My visit was on August 2 at about 9 am. Decided to go because of web search indicated good reviews, the local, organic freshness of ingredients, and our childs gluten allergy could be accommodated. The wait was long, but we were seated 15 minutes earlier than what hostess informed us. No surprise the place was packed since it has good reviews from a majority of web sources. Free coffee available for those waiting on tables! We sat on patio, (thankfully the weather was nice) and being new to CO I was pleased with the view of the mountain range, despite the shopping center very slightly obstructing my view. Im not a breakfast lover, but menu selection appeared to be the usual and expected, prices were average (see online menu), and there was a decent variety. I ordered the biscuits and gravy that comes with hash browns and two eggs. Biscuits and gravy, hash browns, WERE "TO DIE FOR"!!!!!! Best I have ever had at a restaurant! Organic or not, the biscuit had a nice buttery taste, was not too moist or dry. The gravy wasnt too salty, good consistency-not runny or too thick. Sausage was flavorful, and cooked right. The hash browns were cooked and crisped just right! No dryness, soft, moist, but slightly crunchy. My over easy eggs were noticeably organic. They had a rich flavor and nice natural color. The 3 pancakes my children got were about 7-8 inches in diameter! My 12 year old gluten free boy said his were "better than IHOP," and my 10 yr. old could only finish 1 1/4 of his serving. For childrens pancakes, I suggest ordering a kids meal for 10 and under since pancakes are huge. My wife had the same as I, and she raved about it as well. The two other adults and two children with us raved about their food as well (French toast is one of entrees I saw, dont know others) They claimed theyd return as often as they can. My wife had a Bloody Mary and she was more than happy with it. It was probably a double and a 1/2 shot of vodka in the glass shown on Over Easys web page. She could easily distinguish the freshly made on site tomato juice as being organic and very good. The self serve, Bloody Mary garnish bar made her experience of it that much more exhilarating. Our service was great, considering the place was fully packed. Yes they missed one or two things but they were very minor, and ones that could be made anywhere (which makes me wonder why some people gave 3 stars in their review because of their order was taken "out of turn." Petty if you ask me!). Portions were great. Im 6 ft. tall, 250, and I was full beyond satisfaction since I wanted to keep eating. Everyone in our party was full and extremely satisfied, 4 kids included. I will certainly go to this place again next time I visit Co. Springs. In Denver, I will travel 25 miles to Highland Ranch location whenever I can to get my biscuits and gravy. Disregard the low reviews and try this place out for yourself to determine if those low ratings are warranted. I think those who did rate it low are very hard to please or just do not know good, healthy, organic, food when they have it.

Let me start by saying my husband and I have lived in Co Springs for 6 months now and we get a lot of out of town guests. We love the food at Over Easy and ALWAYS take our guests there for breakfast because the service is good and the food is good. There is always a wait on the weekends and most weekdays, which is a testament to how popular this place is. That being said, we will never go back due to our experience yesterday. We had a large party, so we showed up early to get our names on the list. We were told they only seat complete parties, which would not be an issue except for the fact that two days before we had been there with a different set of guests and our party was seated when only half the people were present. Shortly before they were ready to seat us the hostess asked if we would be willing to squeeze 8 people into a table that normally seats 6, which we declined as we had 2 people in our party who are rather large and only 1 child. The hostess was very polite and told me this was fine because they had a larger space that would be opening up soon. Meanwhile, we got a phone call from our party that they had gone to the wrong location, but were in route and would arrive in less than 10 minutes. Before they arrived, a table opened for our party which the manager refused to hold for us even though we had been waiting for over an hour, stating that they were too far away and she could turn a table for us before they arrived. The rest of our party arrived before the people who were seated at our table had even received their drink order and they squeezed us into a 6 person table that would have been tight for 6, let alone 8. The table was unsteady and spilled drinks all over the place every time someone touched it. I must say, the thing that perturbed me the most was the manager left the hostess to seat us at this inadequate table, left our waitress to tell us that they were going to give us a flight of pancakes on the house for our wait (as if $10 worth of pancakes could fix how rude she was), and proceeded to completely avoid the area of the restaurant we were seated in for the entirety of our meal (to the point that the other manager was the one who checked to see if our food had all come out correctly). She obviously knew she had made us angry and was afraid to deal with the situation she had created. Long story short, we used to love this restaurant and it was our favorite breakfast spot. Now we will not go back because the management was horrible to us and they obviously do not care about your experience, only about turning tables as quickly as possible.

Upon first glance, the restaurant has a very contemporary feeling. It is very well decorated and they should be commended for that. They have a "communal" table which is not my style at all, I prefer to have a nice quiet breakfast with the people I came with. Personally, however, when I am looking for a great breakfast spot, I look for warm and cozy, not contemporary which tends to be more cold feeling. Decor aside, when you are first presented the menu, you will notice immediately that they are very proud of their restaurant because their PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS. So lets look into why the prices may be so high, the building is brand new and has a high lease, the decor must have cost a fortune, they have a lot of staff (high overhead) and the kitchen is state of the art (open kitchen concept). They would like to make you think that the ingredients are the reason they are expensive, but the breakfast I had would beg to differ. I had biscuits and gravy, eggs and hash browns. First I asked for the has browns to be extra crispy (they werent), the biscuits were the chewiest biscuits I have ever had, they stuck in your teeth and the bottom was hard (Village Inn has better biscuits), and the gravy was over spiced, you couldnt taste the gravy itself through the spices! The eggs were ok, but honestly, anyone can make eggs and you can get organic eggs for almost as cheap as "non-organic" at any grocery store. The coffee was fantastic, but I can get great coffee from my Keurig for less. So why are the prices so high, I couldnt figure it out, I dont mind paying more when the food matches the price, but that just wasnt the case. All in all, I was very disappointed with the prices more importantly the food. I can only hope that because the kitchen and staff are new, that maybe they still need some time to break in the grills. I may go back if a friend really wanted to try it, but I will need to wait a while.
