a chance. Take the one week free challenge. It will no doubt be your first week of many.

Ive been to several gyms that do HIIT circuit workouts, but F45 is by far the most fun. The trainers are welcoming, friendly, and always attentive to form during the workouts. Prior to becoming a member last November, I was using ClassPass because I didnt want to commit to a single place (I get bored quickly), but F45 has so much variety that I wake up excited to go there every morning. The workouts and overall layout are very organized, which I greatly appreciate. I love the use of the screens that display the exercises because youre never confused about what youre supposed to be doing. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my favorite because they focus on strength. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are cardio days. Saturday seems to a be combination of strength and cardio. Street parking is usually readily available for morning classes. La Jolla is a bit busier in the afternoon, but I usually find parking within 5 minutes if I drive around the block a little.

This is THE BEST GYM AND STAFF I have ever seen or experienced in a long time! In some classes they have up to 3 instructors on the floor pushing and motivating members !!! Trainers with genuine and caring attitude on the floor! The gym is super clean and organized. The music and video screen visuals are awesome too! Just go there in person and see the gym and classes for yourself , talk to Evan or Alicia, you will be immediately impressed! Good luck . Thank you Alicia, Evan and the rest of great Australian , KIWI and American staff for awesome workouts! Best regards, Reza Badei, La Jolla, CA

This place is truly amazing. Within 2 weeks I saw a change. Within a month I saw transformation. Mind & body. The instructors beyond great. They really take the time to help you achieve goals and care about everyones progress. Theyre motivating and great to workout with. The classes are great because theyre quick and fun. Before F45 La Jolla going to hour long work out classes were a pain but I look forward to F45 classes. I really cant say enough great stuff. I encourage everyone to try this and the results will best review! This place is 10/10!

Ive been looking for a way to get back into strength training, and F45 has been the perfect solution. The workouts are never the exact same, some days are more focused on strength training, some days more aerobic, but you never get bored, youll get one hell of a sweat on, and you definitely get your moneys worth of training. The owners, Luke and Evan, are great instructors and motivators, and bring some authenticity to this Australian born workout. Give it a shot, you wont be disappointed!

If you are looking for a good work out, this is the place to try! The workouts are all high intensity and strength classes. I love that every class is different and yet fun. Evan and Luke, the owners, are legends! They challenge and motivate you every class. Not only are the work outs amazing, but they offer challenges for members that give nutritional advice. Highly highly recommend this gym - its awesome!

By far the best work-out Ive ever done. The F-45 trainers are amazing and foster an incredibly motivating environment. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic work-out with experienced trainers who find the right balance between challenging/empowering you and helping you modify to fit your bodys needs.
