RUN!! DO NOT take your vehicle to this auto body. I wish Google offered a neg star rating because this place isnt even worth 1 star. I was involved in a auto accident a month ago, with my brand new 2010 car. My car was t-boned by another vehicle. My auto insurance recommended this place as one of their preferred shops. They had an onsite insurance rep that took care of everything, along with onsite car rental, which I was very pleased with. They put on a good show and made me think they were capable of taking good care of my car. My car was finished 14 days later, which I thought was quite a bit of time (they quoted 6-7 days the day I dropped it off) but I thought they must have took their time to make sure everything was excellent. The onsite insurance rep was not able to do the walk-around the day I picked up my car, so the shop assistant stood in for him. He was very pushy and quickly tried to rush me through the inspection. At first glace I noticed 3 items that were not right. A broken air vent inside the door panel, the inside door lining was coming off the door and my floor mats were covered in boot grease w/ boot prints, not to mention greasy finger & hand prints were all over the inside of my light grey interior. When I pointed out these flaws, the mechanic came out to fix the issues (with a huffy attitude). They told me they would have to order a new vent and it would be in within 2-3 days, I could bring my car back at that time. The quickly fixed the lining and told me that they would detail my car when I brought it back for the repair of the broken vent. I agree and left with my car. Within one day of driving my car, several other hidden issues came to the surface. The first ride on the freeway, I heard a huge howling of the wind coming from the two passenger side doors. I tested the doors thinking they were not shut properly, to find that I could slip my hand between the door and side bar (where it should be sealed tight). When I tried to put my passenger window up and down.... it would come up very slow, like it was getting stuck on something. Half way up, the window actually came off the rail and buckled the lining, causing the window to slide outside of the door. Along with other door issues.... the job was a complete MESS. I refused to take my car back for repairs. I took my car back to the dealership where I purchased the car. The in-house collision department could not believe the job that was passed off as acceptable work. Being involved in an accident is already stressful and time consuming, especially when it is not your fault. You want to have good faith that the auto body shop will take care of everything for you. This experience was absolutely horrifying and I would hate for anyone else to be this places "experiment", with allowing amateurs or newbies take on a major repair. I also wanted to add in, the shop manager and insurance rep assured me that new doors were used on my car, later to find out from the dealer that the doors were used. The even showed me a bunch of dings that were covered up under the door panels. **If you search them on Yelp you will see pictures that I uploaded of their horrible work***

I had a small incident with my cars tail gate which unfortunately resulted in having to replace the whole tailgate (parts, labor and painting). I found Mountain View Body Shop through GEICO, as they are part of the Auto Repair Xpress program. Out of all the participating body shops in the area, Mountain View Body Shop had the highest Yelp rating. I did shop around and found that the prices were rather similar, but the service was significantly different. I decided to go with this establishment. The whole process was great: I brought the car in a bit earlier than the scheduled time and there were people immediately available to help me. The manager came out to look at the vehicle and do the walkthrough and the GEICO representative also took me through what this meant from an insurance perspective. It was great to have both people there live walking through and explaining everything. They kindly offered to give me a ride back to my office which was an unexpected pleasant surprise. The work was done within the estimated budget and the vehicle was delivered exactly on time. Throughout the entire process I received relevant e-mail updates and I only called in on the final day to arrange the pick up. The only constructive feedback I have is that the car could have been cleaner upon delivery (some ink marks where scratches / dents had been initially identified and the inside had dusty footprints) but in the overall scheme of things this is a very very minor point. In summary, I had a great, streamlined, hassle free experience at Mountain View Body Shop and will surely come back in the future.

I recently got into an accident, and I had my car repaired at MVAB (Mountain View Auto Body) because they have an agreement with my insurer, Geico (which is owned by Warren Buffett and therefore demands good prices). One of the features of this agreement is that the shop stands by their repairs for the lifetime of the vehicle (which for my Toyota, could potentially be a pretty long time!). The repairs were done quickly, and the quality was excellent; if I had a shop whose repairs were of that quality, I’d feel confident making a vehicle-lifetime guarantee. Also, the front-desk staff was competent, immediately available upon my entrance to the shop, and answered the phone quickly when I called; in today’s era of massive business-world budget cuts and the resultant understaffing, these features of a business cannot, unfortunately, be taken for granted by a consumer. In short: if you want a repair job that’s well-priced, quick, and frictionless, you can’t go wrong with MVAB. Until and unless they let me down, because I’m quite happy with what I got from them, I don’t need to search for an alternative, and once you’ve read this review, take my word for it that you don’t either.

Ive used Mountain View Body Shops services twice now - both times after someone or something dinged my car. GEICO lists them as a one-stop shop where you drop off the car, pick up a rental and come back when its ready. The first time when I picked up my car, I discovered a new dent on my door (the one they fixed). I pointed it out to them and they reviewed the before photos and verified that the dent wasnt there. It looked like the door was put on a nail or something from the inside. It was a bit of a hassle, but they fixed it and the second time when I came to pick it up, it looked as good as new. I appreciate them owning their mistake and fixing it, but would have preferred they caught it themselves. I dont want to think about what I would have had to go through had I not caught that. Last week I left the car with them again to fix a new dent and when I picked it up, it looked perfect. Obviously I already am a repeat customer. I would recommend them. I would also recommend doing a walkaround when you pick up your car. Thats probably good general advice.
