Avoid this shop and find another AAA-preferred dealer. They take way more cars than they can handle and it reflects on the quality of their work. The repairs took twice as long as the estimated time. The staff is friendly, but communication is lacking. The total price was more than doubled without informing me and all that extra work was done without informing me. Sure, the insurance is paying, but it would be nice to know more work is being done before its done, not after the fact. Once the work was done, the paint job was good, but several exterior and interior parts were missing. Moreover, the interior of the car was dirty with clumps of some adhesive or sealant. I cleaned it off with a few wet paper towels, but it left me disappointed. They do terrible quality assurance checks. I have to assume they hope that customers dont notice. Frankly, this is not a place where you want to leave your car. Theres better shops out there that care about the details. Pros: - Good paint job - Friendly staff Cons: - Expect repairs to take double the amount of time they tell you - Expect little communication during repairs - Expect some missing parts after repairs: a nut, a bolt, plastic caps, rubber liners, etc. (stuff that most people dont even notice is missing on first glance, because hey, if you might not notice, why should they?)

My car got backed into and some of the paint on the rear bumper was scratched off, no body damage. The other person had Farmers Insurance and suggested this place. Farmers was easy to deal with here, no hassle at all on my end. At Akins, Patrick helped me. He was very nice, to the point, and helped me with everything I needed. The work its self was estimated to be 3 days long. I dropped it off Tuesday morning and picked it up Wednesday night! I am very happy with the results and the costs were significantly cheaper then the other estimate I had gotten on my own. The only weird service I had was with the front desk. I think it might be a bit disorganized or is in need of some better communication. Overall I will go back to Akins if I am ever in need again. Thanks!

Save yourself the trouble and find another AAA-authorized dealer. Have had to take my car in twice (AAA customer). First time (I thought was bad) - took them two weeks over the estimated date. Im usually pretty patient but 2+ weeks over the repair quote is quite a lot... Second time - its been over 1.5 months and repairs are still not complete (we were quoted 5 business days). Not reliable, terrible follow-up (0 communication if you dont reach out day after day). Go somewhere else if you would like your car back within a reasonable time. If you work at Akins and are reading this, please hurry up. Thanks

We sent our car to Akins in Santa Clara as suggested by State Farm. We had a previous estimation of around $1000 for the back bumper damage. The Akins evaluated and told us its about the same. When they opened the car they told us the cost would be around $2200! How can they make such a bac And we didnt authorize them to open the car yet. So we decided not to have them repair our car. Then they ask for a $128 for opening the car, another $128 to put back the cover. We felt like this body shop is not honest and can NOT be trusted.

Ive used Akins several times, sad to say (my driving not the best). Each time, whether insurance or I paid, George and Vicki were wonderful - professional and courteous. Even painted tiny scratches for free. I will certainly continue to use and recommend. Service went from crumpled fenders to suspension.

I had never dealt with the insurance company in this manner before and the rep at Atkins knew all the answers to my questions and some questions I hadnt even thought of. He was able to get my car in and me into a rental car in no time with minimal hassle.
