Gregs Auto Service LLC was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a mechanic. My sister was driving my Honda Accord when it broke down. She had the car towed to Gregs to support a local mechanic and get a diagnosis on the problem. When she arrived Greg greeted her with "oh... this is a lot more than I was expecting..." before even looking at the car. Long story short, I got a call a few days later by Greg telling me the timing belt had snapped and he checked the valves and they appeared in good shape and werent bent. I was charged $123.20 for him to take of the valve cover and stick a camera under the spark plugs when 20 minutes prior to talking on the phone with him he quoted me $103.00. On top of all of this I was charged an additional $6.70 for antifreeze... why put antifreeze in a car that isnt running, I dont know. Greg quoted me $500 to change my timing belt, given it was a 97 Accord worth maybe $1,000 I didnt want to put anymore money into it. Once I told him I wanted it scrapped he became very upset with me and told me I need to pay for the work he has done on the vehicle. I agreed and headed to the shop. Upon arrival my sisters tow truck driver was on the phone with Greg. I could hear the conversation and the tow truck driver said something along the lines "...our policy states we can not pick the vehicle up without the customer paying you for the work you have done" Greg then responded with "I havent done any work on the vehicle" Tow truck driver "Im just trying to help the girl out" Greg responded " I dont know what youre talking about.." and hung up the phone. When I confronted him he told me that the tow truck driver was trying to pick up a Subaru and not a Honda. He flat out lied to my face then went into the bathroom. SOOOOO... after all that hassle I paid the $129.90 to his shop and told them I am having a tow truck sent today and having my car removed from his shop. We pay $65 for a tow to pick up our Honda and when the tow truck driver arrived sometime around 4, the shop was closed with no one to be found. Oddly enough the shop doesnt close until 5, sometimes 6pm. In short Greg is a real piece of work. Not saying hes not a good mechanic. I bet he his, but unfortunately he showed me and my sister a very very shady side. Hes attitude towards us and his sneaky and deceptive tactics he used made me and my sister both lose complete respect for him and his shop. I would NEVER recommend this shop to anyone no matter the level of issue on the vehicle.

I brought in my vehicle for a 100,000 mile maintenance check-up, and I went away feeling like my vehicle will last another 100,000 miles without any major issues. I am a little bit of a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to taking care of my own vehicle. However, there are some things that I would prefer that a professional do, just so I dont mess my own car up. The staff here were able to work with me to explain what they were doing, and give me the option of whether I wanted to do it, or if I should have them do it. As they were pulling my vehicle apart to do work on it, they gave me a phone call and asked if I wanted to have to keep going or not based on what they had found. Ultimately, I found that I could really trust the staff in the work that they were doing, and I feel satisfied with the end results. AND they were able to finish with the work under the estimate that they gave me, which felt pretty good.

My girlfriend was having issues talking to Greg about some problems she was having. His labor cost was adding up quick due to problems she already knew and instead doing what she said originally, he wanted a diagnostic for $150 which in the end told him the original problem she already told him with a free diagnostic from Jiffy Lube. She then returned to pick her car up with a large bill she was not ready for, a 45 minute lecture on how she doesnt know what shes talking about, and me having to tell him to calm down so hed talk to us with a little respect. He needs to go back to customer service 101 and start completely over. He was very disrespectful to my girlfriend and I and I dont recommend his services to anyone. He may have knowledge and be car savvy, but he needs better customer service skills. Two days later and the check engine light came back on after the work that was done...

7-15-2016 7:15PM: I was looking up their phone number and noticed a review posted in my name. I DID NOT post the following review. It appears it was posted by either Greg or one of his employees. Terry Barker I suddenly noticed a noise in my brakes. I went in to Gregs and asked what it was. They looked and could quickly see the brake pads were worn to nearly nothing. They took worked me in to their schedule immediately. I was given a ride home and when they were finished (a couple hours) they came and picked me up. The repair costs were very reasonable. While the car was there they also noticed another potential, but not serious, problem. They asked if I wanted schedule the repairs for that item. I said not now. There was NO PRESSURE to get it fixed. Overall a great experience and I recommend them to anyone considering either repairs or diagnostic reviews. Terry

Weve been going to Gregs for years and have never been disappointed. Work is completed on time and comes in at or under the original estimate. All the repairs weve had done have lasted--no going back for the same problem twice. If additional problems are found, we are simply told about them and encouraged to have those repairs done when we get a chance. We really do feel he has our best interests in mind while he works. No pressure. No bologna. Just great service at a very reasonable price.

Went in for an alternator replacement. Instead, they replaced the tensioner (because "the alternator was working fine"). Paid $350 for tensioner and "diagnostics". After two days of driving, the battery light came on again. Guess what? The alternator was bad! Cost? Another $500, plus another $50 for more "diagnostics". Insanely poor troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge. I can only pray this "fix" lasts more than two more days.

I was very pleased with the service I got at Gregs, they were prompt and made sure I was informed .. It was refreshing to take my vehicle there and not be pressured to do more than what I requested. When I went to pick up my vehicle they took the time to explain what they had done and what services I would need in the future. I will be taking my car to Gregs for future repairs.

Got work done that other shops couldnt/wouldnt. I had taken my car into two different shops and they didnt fix the problem (though they did replace things that turned out to not be broken). Gregs found the problem (broken sensor) and had it fixed the same day. Car runs great. The only reason this isnt five stars is that I have only been there one time.
