Pros: The facility is immaculate. Everywhere you look, there are windows with amazing views out. Good selection of equipment, and all the equipment is all in excellent condition. Also, they offer classes - lots of them. And to finish your workout, you can get a smoothie at a reasonable price. My girlfriend and I always enjoyed getting Josh. He was down to earth and just fun to chat with while we waited for him to make our smoothie. Neutral: The temperature of the gym is a little warm for my liking, but not by much, so not a big deal. If the class rooms they have arent in use, you can use them, but you cant hook up your iPhone to the A/V system in the room to play music. Not a big deal - I understand the equipment is expensive, so you can always just bring a little portable speaker and get almost as good a result. Finally, the weights area is a little small. Not as much equipment as Id like to see (although there is a good selection) and you sometimes find yourself waiting to use specific equipment you need, especially if you go during peak times. Cons: The best workout room (with TRX stations and a wider variety of weights) you arent allowed to use, even if the rooms empty, unless its with a personal trainer you pay for. Memberships a bit expensive (keeps going up so I wont put the price here, but it started over $100/mo when they were doing their opening promotion). But the biggest issue is the vibe and atmosphere most of the staff give off. Dont get me wrong, some of the people there are quite friendly (like Josh), but many just take away our workout energy. My girlfriend was a member (I was her guest and only came a few times) and we noticed that the environment felt more and more draining each time we came. No single thing - just death by 1000 needles. Too much of the staff is aloof and yuppie. The last straw for us was an interaction we had with Brandon. The way he handled things was so draconian (it was less what he said and more the hostile, unfriendly approach he took) that we felt unwelcome to be there and after 10 minutes of working out, we realized we just wanted to get out of there, which is exactly what we did. I have been to dozens of gyms from Denver to Amsterdam and this is the only gym I will never go back to. Fortunately, I have a black card membership at Planet Fitness and there happened to be one just 4 miles away. From the moment we stepped inside the Planet Fitness and interacted with Sandro, we felt welcomed and enjoyed finishing our workout. They had more and better equipment, more space, and it was just a better atmosphere all around.

Review of Union Station When I joined, Tyler, one of the sales reps told me that the club specialized in members like me who are always busy and on the go. He told me that I could come in at any given time and workout without a problem. LIE. BIG LIE. The club is a TRAINER based facility, which means that unless you’re paying a trainer, at $35.00 an hour, you’re not going to get a workout at all. Some of these trainers are AGGRESSIVE. They make it clear to the members that don’t want trainers that they are not wanted. As an example, Patricia, one of the female trainers the second day I joined told me that most of the equipment used had to be used with a trainer present. LIE. BIG LIE. She followed me around to make sure that I wasn’t using equipment that she didn’t want me to use. When I got on one of the machines, Patricia told me to hurry up because she needed it for 3 of her clients who were on the way. MANAGEMENT IS AWARE OF THIS BEHAVIOR AND CONDONES IT. OTHERWISE, WHY IS IT STILL GOING ON? It’s going on because the manager of the location promotes this behavior. NEW MANAGEMENT AND STAFF IS NEEDED. Most of the time I’m there, I’m waiting on the couch by the health bar drinking a protein shake waiting until the trainers see it fit to let me or the other members waiting, workout. I’m now paying over $150.00 a month to join a club that I can’t use. I’m paying an extra $35.00 for the PRIVILEGE of going to another club like Tabor or Monaco to enjoy my membership. I travel to these locations everyday even though I joined the Union Station location. It’s making me so furious that I had to say something about it. Tyler told me to avoid problems at Union Station by getting the all access privilege which meant $35.00. So, now I don’t have to wait for trainers to train and maybe let me workout if they feel like it. Now, I have to travel 30-40 minutes out of my way to get a workout. As I think about it, I’m more furious at all the LIES I’ve been told by these…employees of what seems to be a good club that is in the wrong management hands. Who manages Union Station? Why are trainers and employees allowed to blatantly BULLY those of us who do not want their services? Furthermore, when did lying to get an extra buck become normal as in Tyler’s case? CONS TO THE FACILTY: PROS Bullies. IT’S DOWNTOWN Liars. Money thieves. Can’t work out without a trainer. Trainers are rude and aggressive Did I already mention, Tyler the liar?

Joined the club last year because its super-convenient based on my work location. It can be pretty crowded at times, and the squat platforms are seldom available, but the gym has already committed to adding another platform in the next few months. There are a few things missing (seated calves, jumpropes), but overall a very nice gym. The yoga classes are great, and Ive enjoyed the other classes Ive attended but the times are not a great fit for me personally. A few of the PTs are annoying and condescending, but most are nice. Lashaw and Steve are standouts, as Ive been very impressed with their knowledge and friendly demeanor. My only real complaint as a 40-something old guy is that the music selection is horrendous (think tween girl sleepover in the gym combined with rave/club in the locker room), and to make it worse, plays at least two clicks louder than necessary. My ears ring after workouts because I have to turn my music up so loud to drown out the awfulness. A minor complaint for a great club in a perfect location. Update: Changing review from 4 stars to 5. Not one to believe in coincidences, the music in the Mens locker room magically changed to classic (read oldies) rock and the volume went down a few notches. Absolutely love that the gym actually listens to user suggestions, regardless of whether they should be listened to or not. Spent tens of years lamenting 24 hr fitness lack of customer service and broken equipment, so CACs reception to feedback couldnt be more appreciated. Well done! Update #2: Adding another squat/olympic rack in September based on customer feedback! Thanks for listening to your customers!
