Brides Beware! I had been a faithful customer for mani/pedis for about a year. The nail tech there is just fantastic, so it seemed a natural fit that when I was getting married, to make La Tierra my first call for hair and makeup. What a disaster! The receptionist apparently violated a rule as a customer I could never have known about that all bridal appointments can only be made thru the manager Brenda. So when she booked the appointments, she put me down for the wrong services. When I arrived at the salon thinking I was coming for the bridal dry run for hair and makeup, about half way in, it became painfully apparent that neither was going to happen, which was disappointing because I had pictures scheduled afterward. With my bridal pictures blown for the day, and 10 days to my wedding, naturally I was upset and I quietly had tears starting to fall. Rather than attempt to find a solution, the manager whom I did NOT ask to speak to seized this opportunity to berate me in front of her staff and other clients saying "time is money and youre wasting mine". She informed me that it would be best for me to find another salon and that I should go somewhere like MAC or Sephora because those are appropriate places for "people like you". Well, Brenda, thanks for the horrible experience! I paid my bill that day without a word (even though only half the services were provided), and pulled every appointment I had for myself and my bridal party the next day. I hope you had fun yelling at me, it just cost La Tierra about $800 in business. This place has a fundamental problem starting with an elitist attitude from the top down. If you want to find a relaxing and fun atmosphere... go somewhere else. (My wedding did have a happy ending btw, I was able to find a freelance hair and makeup artist who was fantastic 7 days before the wedding, and she made everything perfect)

Was told this was a resort quality massage so I set it up for my fiancé when she came in town .... It was poor @ best and was very dissapointed to pay top quality price for subpar massage ... When I called to inform them of this the manager did call back and said why did it take 10 days to explain I explained both my fiancé and I work strenuous sched. And this is the first opportunity I had and she the tried remideying the situation well "I would have given you a discount but with you complaining you get nothing first of all I didnt want a discount I just wanted her aware of the poor quality of there massages and second my fiancé spent another 250.00 for a hair cut and products that she was very pleased with and up until this so called managers phone call she would have returned for ... If you own this place and are reading this my suggestion is find a new manager immediately and my fiancé may return but until then you lost a customer who spent good money @ your establishment for life feel sorry for whoever did the hair cut she is the real loser due to this supposed manager and her total lack of customer service skills .

I dont understand the negative reviews on here. La Tierra Salon is wonderful. I usually see Leslie and recently went somewhere cheaper and my hair has been paying the price. Leslie is wonderful. She always talks to me about what I want first, and how my wishes will work with my hair texture. (Other places give me what I ask for without talking about how it will look on ME with my facial features and my specific hair.) She takes her time with cuts and doesnt stop until its perfect. Ive always been thrilled with color too. I walk out feeling like a million bucks. A few times I have seen other artists and while Leslie is my favorite, I have always been happy with my cuts and color. I have also had a few brow waxes and they were perfect. Just a great salon all around.

I stopped by this location yesterday to grab some of Avedas delicious tea and some hand lotion. I was immediately greeted by Jenny, who was very helpful and friendly. After discussing various products, she was able to give me some recommendations and samples. I asked about Spa services, and was given a tour of the facility. It is very clean and seemed like it would be very relaxing for both salon and spa treatments. Last week I went to a different Aveda Salon, and had a sub-par experience to say the least. I wish I would have gone to this one. Based on my brief experience, I will definitely consider this location for my next cut, color, and massage.

Very bad experience !! i took my daughter for a hair cut and it was a disaster!! she messedt up her bangs and her beautiful long hair is sooo uneven ! it was supposed to be a layered with long bang haircut . As soon as we left the salon my daughter was in tears .I dont remember the "stylists" name but she was a very young girl, the cashier lady said she was one of their new stylist , I think she needs to go back to school , and this salon should NOT be hiring unexperienced people. She did not know what she was doing. My daughter is still very sad! I will never go back there !

I am over the moon! My cut n color turned out fabulous and looks like a million bucks. Jennifer my stylist rocked it!! My hair is always challenging and am never 100% sure if it will turn out how I want it to. Not today!! I would recommend Jennifer to anyone, she listens and will honestly tell you if she thinks your hair can be styled in a certain way or not. Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere and Joey gives the best hand massage ever!!! Thanks La Tierra - Sunny

Horrible! I paid $250 for a brazilian blow out and they failed miserably at it. I have had this done before and my hair looked amazing! this time, my hair is brittle and had no impact to the product. The owner of the salon is stingy and a penny pincher so do not expect to have the proper amount of solution used on your hair. They will not consider refunding your money either!

Not what you expect in suburban area - more upscale than the typical suburban hair place. Like that they are friendly and have various levels of stylists as well as full spa services, including facials and massages. Beth is fabulous. She better not move away. The team there are very courteous and professional. Easy parking and fair pricing.

Went for the first time today and walked out with the most fabulous haircut Ive had in ages. Kelly knew exactly what do do with my hair, asked questions, made recommendations and explained why she wanted to do what she did. She explained how to dry it and what type of products to use. Great customer service, staff and hand massage!
