Crown Worldwide is the WORST. Moving is never easy. But moving to another country is even more daunting than just a simple "across town" adventure. So when looking for a moving company to help make the process easier, I went on the FIDI/FAIM certification website and found Crown Worldwide. They were certified, they had the right credentials, so I took a chance and signed up. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. This company has caused me nothing but heartache, headache, and stress. I signed a contract agreeing on one price and a list of services, many of which I did not receive and which I complained about immediately, with no follow-up whatsoever. The movers not showing up on time, no apologies from the company after I emailed them about it. The movers not professionally repacking my shipment as agreed upon via my contract, and instead shoving extra paper into each box to make it look like they did. I emailed to complain during the packing and nothing was done. The movers not properly inventorying my shipment and excluding expensive items like my laptop and scanner on the list, until I asked them to do so. The movers removing things from boxes to smash my possessions into my loading box to make things fit. On top of this, Crown claims that my shipment was moved to a warehouse and then repacked. This was done without my permission or insured supervision. I was onsite on the day of the move to make sure that nothing was stolen, damaged, or left behind. For Crown to do this on their own without consulting me or having my permission or it being supervised by me, is not acceptable. After all this, I was just happy that it was over with. But then things got worse. Only after I had flown to my new country of residence, Crown emailed to inform me that now I had to pay almost double the amount which we had originally agreed upon claiming that my shipment was now "too heavy" though nowhere in the contract did it state that my fee would go up if my shipments weight went up. Since my life and possessions were held hostage, I had no choice but to pay. That was at the end of last year. Cut to now, nearly four months later and I still havent received my shipment and just received a new invoice for services that are alleged to be outside of my contract yet were clearly normal and part of every international move. I have filed official complaints about Crown and their business practices. For anyone who is considering using this company for their overseas move, the best advice I can offer is to not to. Their lack of honesty, professionalism, and decency is deplorable.

We recently moved locally and it was a bit complicated. Crown packed some of our household and took that and some of our furniture to storage for a month or so, so we could stage our home to list it for sale. Once sold, a 4 day move to our new home was scheduled... one day to pack, one day to load, one day to unload at the new home, and the next day to bring the items from storage. As stressful as moving can be, this process was organized and accomplished in a professional and timely manner. Very helpful to have polite and understanding movers. They did most of our packing as we were on a tight schedule. Very impressed with their communication (very important to us), as Alicia would call us several times a day to be sure all was going well and as expected, as well as touching base prior to the move day to confirm. The drivers would call us before arriving to let us know when to expect them. We have used Crown in the past for longer distance moves, and I would not hesitate to use Crown again.

My husband shipped my mother-in-laws possessions from an apartment in Berkeley, California to Minnesota using Crown and United Van Lines. Joe Colburn (the estimator) and Alicia Rosas (the coordinator) were excellent, as was the crew who came to wrap furniture and load stuff into containers-- Jorge Rosas, (Salvador?) Ricky and Julio. Everyone showed up when they said they would, did a good and careful job of wrapping furniture and packing the containers, and my moms stuff arrived on schedule, undamaged in Minnesota. (The local guys who off-loaded the stuff were good too). Best of all, Crown had the lowest bid. I like Uniteds container system (where a crew load your stuff into wooden boxes on the truck that are then sealed). It minimizes handling and ensures that what goes into them arrives at its destination. My husband packed all the boxes himself ...but the crews wrapped and unwrapped a lot of furniture (tables, chairs, book cases and a large wooden desk). Id recommend Crown and United to anyone.

We used Crown as part of our company relocation package. I wish I had the patience to write the 2000 words necessary to properly document the myriad of issues we had. Suffice it to say that their treatment of us was very unprofessional. When their packers failed to mark and load some items we needed right away, they blamed us. To make matters worse, our company said, "sorry, their word against yours, you need to pay the access fee." But you know the real exacerbating part? We fed (2 meals) and tipped the initial crew over $200 (plus another $150 at dropoff) only to have the Crowns corporate liaison, Marta (a book could be written on her) claim the crew leader blamed us. I believe this to be a total fabrication. Bottomline...we will not, under any conceivable circumstance, use Crown again.

I wish that Yelp gave options for Gold Stars! The team that arrived at my house were simply amazing. I have used several moving companies in the past and my experiences were horrible. As I was planning this move I dreaded the whole process because of those experiences with other movers. The crew Steve sent to my house were like a cool breeze as they melted the stress away. One of the crew members even took the time to carefully protect and ensure my sons most precious items were transported like precious jewels. I will recommend Crown moving and storage to all I encounter because everyone deserves an experience like this! Thanks again Crown!

Crown World Wide Moving facilitated my move from New York to California. Their customer service were prompt in returning my calls and sent a representative to my home prior to my move in order to make the move seamless. The crew arrive as scheduled and were extremely careful, polite and efficient. The same could be said with the crew that delivered my items to my Oakland, California home. I would recommend Crown World Wide Moving without hesitation.
