I own rentals and have used five contractors for roof replacements and none have come close to equalling Gordon Motts performance. Gordon listened to my concerns regarding replacing the 40 year old roof on our cabin in Pollock ines Ca. The cabin was originally constucted with out an attic or air space between the roof deck and wood shake shingles. Gordon inspected an recommended creating an air space. His estimate was the highest of three but far superior and detailed. The material Tyvek Attic Wrap, 1.5 inch polyiso foam insulation, 1" x 4" furring strips, 5/8 cdx plywood, redwood facia and eve venting were listed in the estimate. Low bid estimates were silent or offered inferior materal like OSB sheeting. Shingle nail or staple retention is not good with OSB. Godon used screws in constructing the the air space and hand nailed all shingles. I am experinced and knowleable in construction and usuaslly on site during any contracted work but felt so comfortable with trhe many conversation I had with Gordon that I let him remove and install the the new roof with out my being on site, a risk I dont regret. Daily Gordon took pictures of each phase and E-Mailed them to me with a followup phone call each night. I was able to travel the 150 miles the weekend before they finished the job and was not disappointed in what I inspected. Every thing was done as we had discused. The roof looks great, I was concerned it would not look as great as wood shingles and perhaps the air space would be bulky looking. Word of advice to those requiring the services of roofing contrators; do your home work & check the roofing materail vendors web sites and know what is reccommended so the bidders can not pull the wool over your eyes or better yet just go with Gordon Mott. Gordon Mott Roofing Company replaced a 30 year old roof on my residence. I was extremely impressed with the honesty, straight-forwardness, professionalism, knowledge and experience of Gordon and his employees. Gordon is a bit more expensive than some of the other roofing companies because he uses the best materials to make the roof last, and the company doesn’t take “shortcuts.” Each day, his employees were prompt and hardworking, and cleaned up the site before leaving. They immediately brought to my attention issues uncovered with the removal of the old original roof, and remedied the issues. They were also mindful of my animals. Follow-up and communication is excellent. If you need a new roof and would like to use this company, don’t wait until the last minute to call. Because of high demand, it takes about six months to schedule a job. It is well worth the wait though to get such a high quality roof!

We recently built a bread oven in our back yard and wanted a metal roof for fire safety, water tightness, and durability. Gordon Mott Roofing treated our very small job with the same attention to quality and detail as though it was another major project for them. Our concerns and numerous questions and phone calls were always responded to in a timely and courteous fashion and the project was completed on time and on budget with no surprises. While we were awaiting the installation of the metal roof, there was a threat of rain... Gordon Mott saw to it that the plywood sub-roofing was covered with a watertight material just in case. This was our first experience with Gordon Mott and we recommend them highly and will definitely use them for any future roofing needs. Bill and Elaine Boggess

I only came to pick up some surplus products, but ended up staying a bit longer. Im sure I was a bit annoying and overbearing, but I got to meet many of the folks working there, and I was impressed with the (current main man of that day...not sure what his name was...probably Gordon of course :)) main mans knowledge of condensation and roof deck longevity. I also was impressed with how he kept a cool head with me running around his business prying my curious eyes into everything, bothering him for quotes on various products; he wasnt ever short or coarse with me. I got a feeling that there was a very respectful and peaceful atmosphere in his business. Im remembering this two years after the fact.
