Unfortunately I had a terrible experience here. I took my Prius in to get some scheduled preventative maintenance done (new spark plugs + transmission fluid) and as I was driving away my check engine light came on. I immediately turned around and they kept my car for another day. They were not able to find the problem, but that was only part of the issue. Richard was incredibly rude to me through this whole process. He was bad about keeping me updated on the status of my car (he never once called me and I had to call multiple times to finally get a hold of him). He said that diagnosing the problem would take too long had me believing that there was likely a major issue with my car. He kept on repeating, "well I dont know how much the car is worth to you..." as if potentially losing my vehicle was no big deal. I firmly believe if I were not a young female, who knows nothing about cars, and whos emotions are linked to my tear ducts he would have made more of an attempt to remedy the situation, or maybe just have been a bit nicer about it. Tuns out, my care is FINE! The free engine scan at Autozone read an engine coil misfire and the Toyota dealership (who were wonderful) agreed. There have been no issues since. Also, be aware if bringing a hybrid here. ".....well, its a hybrid" excuse was given to me over and over again. I understand that makes things a big more difficult, but my car is 16 years old! This is not brand new technology and as repair shop that specializes in Toyotas I would expect them to be a bit more comfortable with hybrids (or at least be able to find something that an Autozone engine scan can detect).

I have been taking my Subarus to Richard since 2007. We have had 6 over this time, from old Legacies (2 with over 300k miles) to new Outbacks. Not only do Richard and Aaron troubleshoot without fail, they also fix quick and dont even charge regular customers for the easy quick adjustments or obvious minor items. Then they share a few tidbits of important info about your particular car that you need to know. Simply put, they are real decent human beings who sacrifice some profit because they care more for their customer-friends. If you think this is an exaggeration, try them once. Just a few minutes of conversation and you will see what I mean. I worked in a garage as a teen, and have driven over three continents; they are top of the heap for me. Notice how all of the reviews mention how carefully Richard listens? And once your car is in their database, they will always review what past service they did BEFORE they replace a part. they have saved me hundreds by their thoughtful, methodical reductionist approach. Finally, yes, they are also cheaper than anyone else in town for Toyota and Subaru. Oh, and I should mention that this is the FIRST google review I have ever written: that is how highly I think of Richard Cross after all these years (and yes, Aaron is equally skilled, trustworthy and kind).

I think everyone can agree that a good, honest mechanic is worth their weight in gold. If you happen to be fortunate enough to live or break down in the Corvallis area, Richard is your man! When my car started making evil sounds on my way south from Seattle, I limped into his shop after reading the good reviews. Although he was swamped with work (three people brought cars in while I was there talking to him!), he quickly diagnosed the problem as a damaged water pump and worn drive belt and promised to get it done as soon as he could get a replacement pump in. It was ready to go the next day. While he was at it, I had him do a bunch of other maintenance that Id been putting off. When I picked the car up and he gave me the final price I was shocked in a happy way. Not only is Richard professional, efficient, fast, and all for a very honest price, but hes also a really nice man who is clearly loved by his neighbors in Corvallis and anyone who happens to drop their car off with him. I dont think Id ever left a mechanics shop with a grin until I met Richard. Almost worth the trip down from Seattle just to leave my car in his hands. Thank you Richard!

I hesitate to write this review, only because I have searched far and wide for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and affordable mechanic, and now that I have finally found one I want to keep him all to myself! Richard and the rest of the crew at Crossroads are fantastic. They take the time to actually show you what is going on underneath the hood of your car. They will not try to convince you to buy parts or services that you dont need. I am always very pleased with the work that they do on my Subaru, and their prices are incredibly reasonable. As long as I own a Subaru or Toyota, I will be going to Crossroads for all of my auto repair needs!

I cannot speak too highly of Richard - awesome mechanic! He didnt know me from Adam (and actually we talked only on the phone because our car had broken down and we had to leave) but he listened very carefully to the problem. He then proceeded to figure out that our Prius didnt need a whole new hybrid battery ($4800 at the dealer!), it only needed a small repair that took some effort to accomplish. He ended up saving us thousands and we hope to drive the car for another 100K miles. Im driving or towing my car 200 miles north to him next time it needs work! Thanks very much Richard!

Saved me a ton of money!!!! As a college student, I have been avoiding fixing my Toyota Camry for along time now. A co-worker suggested that I give Richard a call. After the quote he gave me (compared to the dealerships), I was booked for an appointment the next day. He was professional, honest, and caring. I would highly recommend Richard for any Toyota or Subaru that needs work done! Thank you for saving me a ton of money!

I also took my vehicle to Richard on a recommendation. He was extremely nice and fixed the minor repair without charging me for it. (All he needed to do was remove the skid plate underneath but still...) He even met with me at my convenience on a Sunday! I highly recommend him also. I plan to trade in my POS VW and when I get my Subaru, I will take any repairs needed to him for sure.

Everyone here is really nice and helpful. Our favorite is Aren. Very trustworthy. We used to be able to get in easily, but theyve picked up a lot of customers lately so be sure to call in early so you can get scheduled. Still easier to get in to than some other local favorite mechanics.

I have been to Richard twice, once for my wife’s Subaru the other for my Toyota 4x4. Both times he was able to get the job done fast and for a reasonable price with little extras for no extra charge. I will be going back for all my mechanic needs.

Was recommended to me by a classmate (Im new in town). Everyone I met was very friendly and straightforward. The repairs were quick, and it was all at a fair price. Ill definitely be coming here as long as I live in the area.
