***HOSPITALITY***This is HANDS-DOWN the best service Ive ever received! Chris (the owner) literally was the most helpful and fair mechanic Ive ever dealt with. He runs a tight ship and has great and hard working employees, but he gets down and works on the vehicles too. I called in the morning for a quote regarding a crankshaft seal replacement (I identified the problem myself and usually do my own work but Im from North Carolina and here for work for a few months) and after talking with him on the phone I was assured he was going to do a great job and take care of the problem. He charges fair prices based on how long it actually takes them, even if it is faster than the standard time for service. This kind of honesty and integrity is NOT common. I dropped off my vehicle early afternoon after the phone call and was able to pick it up SAME-DAY with even extra stuff I had asked for completed (oil change, check-up, etc.). When I dropped off the vehicle and was waiting for a friend to come pick me up Chris made me a cup of coffee while he was in the middle of working just to accommodate me. When I came back to pick up the vehicle later that day I had to wait for a little while because he had other customers who were also picking up their vehicles. Chris treated everybody with respect and personally checked over each car and drove it with the customer to make sure everything was perfect before the customer left. I ended up being there until about 7 but Chris literally did not stop until the job was done. He personally washed underneath the engine bay so I could check for any more potential leaks or problems in the future, and BOUGHT ME DINNER along with his employees just for staying so late. I honestly dont know what to say but Ive never experienced this kind of service. Fair, quality and fast work. Shout-out to Chris and his excellent mechanics!!! -Yes would recommend 11/10 -Yes Im coming back for any other vehicle issues

After looking good reviews here I tried this repair center. I must tell you, every word written in reviews are true. Theyre really good. They diagnose correctly and charge reasonably. Theyre honest and sincere in their work. My car starts fine but as soon as I release accelerator, it dies. My case was handled by Chris and he does a good job. After repair, check engine light never came back and my car passed smog test also. I like to point out few things which I liked about them: First time correct diagnosis; Doing permanent fix; Reasonable charges; Good customer service; and most important theyre honest. I like to congratulate "Automotive service & repair" and Chris for giving good customer service to customers. Ill recommend all my friends to get the repair done here only. Best in Newark, CA. Better than any Fremont service centers.

My sister went on vacation and I took her car, realized that she hasnt gotten her oil changed and it was about 2,000 over than when she was suppose to change it. ASR is my go to local shop. He treats his customers with respect. Ive only needed to do my oil changes here, but if you have other issues, I know he tends to drop off the customers to their homes if he has to work on your car for a long time.

This shop does more for your money than most places. For example, I took my car to another shop in Newark and was quoted $400 to change the thermostat and flush the coolant. Automotive Services and Repair replaced my radiator, the hoses, the clamps, the coolant and the thermostat for about the same amount of money and they used good parts too!! Talk to Chris, he is very professional and honest.

They are very communicative so you dont feel like the prices are coming from nowhere. They try to do the right thing and recommend what to do. Price is average overall, but maybe I am getting better parts. I would use them for normal maintenance stuff, but the more serious repairs I would take to Fremont United Auto.

Excellent find in Newark... Hubby had a complete flat in back tire due to nail and Chris had him in and out in 20 mins! FIrestone would of insisted on a new tire. They fixed completely and at a great price... definitely going back. Thanks Chris
