DO NOT GO TO WEST COAST MUFFLERS!! I meant to write this review earlier this year, please read: (**SEXUAL HARASSMENT/ WARNING TO WOMEN** at end of review) My partner and I went to WCM to have our power steering box replaced with a new one to help reduce the wheel play and make the car safer. We paid $480 for the job, and picked up the car after business hours. As soon as I left the parking lot, I could feel that the job wasnt done, nothing was better, it was actually worse, and the car was pulling in the opposite direction then before I dropped it off, still with a ton of play. I called and left two voice message that WCM claimed the never got. In the meantime, two other mechanics told us we had gotten screwed because the steering box was leaking and didnt even look new. Weeks later when we were able to physically return to WCM we were treated horribly. Mike (the owner) and Ed both yelled at us, insulted our intelligence, mocked my attempts to deescalate the situation, and insulted my partner during the test drive, assuming he was stupid and didnt deserve respect because his first language wasnt english (this was all triggered by us mentioning the BAR)... WCM could not have been more unprofessional, inappropriate or verbally violent and disrespectful. I seriously questioned if I was in an actual business. They told us to leave the property once we said that we would have to get support from the BAR because of their fraudulent repair and refusal to provide the service we paid (although the once offered to look at the car after the holidays, but that was after we had waiting two days to be seen.) After weeks went by, and my partner and I made clear we were going to the BAR for the repairs, and reporting sexual harassment, WCM called us, apologized and agreed to give us a full refund. Interesting, right? At least two mechanics and mechanic secretaries (in Ukiah) have told me not to go to WCM, that they dont trust them or the work that they do. I wish I would have got the news before waisting my time with these unprofessional individuals. **SEXUAL HARASSMENT/ WARNING TO WOMEN** : Edward (Ed) the mechanic youre likely to deal with at the front desk, doesnt understand the rules of a professional environment: He refers to female customers as "honey" or "dear". Nearly every time I came into the shop, Ed would do this, and tell me how pretty I was, how lucky my partner was, and once he told me that my hair looked better when it was down! ... As I was trying to figure out what was happening with my car. OF COURSE, Ed never said anything like this while my partner was in the office with me. Other female customers have also reported (to me) that Ed calls them "honey" or "dear". Where and who does he think he is? It makes no sense, and isnt legal. Please email us personally for more details of our experience with West Coast Mufflers. Thank you.

Seriously saved our lives!! Just driving through and a light came on saying we needed brake fluid. We had a brake job done in Sacramento 2 days prior and assumed maybe they hadnt reset something since there didnt seem to be a problem with stopping. Considered just topping it off ourselves but these guys had really good reviews and were close so I called. He said he was happy to top it off but had no time for much more. Well, we had a huge leak!!..which he fixed, then he washed off the undercarriage, dried it and checked over the entire system. All the while, he was pleasant, joking, non-judgmental (I mean we had considered driving down the highway until something acted up), super efficient AND he talked us through every step. We absolutely would have lost the brakes had we continued. We absolutely would have lost them if we (or anyone else) had simply topped off the fluid because we were driving another 125 miles on the hwy. Even though he was busy he took the time to check everything over, thankfully!! Might be the nicest guy ever. Its nice to know good, honest mechanics still exist-- even if they are 100 miles away.

Best service you could ask for!!! They put a muffler on our truck just prior to leaving town on a trip. Unfortunately their tech was not listening to instructions well when told something NOT to do, and caused a problem with our brake line as we were 400 miles out of town. We called them and spoken to Ed. Of course their was nothing they could do since we were so far out of town. However, we were told to come back when we arrived in town and they would make it right. Went back two weeks later when we returned to town and the in fact did make it even better than right. They paid us for the repair that had to be fixed in their negligence and above and beyond that, also paid for our hotel that we had to get because it was after hours for the mechanic that was out of town. They even covered the tip we gave to the second mechanic to repair their mistake!! WOW! We will continue to go back to them for any service needs we can, and refer anyone we cr in contact with who need services to this shop! God bless them for keeping their service promises!!!

Just plain honest straight forward mechanics. Went to West Coast based on a friends recommendation. Its been years (and 2 cars) now and I couldnt be happier with their service. They dont just do exhaust systems, they are a full service shop, and I trust them to do anything to my cars. We refer everyone we know to them. You get what you pay for at West Coast Mufflers. To be completely honest the prices are more middle of the road/fair, tho not cheap. But as in life "cheap work aint good and good work aint cheap" so just know you will get a very realistic price for your service, done by exceptional techs that will go above and beyond what is needed to make sure things are done correctly, and only in a way that they will stand behind. Mike and Ed are some of the good guys of the world out there for you, give them a shot.

I am a new customer and was referred by a friend of mine. Mike answered the phone himself and worked with me through the whole process. I was able to get my car worked on a day earlier than I thought and it turns out, he saved me from a catalytic converter replacement. Whewwwww. Mike was very professional and personable, very detailed and organized. Even the front office was neat and clean. He did not do a repair with out my consent and there were no surprises when it came time to pay for the work. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Mike, for not treating me like "dumb girl" and assuming I dont know anything about cars. I appreciated that very much. :D I would recommend this shop to anyone who doesnt want to get ripped off. My experience was excellent and I will come back again. Lisa Davis

Wonderful shop with excellent, super pleasant service. Stuck w/ car trouble in gorgeous Ukiah in my Audi A4 and Ed from West Cost Muffler serviced my car in no time with true North Bay hospitality and phenomenal pricing. Too bad this shop is not in Southern Marin.
