I chose this gym because I asked the guy multiple times if Id have unlimited guest passes for my husband. He assured me each time that I would have unlimited. I made sure because my husband leaves for basic in a few months and I didnt want to sign him up for a year membership with him leaving soon. I even made sure before I signed all the paperwork. A week later they are telling me I cant use my unlimited for him that he has to pay $10 each time he comes in. The unlimited is only for new people I bring in. I told them that the guy told me I would be fine otherwise I wouldve gotten planet fitness. So then I called and asked how long I had to cancel from when I signed up and the lady on the phone said 30 days so I came into cancel and the manager said it was only 3 days. The cancellation I understand is my fault for not reading my contract and trusting someone over the phone when its been proven the front desk people dont know anything about the plans but I chose this gym to bring my husband. If I had known that they werent going to honor their word I wouldve gone to Lifetime. I feel as if the employee tricked me so he could raise his commission. He told me I have unlimited but didnt specify that its only for new members which in itself is very shady. Lifetime may be more expensive but at least the equipment isnt taped up, its open 24 hours, has a pool, its cleaner, and the classes are better. I am extremely disappointed. I had this membership when they first opened up and the original staff was so great. Theres only two people who work here now that are polite. Ive come multiple times where the staff is sitting around joking around with each other or reading and dont even bother assisting their guests. I want to cancel my membership but itll cost me more than just paying for another gym as well. Which is what Ill be doing. Pity that I will not be able to recommend this gym anymore. If I was only paying $10, like some have said they do, I would understand this lack of maintenance and them not allowing guests unlimited but I pay more than that. They conduct business in a shady manner. They have a huge turnaround and the new GM Walter lacks customer service skills. I used to love Trufit and now I wish I would have read peoples reviews before I came back after I had my baby. If you want my opinion, dont come here. From one gym enthusiast to another, find another gym. Trust me.

I have never been more disappointed or frustrated at a gym as I have been with the Tru Fit in Westminster. My biggest frustrations come from the lack of communication between the employees, managers and customers, the high turn around for personal trainers, and the complete lack of respect Walter the GM has for the members/soon to be non-members at Tru Fit. The only way to cancel your membership at Tru Fit is to be physically present and it has to be done through a manager (who is A. not present, B. on the phone, or C. distracted and not giving you 100% of his time). Not only do they make it exceedingly difficult to cancel your membership, when you want to cancel, they hardly try to provide quality customer service, and they make you feel horrible for wanting to leave. Do not sign up for Personal Training! There is a high turn around for personal trainers and they are bad mouthed after they leave to pursue other employment, by THE GM!! Once my second personal trainer left I specifically sought out the GM to make sure my personal training was not going to automatically renew itself since I had only agreed to 1 year of training. He assured me that this would not happen so I felt confident that I did not have to address this again. However, on January 3rd, I was charged for personal training and will be charged for my gym membership on top of that. I went in to talk to Walter about what had happened and wanted a refund for something that I told him I was no longer going to use. He proceeded to tell me that he would never have told me that training was not automatically renewed and I could have prepaid for all the training to make sure it was cancelled by December, or I would have had to come in a month prior to let them know I wanted training cancelled. Which I would have done, had this been better explained or even communicated to me that this was an option. But again, there was a lack of communication by the facility and making you feel like youre in the wrong and that you messed up instead of them figuring out how to help you. Walter was supposed to get back to by the end of the week to let me know if I would be refunded for personal training and my monthly membership, which I have yet to hear from him. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with Tru Fit in Westminster, the staff that they have there and how I was treated as a member.

Buyer BEWARE. In spite of months of problems (like no hot water in the showers and classes where instructors do not show up), and complaints about these ongoing problems, the manager of the 88th and 120th locations (Greg) told me that there was nothing he could do in regards to letting me out of my contract (this is with only two months to go out of the year I signed up for) or refunding any money because I had already paid. Thats right - if you give them your money to sign a contract, they will not do anything about your complaints and will not let you out of the contract or even consider giving you any pro-rated refund. The problems I have had for months include: insufficient or no hot water in the showers, the showers at the 88th facility run dirty water into a disgusting pool that it is necessary to walk through to exit the shower area, the Wifi is often not working, their fitness classes have many schedule changes (some that occur within days of the previous changes) and cancellations without notice so that my time is wasted waiting for instructors that do not show and classes that were rescheduled. In spite of multiple months of complaints regarding these issues, the manager Greg will only discuss how he is performing his job properly (e.g., trying to get the problems fixed) and will refuse to discuss any other type of resolution other than me putting up with the issues. Like I said, I literally only have two months left in my contract and Greg says there is "nothing he can do" because I paid upfront.

Update on 1/12/2016: Since Better Bodies nearby closed, this gym has become much more crowded. Its now pretty common to have to wait for equipment from 4:30-6:30. Overall still a good quality gym. Update on 10/9/2015: I joined this gym in mid December 2014 and so far have been pretty happy. The only time it actually has a fair number of people is immediately after the workday (4:30-6:30) and I still dont find myself waiting for equipment, especially cardio equipment. Equipment is all new and in very good shape. I got locked in at a good rate because they matched the price of a nearby (much worse quality) gym. Locker rooms are excellent with one exception, the sinks have very low water pressure and are sensor activated which is kind of irritating when cleaning a razor while shaving, and they need one more bench in the mens locker room. Showers are fantastic (better than Lifetime Fitness), very clean, good pressure, with soap provided. A few things this gym does not have worth noting: -Free Towels -Pool/Whirlpool -Steam Room (there is a dry sauna) -Basketball or Racquetball courts A few minor improvements that could be made: -Add another water fountain in the workout area, probably next to the dumbells with a water bottle filler. -Add another bench in the mens (and I assume womens) locker rooms -Add channel lineup next to TVs connected to cardio equipment -Replace the sink faucets with higher pressure ones
