I recently brought both of our cars here, because the Kiely location didnt have a Mazda technician available currently. And the downtown locations are extremely untrustworthy and often flat out lie. They took care of my wifes car quickly and did a good job. I had gone shopping across the street while I waited and they were very prompt about calling me and letting me know it was ready to pickup ahead of the estimated time. I driver her car the rest of the day and it ran great again. They did a good job with the tuneup. So I decided to bring my car in as well and take advantage of their $100 off service sale. I had already been told by another shop my valve cover seals needed replacing because of an apparent oil leak into one of my cylinders and I could see for myself the one plug was oily top to bottom when I changed them. So I went to wheel works and they gave me a discount on the labor because I was just there with our other car, and I applied the coupon as well, still it was going to be a $600+ repair...Volvos, they last forever but some things are very complicated to work on for them - a 6 hour job. I had already signed for the job and left my car for the day with them. I get a call a little while later Telling me they looked around and checked inside and it appears it didnt actually NEED to have the seals done. And that the leak had appeared to have stopped (all spark plugs were clean). They told me there was no need to do the $600+ job I had already signed for. That was a huge relief and very refreshing honesty! They could have easily just charged me for it and done it (or not even done it if I went to the Alameda location). instead they just did the spark plugs for me and the cabin air filter I had requested. I think I will be going here for all my future work I cannot do myself, this kind of honesty is rare and very pleasing to find in this business!!! Thanks Bryan!!! I saw a review or two mentioning problems with phone calls, I had no issues with them calling me or me getting a hold of them. Keep in mind not all locations are like this.....their Alameda location is literally the exact opposite and will knowingly lie straight to your face to get you to pay more $$$.

Overpriced for shoddy work. I came here for a standard 75,000 mile checkup, and for them to inspect some electrical issues theyd been having with my vehicle. The inspection turned up three things that needed to be replaced, and they ran me over $800. I took it to another service center the next day for another look at the electronics, but WW had done such shoddy work it needed to be towed! WW had said they had checked the alternator, and said it was working fine. The next day, it would not put a drop of energy into the battery. Basically waht I found out is that WW found a leaky power steering pump and replaced it, not taking into account that it was positioned directly above the alternator. It seems that they replaced it with an even leakier power steering pump, which leaked fluid all over the alternator destroying whatever integrity it had left. (This is an alternator, which had been replaced a year earlier by the previous owners). The new mechanic in addition to cleaning up WWs mess (of leaving power steering fluid everywhere) had to install a new alternator. He also let me know that the power steering should not be making noise after leaving the WW parking lot after a service. WW had told me the power steering would make noise for a few days because it still had some air in it, and that if it didnt go away I should bring it back. The new mechanic told me this was typical of Wheel Works. Their business model is to pay mechanics a commission to find problems (whether they really exist or not), and then to fix them. This makes it so the mechanics have to find faults in your car, that may not be there in order to make it worth their while, then rush the job on fixing the problem. For tires... I might go back... for any other mechanical, Im not going to touch Wheel Works with a 10-ft pole. I just wish I could get them to comp me for the new alternator....

The guy at the service counter was great. Understood exactly what I wanted as I was replacing 2 rear tires due to a damaged tire, and had some special instructions on which tire went where, and which one I wanted to take home as a spare. However, the guy who did the actual work ended up punching a hole through the sidewall of one of the used tires that I wanted to take home as a spare. He explained that the corners of the tire were worn and attempted to place the blame there. However, worn corners on a tire should not cause the tire machine to punch a hole though the side wall. Mind you these were also run flats which have thicker than normal sidewalls, which the service guy even admitted. I was still upset that they ruined a perfectly good spare. Had it been a newer tire I would have asked them to replace it, but didnt want to deal with it considering it was a reasonably used tire. They also didnt listen to me when I asked them to put the newer tires on the front since my particular car wears the front tires out faster. California law does state that new tires should be placed on the rear of the car due to safety reasons (e.g. over steer/fish tailing danger), however I specifically asked them to put the newer ones on front. I bitched a little and after having me sign a waiver they switched them around for me. The average person probably wont have any problems here, but if you have special requests and know what you want, you may run into some issues.

Went in to get 4 of my tires mounted and balanced on my 07 miata. The price was an amazing $60 (awesome). They got me in and out in ~60 mins(fri afternoon). The staff was awesome and didnt give me any grief about tire size (up from stock), or hit me up for additional repairs. Didnt give me any attitude for bringing in my own tires. Above all else, the installer was extremely careful with my wheels and car. They double torque all the lugs. This means 2 different people using 2 different torque wrenches torque the lugnuts. There is no chance for an oops moment there. When finished, they clean and shine the tires. The work done is as if Im working on my car, or better. Thanks guys.

Needed to get a tire patched up at the very last minute and they stated that my treadwear was down to the wearbars when they obviously werent. Ive had my tire patched there before on a different occasion WITH the same treadwear and they patched and plugged with no questions asked. They were not busy at all and they also pushed away all other customers at 4PM when they close at 5PM because its New Years Day. Highly not recommend this place until there is new management. Very rude and lazy employees.
