We took my wifes 2003 Jetta there a year ago because Skips advertised a set of 4 goodyear tires for a decent price. Well, we dropped it off and got a phone call that they were unable to figure out how to mount the tires. Somehow, those particular tires were new and wouldnt fit properly. So they gave us a different set of tires for the same price. THAT was strike one, because I found out later that the different set of tires they gave us were cheaper than the ones we were initially getting. Strike two is that in their efforts to try and force the Goodyears onto her rim, they scratched the paint and gouged the aluminum pretty badly. These are custom painted rims, by the way. We didnt know about the damage until we picked up the car and noticed it for ourselves. They didnt tell us that the rim was damaged until we confronted them, and even then, the technician ran out of the shop and argued with us that the damage was already there. But you could clearly see aluminum shavings hanging onto the gouges. After some commotion, they did agree to repair the wheel, and sent it off to their paint guy. It came back painted the wrong color, not even a close match. So they told us to go ahead and take it back to the shop that powdercoated the wheels originally, and send them the bill. Thats exactly what I did. It has been 11 months, and they have not sent me money for the damage they did. So basically, they ripped us off with a bait and switch on the tires, then damaged our wheel and didnt pay for the damage. And topped it all off with bad attitudes, hostility, and slow service. By far, Skips gave us the absolute WORST experience weve ever had at a tire shop.

Went with my friend to get his oil changed here. We walked into the front door and nobody acknowledged our presence for a good 5 minutes, despite there being nobody in line. The sales guy wasnt very friendly and made us move the car away from one of the bays, rather than offer to move it for us. Then after more waiting he was told to choose which oil change package he wanted with no explanation as to what each included, and after another 5 minutes the guy came back and asked which one he wanted. We were then informed that it was going to take 1-1.5 HOURS FOR AN OIL CHANGE. Well, we walked around, got something to eat, and came back an hour and a half later and THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN MOVED, let alone worked on. My friend had to ask for his keys back, we were sick of waiting. At least they were prompt in getting that task done. Overall, terrible service and incredibly slow shop, Ill never go back there, ever. I dont usually write reviews but this shop is THAT BAD.

Took our car to skips a year ago to get new tires because they advertised they would match any price. We got a good quote from Americas tires and skips said theyd match it. An hour after is dropped the car off I got a call that they actually would NOT be able to match Americas price and that if we didnt continue with getting tires at skips (for $120 more than quoted) wed still be charged for getting the car up on the lift. WTF! My husband brought our other car in today to get a wheel alignment. They said they couldnt do it until we replaced our strut ($900). When we said we want a second opinion they handed us a bill for $60 just for telling us they couldnt help us. To top it all off the guys who work there are complete jerks who talk down to you if you dont just give them free rein with your credit card. NEVER WALKING THROUGH THEIR DOOR AGAIN!

My wife went in asking that they re-balance the wheels to assure that we eliminated that issue on a minor vibration problem. The tires on the Audi are in good shape (fronts at 6/32s and backs at 4/32s). The service people ONLY wanted to sell her new tires -- they kept pushing and pushing her to buy a whole new set of tires when all she/we wanted was for them to re-balance the tires we had. Dont trust these guys. Well be taking our Audi to the Firestone store in Watsonville -- they do a good job for us. We really like to buy local, but when were spending $200+/each tire, we expect good service and support -- and not blind salesmanship...

Ive been a customer for well over 10 years with 3 vehicles and a trailer. I just got a chance to organically compare them to Costco...same price within a few bucks. Skips remains my first choice now. Also, I brought in a utility trailer with a flat, they expertly educated me and insisted I put the "correct" tires on for the weight rating of the trailer, they were really right and the more expensive, yes, tires obviously take the load better and the trailer doesnt tow as sloppy as before. Win win. I dont expect a blowout now that I have the right tires.

what ever you do , do not let these hacks work on your car !!!. I took my 2001 vw beetle there, and they screwed it up really bad !! I had to take it to a dealer to be corrected. I filed with the b.b.b. and they have still ignored me. I am now going to file a claim in civil court. They were not qualified to work on my vehicle, but they did not care making money is there bottom line, not making the customer happy.

Theyll beat any price. Installation was fast. The alignment machine took time because a circuit blew from a dancing advertisement (blow up dancing guys). Customer service is good. As for other bad ratings.... Shocks dont last very long. When they start to go, cupping starts which destroys the balance of a tire.

They tried to sell me 4 new tires even though I ONLY needed one. The guy told me who would you believe, "your husband or me, Ive been in the tire business my whole life." They will try to milk every penny they can out of you, in the rudest way possible. I dont know where to go, but definitely not here.

I needed 4 tires so I decided to shop locally so I went to Skips. About an hour after I dropped off the car I get a call and I was told I needed to repair my struts ($1400 was the quote). I told them no and when I my mechanic of 15-years looked at them he said they were fine.

My trailer caught a guard rail going north on 17. Completely trashed my wheel. I drove 6 miles slowly to Skips. They were able to get me a new wheel and tire that day! They did an excellent job and the price was very reasonable. They also tightened all my hubs! Great guys!

Called Skips early morning to have a screw removed from my tire. Daniel was very helpful he told me to come right away. Skips removed the screw which only took 20 mins and then did not charge me because they were having a special promotion that day. I would recommend Skips.
