First, let me tell you how much I love my car! I have a 2004 Volkswagen R32 in candy apple red. I baby this car, its my pride and joy. I wont let anyone touch my car, not even the hand wash detail shops. I wash and wax my car every weekend. When I detail the inside I bust out the Q-tips. I am very very particular about my car, both inside and out. In October of 2008 someone slammed into the back of my car and destroyed my tailgate, taillight, bumper and a piece of my rear quarter panel. AAA insurance had recommend Magnussen Car West Auto Body in Mountain View. I was already familiar with the shop as my two older brothers had previously had their vehicles serviced there, and raved about the service. My car was in the shop for about 3 weeks (you cant rush perfection, I know this). When the car was finally finished it looked even better than it did before the accident. Everything was lined up perfectly and the paint was smoother and glossier than the factory paint job. I was very impressed. Recently (February 2010), a truck dropped a bunch of rocks and chipped-up the whole front of my car. I took my back to Magnussen Car West to have the car repainted. They repainted the entire car, installed a new windshield, new headlights, new emblems and so on. My car was in the shop for 4 weeks and I missed driving it, but when it was finally finished and I saw it roll-up I couldnt believe my eyes! It was like a new car again and even better! When I drove the car home the paint was so glossy heads were turning. My paint job was a distraction on wheels! Magnussen Car West, guarantees your satisfaction with their work 100%. Dennis, the manager is the most friendly person I have ever met in dealing with vehicle servicing. He made sure I was completely satisfied, and I truly am! I went over the entire vehicle with a magnifying glass and it was flawless, 100% flawless. I love my car and I love Magnussen Car West. I would recommend this place over any other. I have already recommended Magnussen Car West to several of my friends and at least one of my friends has had his vehicle serviced their recently. He also raved about the quality of workmanship. If you love you car, Magnussen Car West is the only place I would take it.

The quality of the work done on my car was good. But response and timeliness were not as good. On the Wednesday before, I called to arranged to get my front and rear bumper fixed. I dropped the car of on the Monday and was told I should get my car back by the end of the week. It took until the following Thursday for the car to be finished. The final sheet indicated the work amounted to be 20 hours for both bumpers total. On site, staff was very friendly and considerate. However, it was difficult to connect with them when I want on site. You can call the office directly or a central number for all Service King facilities (I think theyre a franchise). But, no matter who I called, I could never get in touch with my service rep. He was suppose to contact me on day two with additional info, but didnt call me until day five. I had to call three times and leave messages until then. I cant comment on quality of price, but they are upfront about costs. One repair was done through insurance and that cost more than the one we had requested separately. Overall both bumper covers cost about $1000 each to get replaced. Take that for whatever its worth. I would have to do more due diligence before selecting Service King again. Massive theyre good, but I was not 100% pleased.

My experience getting a running board fixed was very, uh, disorganized: 1 - I had to come back to the shop multiple times because they made mistakes with getting the part the car needed. It took almost a week longer than it was supposed to to complete a trivial running board replacement. 2 - I was given three different reasons for the part taking so long. I was told by one person that it was ordered incorrectly (wrong VIN sent to the manufacturer). Another person told me that it arrived bent and they had to send it back (blaming it on the dealer). The third person told me the part was backordered (also blaming it on the dealer). 3 - As compensation for all of the hassle, I was quoted three separate discounts at different times. One for $150 off, one for $230 off (this was quoted by the store manager), and one for $170 off. I ended up getting the $170 discount. I didnt complain or demand the bigger discount that had been quoted, because at this point I just wanted my car back. So, the price was good. The repair seems to be fine. Im not going back though. I just worry that any auto shop that is this disorganized about simple things, might also be disorganized about how they repair cars too.

I had an accident not long ago, the other party was at fault, but I was still dreading the having to spend time going back and forth with the insurance, the mechanic, then the car rental, etc., but Service King just took care of it all. They were so professional, on time with everything, and answered all my questions along the way. Erica handled everything for me, she called the insurance, she arranged for the car rental, she took care of it all. Juan was the person in charge of fixing my car, he kept in touch contacting me with updates and answering all of my questions. Finally, Tim walked me through all the repairs and he even told me to come back in 30 days (after the paint has settled) for a wash and a coating. They were all just wonderful and did an amazing job. Thank you very much!!!

I was so impressed with this company, which is especially shocking since car companies are notorious for bad service. Not this company. I worked with David and Erica and from start to finish the whole process was a breath of fresh air. I was rear-ended and I needed to get my car fixed quickly before we moved out-of-state. They scheduled me right away and even finished ahead of schedule. They sent me emails updating me on the status of my car and worked directly with the insurance company to work out additional damages. When I picked it up, it looked brand new! The paint matched perfectly and you could never tell the car had ever been damaged.

I recently had my "precious" Lexus seriously side-swiped by a large, heavy-duty (construction) pick-up. When I went to pick up my car, it was so pristine that thoughts of it having been in an accident were erased. Where ever the team at Magnussen did their "magic" I will probably never know because my entire automobile just seemed to look and feel new. Ray is the exec at this auto body repair establishment. I picked up my 2008 Prius yesterday. The front bumper was replaced. It looks like a new car as George Garcia also made sure all the marks on the side of the car were "no more". The repairs took 3 days as promised. But what I liked even more about George and Service King is the service. As I had no other way to get to the place they had someone take me home and pick me up when the car was ready. The office is spotlessly clean, everyone is friendly and it was simply a pleasure to do business there.
