I cannot express in such a short review quite how terrible this gym really is. Here are just a few of my (innumerable) complaints: 1) The manager, Alec, is one of the rudest people I have ever met. He verbally berated my girlfriend when she asked about a 7-day trial (which Ballys corporate website offers at this franchise, by the way) and caused her, a potential customer, to leave on the verge of tears. (Shes a nice person, too!) The staff are better than the manager, but only marginally. 2) The gym is a MESS. The weights are never organized, many weight sizes are regularly missing (ie, 10- and 15-lb weights), and there is trash on the floor. There are few things more frustrating than going in to do your planned workout and finding that the equipment you need is suddenly missing! 3) The culture of the patrons is awful. I wish I were exaggerating, but 1 in 5 patrons do not rerack their weights. At least one barbell (out of 8) always has weights still on it from a patron who has already left. This doesnt sound like a huge deal, but it becomes one when you have to rerack other peoples weights every single day just to use the equipment. 4) A patron gestured at me to get off a bench while I was mid-set. Im going to repeat that: a patron literally gestured at me to get off a bench while I was MID-SET! I was holding the weights in my hands, very clearly using the equipment, and he thumbed at me to get out of his way. Did I mention the culture of the patrons is awful? It may take one bad apple to spoil the bunch, but I even the best apples at this gym arent much better than that guy. I could go on and on about how much I hate this gym--in fact, I created this Google+ account solely to tell you about how much I hate this gym. If there is any piece of information to trust from an online stranger, it is this: DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. I paid $12 a month for my membership here, and I overpaid.

I had to give this place A star or I would not have been able to type my comment, but it deserves a fat zer0. I Worked out here from November 2014 to March 2015. Its dirty, the staff does not care about their customers or the equipment. Lisa is a poor manager, because this place is a dump. She called me about several complaints I had raised on the Corporate website, in such a "what now" kind of tone. The people that clean are vacuuming at 6:00pm when the gym is packed. When its empty they are chatting in the studio wiping smudges off mirrors, while everything that really needs cleaning is filthy. Equipment is broken. Handed a broken strap to an employee, three days later, I find the broken strap on the floor next to the machine that it belonged to. The culture sucks at this gym. Personal trainers dont do any real training (they just take your money and make you do crap that will never get you in any real shape, long breaks, looking at their phones while you are in the middle of your set,.. garbage really). Much of the staff is simply not friendly with exception of a few. Staff at reception prioritize looking at their phones over greeting entering customers. This place is a joke. So I switched to the 24 hour fitness at 38th and Tennyson, and its a world of difference. It was free to switch too, which the staff at the old Ballys club at Belmar lied about. They wanted me to upgrade. Laughable filthy place really,

First things first, the complaining about lack of WiFi is absurd. If you dont have unlimited LTE thats your issue and YOU should join 2016 instead of pilfering for free WiFi like a college kid at Starbucks jamming for finals. On to the meat. I live right near this gym on the Block 7 Arts street. The walking distance is glorious. It is a bummer that its not open 24 hours but it never gets packed to the point of gyms like.. the 24 on CO Blvd. That place sucks. You eventually begin to notice when to go if you want it to be a ghost land. Weekend mornings/evenings are a good starter. 2pm during the weekdays... the rest you can deduce yourself. This gym, after taking over from Ballys, has nice new equipment and a comfortable, spacious layout. Its relatively smaller compared to some 24s but as a neighborhood gym for cardio, weights and lots of free classes (w/ membership obviously) its great. I got the Costco deal for 2 years, any gym except for the upper echelon ones that Ive never even seen and that makes the price competitive. There. I posted a review to balance out the overabundance of outdated and ill-informed opines proliferated on this. Tl;dr - remodeled gym with quaint neighborhood feel for chain gym. Recommended.

It is getting better by the day... 24 Hour Fitness took this over from Ballys in December 2014. Prior to them taking it over, Ballys had seriously neglected all of their gyms. Unfortunately, it was easy to see why Ballys was failing as a business. The business management model was lacking big time. The gym was filthy, the equipment was rarely maintained. It was the norm to see about 30 percent of the equipment with out of service signs hung or the equipment simply not usable. The staff complained frequently about lack of communication from their managers. It was disorganized and extremely dirty. 24 Hour Fitness has taken this club over and is making HUGE improvements. The club is much much much cleaner and they are replacing equipment and updating things that needed to be updated a long time ago. Im much happier now with this business turning into a 24 Hour Fitness!!!

What a dump. I had a friend come with me to try out the gym and was willing to sign up. He had the 7 day pass and they told him its no longer valid. That he would either have to purchase a day pass or a membership. It was clear on the 7 day free pass it was still valid but instead they made us leave without a workout. The hot tub is never working. And if it is, itll be down again a few weeks later. The staff is rude, the manager is alright. But these guys seriously need some lessons in customer service. If a treadmill is down (which a bunch usually are) they wont be repaired for weeks. They wont even put a sign to say that its not working. Youll just be surprised with sudden stops or shaking once you start running. Overall I still workout here since I paid for 2 years. I hope they improve. And Ill change my review if they ever improve their horrible service.

-They dont have a good variety of weights. Ex..only 1 10lb dumbell in the whole place -Kettle bells are strictly reserved for personal training...so only if you pay extra. -there are no shoulder pads for bar bells, i had to wrap 2 yoga mats around the bar. -the ladys in the child care are jerks, they wont take your kid if you dont call ahead even if they dont have anyone scheduled and will suspend your rights to use the facility if you dont call to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance, u dont always know whats going on 24 hours in advance! My only experience was the Colo Spgs facility and they had none of these issues. They didnt single out equipment for special customers, and they were so nice, they knew everyone who came in by name. Both my fiance and i are disappointed and wont come here again
