After debating for 9 months, I managed to get myself off the couch today and went into planet fitness to change my life, or so I thought. In the fitness community I feel like those of us that do care about our health and want to make changes to it are supportive, lift one another up & fight through. Those who WORK in the fitness community, I feel should offer the same thing (support, guidance, help) to their members but this was not the case at Planet Fitness. I felt completely shut down and wondering what these people are after? Helping the fellow man? or Cash? Was in there for about three minutes, was completely ignored for the first two. "oh, hi maam. can i help you?" I told him I was new to the area & would like to try the gym out. He hands me a paper and says, "theres two memberships, blah blah blah," with his robot pre programmed dialogue to say to new members. "So I cant try your gym out?" I say. "You will have to pay the day rate which is $20." So, you are telling me that I am going to pay a price of $20 for a day rate when your membership is $20 + $10 a month?" I stated. Ugh, I still have a bad taste in my mouth. If you cant offer something that your "members" are going to want to try out at first. At least make it look like you are not after our hard earned $$$ in a place where it is already difficult to live. Wont be going back, I saw Dimond Health Club that looked like a ma & pa shop gym. Ill try that out. Thank Planet Fitness! (thumbs down) The staff was completely unprofessional and was downright rude. Will not recommend.

This Planet Fitness is pretty much what you pay for. It is cheap, so you know not to expect the best, but it is good for being cheap. I find that its about as clean as any gym Ive gone to. They have cleaning stuff available. If you are complaining about it being dirty, clean it yourself and be curtious to others, lazies. They have plenty of equipment. If you want, you can sign up for some cool stuff like tanning beds and massage chairs. The only complaints I have are that there isnt much space for stretching and they dont offer very good classes. The instructors dont really know what they are doing and ask you what you want to do. The reason I went to the class was that I wanted someone to teach me how to work out and not ask me what workouts I like doing. If you arent a gym snob, then this is a good place for you.

Seeing as I travel alot, planet fitness is a good fit. However, this location is by far the most nastiest place Ive EVER been to. As a professional, its an embarrassment to have such a wonderful business and sorry employees. This is the 2nd time Ive came to work out and theres 3 plus employees behind the counter and the womens changing facility isnt up to par. It makes no sense to me as a owner to pay all this money for rent and have a half sorry staff. The profit could be doubled here If someone cared. Equipment is pretty standard, like most, but the cleaness is disgusting! Take more pride in your establishment owners!

Trying to cancel my membership here when I moved was such an incredibly infuriating experience. So many hoops to jump through. Plus the gym itself is awful. No space to lift free weights or do stretching/yoga. People listening to music without headphones so youre forced to listen to it also. My things were stolen when my personal lock was busted off of my locker. Some idiot hit my car in the parking lot outside. And creepy dudes hit on me constantly while trying to work out. There are lots of reasons this place is so cheap. Too good to be true usually means it is. This place is just awful. Steer clear.

The blow dryer in the womens locker has been down since April. Ive talked to 8 different staff members whose response are they will let their manager know. I later find out the staff removed the one and only functioning blow dryer and leave the one thats not working here. Seriously how unprofessional can you be? Did you guys not check the hair dryer before you removed it? I know other members have complained. Please get this fixed by the end of the month. Please remove the nonfunctioning hair dryer and replace it. Please replace the one that was working!!!!

Your employees cant give a straight answer to a telephone question "Do you have free weights at this gym location?" which was greeted with a condescending "Have you ever BEEN to a Planet Fitness before?" (my spouse and I are members) and a long rant about the gyms philosophy for a non-intimidating environment that had nothing to do with a simple yes or no answer to our question. Oh, and I should mention we were immediately put on hold before even being allowed to reply, waited for 5 minutes, and hung up. How hard is it to say "yes" or "no" to that?

Imo im impressed that this location is still bearable to go to as the amount of space and staff cant accomodate the sheer volume of people who work out here. sometimes its to a point that the term "personal space" is a luxury, the only time I felt like this was when I worked out in 24hr fitness at Market st(near Castro)"you want that 20lb dumbell? take a number". If you can manage it(and youre a black card member) go to the one at Southland mall Hayward, leaps and bounds better.

Sounds like everyone who gives ANY gym a 1 star and complains about anything, is just looking for ANOTHER EXCUSE TO NOT EXERCISE. The world is not always going to cater to my needs either. And I accept that. As a type 1 Diabetic, if I dont get my lazy ass up and exercise, Ill DIE YOUNG AND PREMATURELY... And you know whos fault itll be? Not the assholes at the GYM who think they are better than me cause they look good... No .. It will be my fault...

Affordable, clean, good machines, not a meat market. Get your workout in without being hassled or annoyed. Staff is constantly cleaning & maintaining equipment, which is a vast improvement from my previous gym. It can get crowded at peak times, which can make it harder to find space to stretch or work out in a corner, but if you can time your workout, youll be fine.

Joined, but they entered my barcode incorrectly so I was turned away when I came in a few days later to work out..I was told I needed to go back to the original PF that I signed up at, so they could straighten it out...I feel any "reputable" company should have the decency not to turn away a customer , when it is clearly a company error..

This gym is my favorite! Everything is always clean, and the guy who signed me up was kind. However, there is one female worker in the morning on weekdays that is selective about who she greets. And once, when I asked to sign up for a massage bed, she rolled her eyes at me. Other than this worker, everything about this place is great.

Im disappointed as a Black Card member that the room for the beauty Angel is always dirty. The message beds are only 5 minutes long and if you want longer you have to get up and sign in again. What a waste of time, epecially if both tables are not being used. More importantly, I find most of the girls at the front desk rude.
