So far so good! I pass by Hillside everyday. My usual mechanic started to get lazy. Everyone who knows me is aware that Chuck/my 2003 Ford Ranger truck is my baby. So the moment the other mechanic told me that there is going to be a lot of work that is going to be done, it was time for me to find my baby a new doctor for yearly maintenance. Mechanics are in the profession to repair and fix cars right? Ive been taking of Chuck for years and even though hes a senior citizen, hes a great truck! Hes over 222,000 miles and 13 years old. Old Chuck is still going and hes getting better fairly soon so we can both go up to Mammoth and play throughout all 4 seasons. Dave put him through a good and thorough physical and check up. We put Chuck on a good health plan and he filled out a prescription sheet. Everything I expected was on the medical record and all within my expected budget with labor and tax. My favorite part is that he called and emailed me to notify me of Chucks status. EMAILED ME!!! Yeah! So, Phase 1 for check up is a Check mark, Phase 2 and 3 to get him new boots (tires) and inhalers for his asthma is coming up next. I cant wait to update everyone on how things go. Ladies, it felt so good to go in, get things taken care of, have my coffee, answer some emails and be assured that both Chuck and I will be taken care of. Stay tuned for the updates. - LelaLilo

I bought a used 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan from a local Toyota dealership for a good price. Since it is a used car, I wanted to get it checked out by an automotive repair shop for an unbiased opinion on the current condition of the car. I took it to Dave Carneys Hillside Auto Repair because I trust Dave and his team to give me a truthful assessment of the car. They are a AAA-Approved auto repair shop and specifically offer a used-car inspection service with an extensive checklist of things they evaluate on the car. They went through the checklist and gave me a report on what they found. The cost of the service was $100, but it was absolutely worth it to get that evaluation. I was pleased and relieved to hear that the current condition was normal for the age and miles on the car, and there was no evidence of any hidden problems (Note: This is just my summary. Their report was more detailed with objective measurements of brake pads and other items.) I highly recommend Hillside Auto Repair as a place where you can get an honest assessment of the current condition of your car.

I use Hillside Automotive Repair on a regular basis to service my business and personal vehicles. As a small business owner it is important that my vehicles are in proper working order at all times. Today I went in for an oil change and they found a brake light wiring issue that they fixed promptly. I have had brake and electrical work done (replace a faulty taillight housing) at Hillside Auto. Both repairs were fine experiences ... car repairs are always more expensive than you would like, but they did the job right and I felt well-treated. They made me a loyal customer when my taillight had a simple problem after the repair ... they fixed the problem while I waited (free, of course) and also checked an unrelated minor problem with the brakes and threw that in for free as well. They went the extra mile for my satisfaction.

We have been using Hillside as our family auto repair shop for probably 15 years. The quality of the repair work on the cars has always been excellent. The service managers provide straightforward explanations for the needed repairs and they always try to help out when we have an emergency repair. Fair prices, great owner focused on customer service. One experience is very memorable. My sons team from UC Santa Cruz lacrosse was playing an exhibition game here and one of his team mates car broke down. Dave Carney went out of his way to help out, get the vehicle repaired on the boys on their way back to school. I know it was a pain for him to make it happen, but he did. His staff is great. Couldnt ask for a better facility

Mr & Mrs. Carney are very nice people. STAFFS are very friendly and accommodating. Definitely would recommend this place especially for people w/hybrid cars and ofcourse the regular ones too.
