If I could leave no stars I would. My experience with EOS has been absolutely horrible. If you have any intention of not using this gym for the rest of your life, I would strongly recommend you not sign any contract with this company. This is what happened to me: Knowing I would only be in San Diego for 6 months before my move, I told the people who were signing me up this ahead a time to be sure I was aware of all cancellation fees. They told me, after much probing on my part, of the fees for cancelling both the personal trainer contract and the general membership. I felt pressured to signing up on the spot, perhaps a sign of personal weakness. Nevertheless, I signed up for the 24.95 a month membership and the personal trainer program. I was happy with the facilities and my personal trainer, though I do not support the way the trainers are treated by this abominable company. When it came time to cancel, my experience was (and still is) a nightmare. I called three times a day for nearly a week trying to get in touch with Justin, who I am overjoyed to hear no longer works at EOS and I pray never works anywhere again that involves customer service as his arrogant attitude and dismissal of all issues not related to his personal standing is completely unforgivable. I got no call backs, no emails, no confirmations, and needless to say no cancellation of my accounts. I finally found a wonderful human being that works at this cesspool to give me the number of their financial services company to cancel the membership on my own. Though Justin had originally guaranteed he would be able to waive the 50$ cancellation fee for the personal trainer (though when he refused to send me that guarantee over email I realized he was lying), I thought it best to go through the financial services anyways and just pay that fee so as not to deal with that self-righteous individual. The first time I called I was told the membership was cancelled, it wasnt. I called back again the next day saying I never received a confirmation email and they informed me it hadnt been cancelled so they cancelled it and gave me a confirmation number and that was the end. Or so I thought. Three weeks later Ive received another membership charge! Ive been on the phone for the last hour talking to the people at the gym and the financial services trying to get the charge refunded. Turns out they got a new financial services company that started April 1st (two days after the other company cancelled my membership!), so they have no record of my last two phone calls with the other company. More likely than not, Ill also be charged for the personal trainer. Sorry to the employees at the front desk who have been helping me, I wish you only the best. Youve always been pleasant to interact with. For those who read this entire post, perhaps you wont have this kind of experience--I hope not. And for those who have no plan on leaving the gym in the foreseeable future, its an okay place. The movie theater room is often too loud and hurts the ears, much of the equipment is outdated (plugs on machines designed for the original ipods, TVs hardly ever work), but its not a terrible gym if its convenient for you. Id argue there are better gyms nearby, though. This is absolutely ridiculous.

This gym has great potential with the low rates and all the available facilities. However, the back areas are very poorly maintained. The back bathrooms always smell terrible and are never as clean as the others. The gym mats are not properly cleaned through out the day as they should be. This can cause all sorts of skin issues such as scabies, staff infection, or even merca. The mats should be regularly mopped with bleach atleast 3 times a day with the amount of traffic. I constantly find weights as well as dirt and dust all over the mats. The gym staff seem to have no understanding of keeping shoes off of it as well. Ive been thinking about posting this for a while now but it wasnt until last night when I found a dead cockroach on the gym floor next to the mats that I had to draw the line. Step up your cleaning EOS, before someone contracts some skins disease from your gym. Health and safety should be the highest priority for your customers next to customer service which is a separate issue you seem to have. Half of your staff do not seem to care at all, they just seem to be collecting a pay check. I see them texting and talking all the time when Im waiting in line to scan my card. You could put up a self scanner out, and have those staff members clean more. I hope you take this into consideration and your gym could be top notch. Thank you

This place is the absolute worst. I signed up for this gym in 2013 when it was golds gym. First of all, this gym is disgustingly dirty. The cardio machines are completely rusted over from not being cleaned and wiped down enough. Second, their billing company is HORRIBLE. Several people that I know hAve had a really hard time canceling their membership, their billing company is a rip off and they probably get pleasure out of stealing peoples money. 3 days ago I was charged $60 for the annual renewal fee. I was already billed $100 for the same thing less than a year ago, so it doesnt really make much sense. I just called to cancel my membership. They continued to tell me that I will not be reimbursed for that $60 because of a contract I signed when I signed up for the gym. When I signed up it was golds not eos. THEN, the woman on the phone proceeded to tell me that I have to pay an extra month for the month of november after I told her I wanted to cancel. How is this right? If i am calling to cancel, i should be able to cancel and not have to pay $20 for the last month... ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. I feel completely taken advantage of especially because I have been a member at this gym for 3 years. I would never recommend this gym to anyone. Horrible place to give your money to. Absolute rip off.

They have the worst customer service ever. Their female greeters/receptionists are always texting or have their heads down working their cell phones & never say "hello" to anyone except those who they feel are cute guys in which case they are chatting with them endlessly while I wait till theyre finished chatting & then they register my membership card. I think they hire snobby immature preteens from an all girl private school or something. They need more smith machines & their incline bench press is almost non-existent since it you need to be a engineer to slide their flat bench press into an incline for incline barbell bench presses. Their receptionists needs better training in customer service & the crowd has 1 dude with a bert & ernie hairstyle who uses a flat bench to sit his ass on after doing standing dumbbell curls. I can only think hes an ass hole cos hes on roids and his Ego is inflated. Go elsewhere. The people who they contact to cancel a membership, never send a confirmation email that confirms a cancellation. I asked for their gym member services to do this 3x from 3 different people & still didnt get it. I mean how godamn hard is it to send a confirmation email evidencing that a gym membership there has been cancelled for 1 month as a result of tough times??!
