I went in for an alignment and ended up paying $740. The mechanic was nice enough to point out severely worn down brake parts which I found out later were in perfectly good shape, charged me $208 each for aftermarket rear hub assemblies, and when I pointed out that I could attain the same part for $55 TOPS on ebay, I was brushed off with "you can pay $6 for dirt meat at vons or you can pay $30 for steak prepared by a professional cook at a good restaurant. You are paying for the service and satisfaction." Needless to say, she didnt understand that I was looking up the SAME part number she gave me on my work order (513033, then BR930033 after I questioned her prices) and that as a driver of a beat down 1990 civic, Im not expecting rolls royce treatment nor expenses. Originally, she was quoting me something like $2900 for rear brakes, a few suspension parts, alignment, and respective labor. After explaining that all I wanted was an alignment, we agreed to just do the "necessary repairs" to the worn down suspension parts in order to execute an alignment. Her blondness must be contagious as I clearly saw her charge of $822 (and a 10% discount if I finance, which brought it down to $740) and still went ahead and signed my soul away. Later on that week, I was informed by a neighbor of the scams he knew of in regards to drum brakes and proceeded to choreograph exactly what the mechanic at A & R Tires displayed for me. At LEAST, the guys there were honest enough to replace the parts they promised to replace. I paid for a hard lesson in mechanical ripoffs and ignorance in not researching costs. Hopefully, this lesson pays off for someone else out there too.

When choosing a service, I usually go on Yelp or Google and read the reviews of a business before making my decision. Many of the reviews of this business were negative which made me hesitant to give them my custom. My problem was a flat tire that needed mending, and I was quoted 15 dollars by the gentleman over the phone. I figured that was a heck of a deal so I ignored the reviews and took my tire in for a look. The tire mechanic who helped me was more than courteous and helpful. He searched and searched but could not find anything wrong with the tire. I wanted to also add that it was pouring rain as this guy searched for a leak in water machine outside. After he found no leak, he filled up the tire and made sure all my tires had adequate air in them. I asked him what was the charge and he said nothing. I offered to tip, but he refused. Awesome Service!! Thank You!

Wow, I cant believe the number of poor reviews for A & R! I have been a customer for 3 years and have always been treated well and charged fairly. Im very tough to win over, and am loyal to those who have earned my trust. Rick, Chris, Katrina and Alan have ALWAYS been prompt, courteous and professional. A & R does everything that our 4 cars need. I havent had to go to the dealer for years (I was oversold and overcharged there)! So, Im very happy with A & R and get the same "vibe" from other customers there. If youre in a hurry, call ahead and ask how busy they are. Ask questions, if you dont understand something. Ive learned a lot from them and feel much better about the service my cars need and get. Thanks!

Im completely blown away by the bad reviews Ive read here! Ive been using this place since 86 and my mom used them before me. Ive never been scammed or overcharged! Im not some dumb broad who doesnt know anything about vehicles, by the way, just dont have the tools or backarm to do the work. My son is a mechanic and will look over my vehicles, and if it is something he cant do because of tools or location, he always tells me what I need to get done elsewhere. A&R has NEVER done anything more than what my son has said I needed! I also never told them what my son said. Im sorry for the bad experiences some of you folks have had, but for me and my family, A&R will ALWAYS have our business!

simply put they wanted to charge me 380 for juss my REAR brakes.! and told me i needed new rotors and said i could finance beause i only had 180. i took it literally down the block to A 1 auto and they fixed it for 160 and told me my rotors were in great condition. im driving a 1995 nissan maxima by the way. just to today i gave them another call to see how much it was cost to install a new altenator that i bought from pep boys and they said they dont install other peoples parts. so i asked how much they would charge me for labor and parts she said 463 or something i went back to pep boys and they said parts and labor for 352. they are con artist to the fullest extent.!

Was hung up on multiple guys trying to request service through their over priced membership. Many issues were reported with my vehicle that werent there prior to diagnostic, and magically vanished when I declined repairs and inspected after pick up. Thought this would be easier oil changes than doing it myself after moving into apartments. They over tightened, and stripped the oil retention bolt on two vehicles, and didnt change filters when it was in the membership agreement to do so. Poor service all around, and no supervisor/owner contact information when requested. Dont waste your funds.

I went and got a brake inspection and they told me everything was bad I needed to changed my front rotar, brake pads , change brake fluid, clean and adjust rear brakes. Yet when I took it to another mechanic they said everything was fine I only needed to change the brake fluid. Unhonest shop that lies and tries to take money from you. Will never come back or refer anyone to here.

Had it towed to another place cause I knew that was BS and I didnt have 8 hundred. Had it fixed for $2-3 hundred. Scam!!!!!!! Most people dont know so they will get u.

These guys suck. I had a tire with a nail in it. A guy who didnt know any English told me it was bald and he could not fix it because there insurance wouldnt allow it. I asked what insurance? Do you guys offer any kind of coverage for me? No, my only option was to buy a new tire or go some where else. F**** a and r tire. Tires was not bald for the record lol

My experience with A & R Tire was good, the environment was kind the employees were professional and the waiting area was pleasant with fresh donuts , TV and the other creature comforts we all like. The hour wait I was informed of for a Tire Alignment was over before I new it ..
