Owning a German car is a love/hate relationship. Everyone knows how fun they are to drive, but if something breaks, get ready to fork over your firstborn child in exchange for the repair. Finding a mechanic that you can trust these days is becoming harder and harder, especially one that specializes in import cars. A few years ago, I started taking my BMW X5 to Global Auto. At the time, the dealership in Eugene told me that my X5 had a cracked axle as well as several electrical problems that would amount to a repair bill of over $5,000. I decided to get a second opinion, so I took the car to Charlie at Global Auto, hoping for a better diagnosis. Charlie almost immediately diagnosed the electrical problem that had the dealership stumped, and fixed it in a matter of hours for a small fraction of the cost. He also thorougly inspected my axle, and found everything to be in working order. Since then, Global Auto has earned my trust over and over. Charlie, Annie and all of the technicians at Global Auto are people of high personal integrity, and will not take advantage of you when you are in a vulnerable situation. Finding a mechanic these days with this level of personal integrity is extremely rare, and highly refreshing. If you are looking for excellent service, outstanding workmanship quality, and a mechanic you can trust, I HIGHLY reccomend Global Auto.

Entering the clean, neat, office, I knew immediately that it was the right place to take a vehicle. That old saying , "What looks good, is good" applies here. The shop is as modern as a shop should be, but exceeds all expectations in many ways. The shop area is neat , clean, and well organized, just like the office. So, I knew something about the people before I had even talked to them. I stopped there to get some information, and maybe find a certain size, hard to find, metric machine screw. Charlie, found the screw that I wanted and wouldnt even take money for it. He spent valuable time finding the screw, and then gave it to me. Its not the screw, but what it represents. It shows me that Charlie and the other people there operate on a "Human Relations" basis both with their customers, and among themselves. I dont know about you, but I find that commendable. Im 78 , and Ive worked at more professions than you can imagine, but I have never seen any shop or lab run better than Global Automotive Repair & Service. Believe it!

Global has been servicing my two BMWs for a couple of years. One of them, I bought 20 years ago and it has been to several dealerships and numerous repair shops over those years. In all that time I have never experienced the quality of service I get from Global. Charlie Haley is the most knowledgeable mechanic I have ever met. He takes the time to explain the repairs without the usual BS that puts you in a panic. He is very honest, does not do more repairs than necessary,and charges a reasonable price. He saved me from getting ripped off today when I had my newer BMW at a body shop to fix a slow window. I was alarmed when they called me to jack up the original repair estimate from $300 to $650. I called Charlie and he thought it didnt sound right. I immediately stopped the repair before the new parts were put in and took it to Charlie. He found that the extra they tried to add to the repair was bogus and he did the repair for less than $300. It is wonderful to have a great repair shop I can trust!

Had my Mercedes serviced here twice because that was the closesest service shop services German vehicles. But Im not happy with the services they done for my Mercedes: Diesel emission fluid ran out after 1000miles of their first services, they add two bottle(1-2liter per bottle) of del and claim normally those cars only take two bottles. But after the del asditive light on I filled 5 gal to my tank still couldnt top it off so certainly they didnt understand the capacity of Mercedess def tank. 2000 miles after second services my anti freeze light on, checked anti freeze tank it is too low, filled by myself. 2 month after second services, today my engine oil low light on, checked engine oil which is lower than the low mark. Why should I pay someone to service my car but end up take care of everything by myself? Would not go there again and would not recommend to my friends.

I have used Global Auto with its present owner as well as its previous 3 owners for over 30 years. First owner knew inside out of my Mercedez car, but had to sell the business to another persons named Steve. He also was good. However the third owner Bill was less than desireable. God only knew what he did to the cars. My opinion about Charly and Annie, the present owners, is nothing but positive. They are honest, learned and result oriented. They run a first grade business organization when Annie is healthy. Things go little hey wired when she is ill. The only complaint may be their unavailability to phone, I leave many phone messages to which very few or no replies come back. Charlie is short handed when he has to attend to office duties as well. I wish them best of luck. Unfortunately we had to move to Portland, where, we are still looking for worthy replacement.

I have searched for a repair shop for my cars & trucks for several years after deciding to not do my own repairs; I have been disappointed in the quality of service that I have tried before today. Based on recommendations from several friends, I tried Global for a repair on my Toyotas AC system and though they were down one mechanic unexpectedly today, repaired the vehicle as scheduled. They are friendly, local, capable and people of integrity; I learned that Charlie, the owner, is a grandson of a great man and friend so he comes by the integrity naturally, a family trait. I have a major repair in the near future and will definitely depend on Global again; this place is a breath of fresh air. I can recommend them without reservation.

Ive visited Charlie and Annie at Global Automotive twice over the past year, and both experiences have been extremely positive. Both Annie and Charlie are very friendly and responsive! Charlie seems very knowledgeable, particularly regarding our 2003 Jetta TDI. My wife and I like to handle much of the routine maintenance on our TDI, and Charlie was respectful of that. But its hard to ignore his knowledge of these engines. His years of experience and number of clients with TDIs who trust Charlie to keep their vehicles operating reliably and efficiently is a testament to the quality of care he stands for! In short, I would highly recommend Charlie for repairs on any European vehicle, particularly those with TDI engines.

I cannot speak more highly of Global Automotive. They have always been very honest and helpful, and are good about trying to fit you in for an appointment when your car is in real trouble even though they are always very busy. They always suggest the simplest, and lowest cost solution to the problem first before working on up to the pricier solutions. Ive never felt pressured to get unnecessary work done, or that they were trying to make a quick buck off of me. They are leaps and bounds better than any other shop I have ever gone to.
