The Beutler Tech took advantage of my almost 80 year-old Senior Citizen mother, made up a false repair, and extorted money from her. The Beutler Tech continuously tried to upsell and pressure my mother to buy a new AC unit. After she indicated she just wanted the old unit fixed he indicated the unit needed the coils fixed and charged her an $89 service fee and $419 for a leak search. He then informed her that she would have to pay an additional $3000 to come back out to have the coils repaired. I told her to get a second estimate, so another technician came out the next day for a free estimate. The other technician indicated there was NOTHING wrong with the unit. The trouble was isolated to PG&E’s "Smart AC" unit. The “Smart AC" had a piece of failed hardware that prevented the AC from coming on. Once the “Smart AC" unit was removed the AC immediately started working. The technician also provided documentation corroborating his claim that there was no malfunction to the AC unit. My mother wrote a complaint letter asking for a refund of the service fee & leak search. She later spoke with a manager “Terry” at Beutler who dismissed my mother’s claims/complaints and denied her request for a refund. This is unacceptable! My mother lives in a Senior Community called Rio Vista, and the only reason she called Beutler was because they installed many of the units in this community. I will be advising the Rio Vista community of Beautler’s unethical practices as well as the BBB, so no other senior citizens are taken advantage of. I have contacted Beutler on my mother’s behalf, and have been promised a call back from a manager “Ray. I am still pending that call. I am willing to give Beutler one more opportunity to rectify this matter, as this fight is not over.

We had a warranty plan on our HVAC when we purchased our house. Without fail they NEVER fixed the problem when we called. A technician would come out and "diagnose the problem"... but the NEVER had the very basic parts with them. They would have to schedule someone else - usually days later to come fix it. More than once that person also came without the part. This would go on for days. The last straw was the person who told me the warranty was ending in 2 weeks, and that we had a part about to go (miraculously he had the needed part.)... if it went the A/C would have to be completely replaced... but that since the part wasnt actually broken we would have to pay the $225. I found out later that we have over a year left on our warranty. I called and complained, but they never reversed the charge, or even gave us a discount. Also- once when it was 104 degrees outside, and the AC went out - they told us they were too busy to come out for warranty work because they were booked with other customers. We had to buy a swamp cooler because my son was having asthma issues and the heat was making it worse. They said they would "buy it from us." I sent them the paperwork, and they never did. So it sits in our garage. Ive also heard stories from neighbors who also had shady dealings with them. I would NEVER recommend this company. They are the WORST. We dealt with them several times over the 5 years of our warranty plan and I can only remember them being able to help us efficiently one time. That is shameful.

Chris S. was the technician who serviced our heating system, that was not working properly - the heater wasnt kicking in as it is supposed to. Before even Chris came, I got a call 1hour ahead that the technician was coming at 12:30pm and he showed up at my door on time! After determining that the surface igniter had failed, Chris took the time to explain to me the pricing on the service and materials and which plan would better work for me. He also called his supervisor to get me more discounts for the service - that is unheard of in all the years Ive been a homeowner; so I bought in on the 1 year maintenance plan for only an additional $4. So not only was my heating system fixed, but I also get 2 more inspection on my a/c, heating and plumbing with the extra $4 - which I think is an excellent investment for my home. Chris S. was very courteous and a customer oriented technician - hes a great asset for Beutler. Hes the type who always thinks about the customers; be it on how he can save and provides tips to better take care of the heating and a/c systems. I thank him for doing a great job on our heating system. I know he will keep up the good work he provides his customers! A very satisfied customer :-)

Our heater was not working, so I called Beutler. Ernesto responded to our call early the next morning. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained our AC/Heating problems in detail. He was not pushy or just trying to sell us a new unit. He was very honest. We did sleep warm that night. Thank you Ernesto! He contacted his company so we can have a Comfort Advisor that came that very same day. Ken Hartman came to advise on our AC/Heating units issues and helped us to finance for a very needed new AC unit. We agreed and signed. Beutlers crew came through the very next morning. Crew was professional friendly and warm. I felt very comfortable with strangers in and out of our house. Not a worry in the world. Our new AC/Heating unit was installed by 3:00 pm. The job went smoothly and everyone knew exactly what to do. We are pleased and very satisfied with this company. A shout out to Dave, Arash, Andrew and all others that worked so hard and efficiently today. Thanks to you all, we are warm, relieved and worry free tonight. Chris A. did a terrific job servicing and fixing a problem with my Aqua chill air conditioning unit. Its a complicated system that uses water to cool the coils. He thoroughly checked the system and proper maintenance schedule for summer and found a broken part that was covered under warrantee. He could have stopped and left but recommended he charge the system fully for best results with hot weather coming. He was very knowledgeable of my two zone system which I have had for some time so I took his advice and feel very confident my system is in great shape for the summer. I recommend getting a service plan for maintenance beyond anything you might have under warrantee as you get discounts on parts that arent covered and priority service when a technician is needed. In my experience advance maintenance plans are cheaper as you pay a little now and save a bundle when repairs are needed. Beutler is a good company and has been around a long for these kinds of reasons.

My experience in the past with this company, was negative until Ernesto walked into my home. His warm and caring attitude towards my heating problems was genuine. Knowing my confidence level was low with this company, he reeled me in quickly with his honest, quick repair service, all at a reasonable cost. In addition, he discussed my options and warranty services available. No pressure to join, like in the past. I have to admit, I was truly snake bit prior with this company, but Ernesto regained my confidence, because of his knowledge, trustworthiness, and experience. When Ernesto came back downstairs, I was waiting for the results of his consultation, when in fact he had completed all the problems, such as loose wires, dirty flame sensors, and had checked all components so that my heating system was back in service. Thats what I call, FANTASTIC SERVICE!!!!!!! Ernesto, thank you so much! Sincerely, Mary Randolph Btw, I signed up for the service plan as well
