SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! EXTORT MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS. I am writing this complaint in regards to the experience I received at Fitness Evolutions new location in Martinez, CA. In March of 2014, My girlfriend and I joined Fitness Evolution after receiving an intriguing flyer in the mail. Two months later, we decided to cancel our membership and switch to a gym that is closer to our house. We came in sometime in April of 2014 and spoke to Caleb ( Front Desk Agent who they state does not work there anymore) about canceling our membership with the club. Caleb stated that since we have already taken care of the charges for the following month, we can continue using the facility until the billing cycle is over. We mentioned to him that we already switched to another gym and this will be the last time we are attending. He confirmed that the account will be terminated and we left. Two months later, we noticed that we continued being billed for the membership. We came in and spoke with the GM Bayley and Jordan ( Who stated she was from corporate). They informed us that our membership was not canceled and that in order to cancel we must pay for an extra 30 days despite the fact that we havent used the gym in the past 2 months and have been paying for that. They refused to take liability for Calebs actions and stated that there is nothing they can do and for us and that there was no contact information for their corporate office. We asked for them waive the termination fee since we havent stepped foot in the gym, to which they refused and stated they cannot do such a thing. I researched online and found a corporate email on their website. I emailed corporate right away and 3 weeks later i have not received a response. Today, 06/26/2014, I have made another attempt at canceling our membership at the gym location, but was treated rudely by their manager Bayley and Dezeree Velez, who stated they can now waive the cancelation fee in exchange for us paying an extra $38 per account to cancel. Since then weve filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau. BBB attempted to contact the gym 3 times and was flat out ignored by fitness evolution. (NOT SURE HOW YOU GET AWAY WITH THAT) We also disputed the charges with our banks. This resulted in us receiving a refund of our money. Update: 1 year later since we left the gym, fitness evolution has taken us to COLLECTIONS AGENCY demanding that we pay them nearly $1000.00 (For WHAT??????) They are extorting us for money. PLEASE be ware and steer clear!!!!

If you dont mind sacrificing your peace of mind, then this place is for you. The studio weight room area and machines are combine in one room. I can hear someone grunting, smelly sweat odor, and golds gym wannabe guys on the gym floor. The gym is usually full of ghetto young crowd. Some play their music on the phone speaker disrespectfully to others. The manager and their supervisor allow friends to hang out in the front desk. They pay their members to write good reviews on yelp and google.

Here on business got a chance to get a workout in and i chose to come here The staff here is amazing! Very polite the lady at the front desk was very nice and took the time to help me even tho she was extremely busy.. small weight room area but has all that u would need to get youre work in! If ever back in this area I will definitely be returning! Thanks #FitnessEvolution

My family and I joined 3 months ago. I have no hesitation in saying, this gym is brilliant! Really friendly and helpful staff, very clean and well maintained, fab range of machines to choose from, large cardio cinema room and without a doubt, this gym is exceptional value for money. A huge 5 star recommendation from me and all of my family.

Great place to train, quiet, not too crowded great machines, clean, didnt see one member on their cell phone sitting on the equiptment ,,pleasant change from 24 in concord , plenty of free weight (for me) and a great price , unlimited tanning #guidoproblems , hydromassage .. my new home away from home & work

Very small gym. Somewhat hard to walk around especially when other people are using the equipment. Gym in Pitt is better in all aspects.

Not bad for a closet gym. Its super small and easily crowded with only a few people on the floor. Definitely a poor location for a gym.
