Joey Stevenson at Glama-Rama did the first-ever big cut on my hair, last summer when I didnt really know what I wanted. She helped me figure it out, did not cut off more than I asked for (something I was worried about with any new stylist), and I went back in for an even shorter cut a couple of months ago. It looks great. She really figured out what was going on with my semi-wavy, semi-curly hair, and cut it in a way that worked with what happens naturally. And--she totally listened when I told her how low-maintenance I am. Just shampooing and putting in leave-in conditioner leaves my hair looking like I fussed over it with a curler and dryer, even though I didnt. Im beyond happy. Worth the trip to SF from waaaay out here, even! The salon itself is very friendly (if you are plus-size, relax--theyre welcoming here) and cool without being pretentious. BART or something else that does not involve parking is preferable, though sometimes you can find a spot on a parallel street.

Ive lived in the city for over three years and have been to a variety of places to get your haircut. Gama-Rama Salon is by far the best combination of quality + price that you can get. The customer service here is exceptional with short waiting times, occasional free tea, and very friendly staff. I highly recommend Asa my hair has looked amazing ever since he began cutting and styling my hair. One of my favorite qualities I like is that he doesnt take super long nothing hurts a quality haircut more than having to sit in a chair for over an hour. Im a dude, so we like to be in and out.

Great place, near BART (10 min walk), near great food and bars. Cute, comfy, and unpretentious. Great for vivid color jobs and updated looks. Ive been going to Jinelle for going on 3 years, and shes taken my naturally black hair to platinum blonde, lavender, blue, pink, shortened, with bangs, and without all with perfect precision. She also has done some fancy styling for me. I thought I was doomed when she took a short hiatus, but shes back and well, and Im relieved.

In my entire 30 years on this ball of dirt...all of my haircuts have been fine...(mainly because it was nearly always short...you cant go very wrong with short hair) So when I went in to see Olive with my shoulder length hair (which looked awful)...and left with a rockin haircut that nearly all of my friends immediately complimented me on...Ive been going back for over a year...always satisfied...

I used to only get my hair cut from Edison but discovered Kyle recently when edition is booked up for two weeks.Kyle is professional,courteous and talented! He took the time to study the pictures i showed him before making recommendations based on my hair length and face shape.I really like how my hair came out! He even showed me how to tied my hair in a bun like the picture.

Fun atmosphere. Jennifer colored my hair for years. Shes the bomb! Get on their mailing list to receive fun class updates. Theyve done classes on funky nails to glamor updos. Check out the art on the walls too. It changes all the time.
