Things started out okay at Vasa. I signed up before it opened, and the sales staff told me how flexible and accommodating the gym was towards switching plans, etc. I asked if I would be able to switch from one monthly plan to the next, or alter my agreement. They said yes. They mentioned a $50 rate guarantee, which made sense to guarantee a low rate. I really enjoyed the months I spent here working out, even though the staff seem like theyre not trained to work there. Then, I tore a ligament in my knee, called two days after that rate guarantee hit my bank account since Ill not be able to use the gym, and it is costing me ~$250 to cancel my wife and my gym membership when well never set foot in this place again. Unreal. I regret ever signing up for this place, I shouldve known that the sales staff were full of it when they described the place. Not to mention, the gym constantly has leaks in the ceiling and it took over a month to get a simple part of the basketball court fixed. Its not a terrible gym, but the policies are misleading and if you need to cancel a membership, even if you are having knee surgery, they are 100% inflexible. Thanks, Vasa, now I have membership until mid-May, even though it is the end of March and Im on crutches. Sometimes, corporate policy and chasing the almighty dollar isnt the best way to deal with customers. Ill tell everyone I know about this experience, forever. Hope it was worth it. To anyone thinking of signing up, be prepared for poorly trained staff that overhype the "flexibility" of the plan, and complete indifference if you ever need to cancel. Also be prepared for leaky roofs, confused staff and crowded equipment. Buyer beware was ever thus.

It is near to my house.... It has everything you would want to enjoy, as if youre at a spa.... But, yes there is a but, parking sucks, you have to wait for machines since everyone is runny to the gym.... Now, that is not that bad of a negative since in a few months all who rushed this place will start fading off do to well Summer is here.... The other BUT, is watch the contracts, do not allow them to initial your contracts for you... Ask them for your print outs... Was not given them and did not ask for them, did not place my initial on the contracts... This is why they lost a star... I am a Contract Specialist and was pissed when I had seen what was done.... However, again I love this gym and it is what I have been looking for in a place to get my fit on..... FYI if you cancel your contract before 6 months you have to pay an additional $25. If you want to continue to workout with the company after 60 days you will have to pay a $49 fee to keep your rates at the low ball pricing for the entire year... ( If you bring in a personal trainer not theirs they will ask the trainer to leave if he is not physically working out with you and they will not allow back to gym... This was a verbal told by the manager to me) Oh and dont expect a tour, you walk in and are told you can look around. I am still uncertain about how to get the use of one of their trainers, the tanning beds, child care and massage room.... ?????? Would love to see more customer service and a friendlier atmosphere toward the clients...

I will not go back here. I signed up in December, knowing I was moving in August. When I was signed up I explained this to the staff, and that I was only going to sign up if I didnt get extra fees for canceling. They said there will be no fees as long as you stay six months. Again this was December. I tried to cancel in July which would put me at 7 months, but they said I would get fees because of the billing structure that they used that was not explained at all. I was then told to call back in the beginning of August to avoid the fees. I call back beginning of August and I am told that I now need 30 day notice so Im going to pay an extra month (same as cancellation fee). Its a scam, theyll find a way to get the money from you one way or another. Meanwhile, the gym is always in shambles. There is water leaking from the ceiling all over the place. You cant use lots of the equipment because there is buckets on it to catch the water. I signed up for the basketball court, which is always closed because there is water dripping from the ceiling, the floors are being repaired, backboards/rims being replace, etc. I always paid my fees, never complained, was a good customer, and its frustrating for a company to get away with treating people like this.

Been good so far but lately parking has gotten ridiculous. The entire shopping center parking lot gets filled up during peak times. Its a good thing I roll in at 5:30 manana. The weight room is good. I think the class instructors are so-so. Staff seems average and not very helpful. I asked someone one question about one of the large pieces of equipment that I had never seen before and her reply was, "You need to sign up for personal training if you want to know. Im not going to work for free!" It was pretty rude. I think its reasonable to ask a question regarding a piece of equipment that is sitting in a gym that I am already paying for. I have watched her train clients since that day and I am not missing anything. Ill stick to my free workout plans from Muscle and Fitness. Unfortunately, impatient staff and rudeness are pretty much the story everywhere these days. The functional workout areas are a plus and I have never had to wait for kettlebells. Im a definite 4 star, especially for the price. My recommendation is to train staff more on fundamental customer service. Simply executing the basics makes you an all-star these days.

The gym is impressive, and brand new and the classes all work for working folks, which is awesome! The class instructors are awesome too, and there is one lady at the front desk I adore, BUT... yes, theres a but. I have noticed that they have been a bit full of themselves- no military discount, and today, they denied a guest of mine a guest pass for a class. So we both had to skip it. So disappointing after driving 15 minutes one way out to this place. Their customer service is quite inconsistent, which makes me sad because its a gym, not the holy grail -- I mean, its a class pass, people! I found it odd, and am so disappointed in how their customer service is and they are down right rude. And all gyms offer military discounts, so Vasa should too - they are located in Aurora, which is Buckley town! If 24 hour fitness class schedules worked better for my working schedule and lunch schedule, I would so not be part of this place. Like I said, it all depends on who you get, but its a shame, because this gym has so much potential.

Staff is very RUDE. I called earlier, several times, but no one would pick up the phone. We decided to go in to see if we can get a tour. First girl at the desk looked right at us then turned her attention to someone else behind the desk. She didnt say that she would be right with us, or greet us. We figured they were busy, so whatever. We stood there for a while, being ignored. Another young woman finally asked if she can get us checked in, we said we would like to tour. She said something about an appointment. I said we thought maybe we could just stop by and check it out. We had several errands to do so we mentioned that thinking she was going to make us come back. She gave is a dirty look and said rudely it will be a few minutes. She began helping people behind us and we stepped back. Im looking for an alternative to 24 hour fitness, because of rude people. But I certainly wouldnt want to put up with a rude staff. At least at 24hr fitness, the staff at the front desk has always been helpful and polite.
