Were getting ready for a big move and wanted a storage unit as a staging area to help us during our process. I reserved a unit on the companys website at a listed price, and then went in ready to wrap up the process. The employee was perfectly polite. But first I had to buy a special padlock that they provide for over $20. This wasnt communicated upfront online. This is shady, but within the realm of acceptable shadiness, I suppose. Then I got asked a bunch of detailed questions about what I would be moving into the unit. I have nothing to hide so I answered them as best I could (um, boxes of books, mostly?), but the questioning felt invasive. However, the last straw is I get this speech about how I have to buy insurance to cover my possessions. Very very important, so just sign right here. This was also not communicated upfront online. I say, wait, I have homeowners insurance, so Im good, thanks but no thanks. Then shes like, sign here and here anyway. I read the contract (I know, Im probably the only person out there who actually does this) and I wasnt comfortable with the language, especially once I noticed that this is a contract with AIG. Thats AIG. You know, the behemoth international insurance firm that helped drive our company to the brink of disaster. So Im like, let me just go ahead and cross out the lines on the document that could be interpreted as me wanting to be a customer of AIG. Then Ill sign. And the poor beleagured employee grabs the document back and is like "No, no, you cant change anything." So I shared with her my opinions about contracts of adhesion and walked out. This is the problem: I have the education and the finances to walk away when Im feeling exploited. The stakes for me in this situation was negligible. But Ive worked for a lot of extremely poor people who rely on storage units to help them keep their lives organized while they are marginally housed in this astonishingly expensive housing market: sometimes they need to keep precious personal possessions like photos and financial and medical records tucked away some place safe. I think Public Storage knows this and, like so many sectors of our economy, is bleeding people who cant afford to be bled. I dont blame the employee because everything about her demeanor screamed to me that she knows all about how sucky her employer is and feels powerless. But I am writing a negative review because I think such a large corporation should be held to higher standards. Stop exploiting your customers, Public Storage. Dont suck.

Cathy was a sweetheart and absolute pleasure from the first phone call, all the way through the entire leasing process. I previously felt other facilities seemed to nearly talk you out of leasing in the introductions. For some reason, she just made me feel welcome and that my business was greatly appreciated. The property is secure, neat and tidy, the unit was well maintained and very clean, no damage or leaks, the rules are strict and enforced to further improve on their security system and so my belongings are safe If you appreciate ardent professionalism, agile documentation handling smiles, kindness and respectful service, Cathy is the real deal and I strongly recommend this facility or any of the other public storage locations touched by this Assistant Managing customer service angel as the ideal place to store your things.

This is my first ever review on google because I thought that this place deserves it. Facility manager Jennifer was really helpful and accommodative. I initially booking for a smaller space but I couldnt fit my car in so had to switch but she made it all easy on effortless. Location is very close to the Montague expy, 680 and 880. Driveways inside the facility is wide enough for a car to pass through even when there is a truck unloading stuff on the way. With a 1 dollar first month offer this place is a steal.

I was there much longer than I thought I was going to be, but Judy made my experience much easier!. I even had to rent a second one at the same time, but she made the experience as painless as possible. Judy was always courteous and always offered helpful tips on how to pack things into storage. I was actually sad to say goodbye!

Cathy actually helped me with a problem happening at a different public storage property. I was looking for a new parking space and her location had been suggested. While her location didnt have the space, she helped me in getting answers that I was not getting elsewhere- this is going above and beyond. Id give Cathy 10 stars.

Judy have a great hospitality when dealing with tenants that has problem with understanding the rental agreement. She is friendly person and have great attitude. Property is always clean and her office is nice and organize. I would recommend this location to any of my friends and family to store their stuff.

It was our first time ever renting a storage unit. We welcomed with a friendly greeting from Judy on our first visit. Judy was very informative. On our second visit we met with Cathy who was also very friendly. This was an overall excellent experience. Thank you Judy and Cathy .

The manager is very friendly and professional. He called right after I booked the storage and made sure my moving date. On the day I came earlier than the appointed time but theres no problem at all. The only thing I dont like about this place is the early main gate closed time.

The staff running the place seem to have no regard for customer service. Office is closed during business hours frequently. And if you have an appointment, dont be early...or late either seems to be a huge inconvenience
