- The facility was really really dirty. The floors, locker rooms, equipment, pool, etc. were all dusty/greasy and smelled of mildew and mold. We were so disgusted we came home and immediately showered. - I expected some variations on this location as it was recently acquired. However, in comparison to pictures listed online of other existing clubs in the area this location needs a major overhaul. It looks like it hasnt been updated since the 70s and has an odd smell that didn’t really facilitate working out. - The spin bikes were mostly broken and were all kept in a back room (Im assuming they are used for classes). This isnt necessarily a problem except we went in to work out in the room and the light was off with everyone working out in the area. We asked several employees to turn the light on- no one ever did. Other individuals working out were unhappy about this but were unable to locate a light switch in the room. - We tried 8 (literally) treadmills which were ALL broken before we finally gave up and went to the pool. Two additional treadmills had signs stating they were out of order. - The pool was literally the most disgusting thing I have ever been in. There was a lot of dirt on the bottom (more than I have ever seen in an outdoor pool much less an indoor pool) and trash (think pieces of Styrofoam cups etc.) in the bottom of the pool. There was also some kind of film on the surface. - The steam room has a really really bad smell. It is very obvious that something unhealthy is growing in it. I couldn’t tell if it was a mold or mildew smell but it was one of the two. I can usually spend about 10 minutes in a steam room just fine. I was in this one for about 2 minutes before I couldnt take the smell anymore. - Locks on locker room changing rooms are all broken. Lockers are very outdated and do not have locks on them. I am happy to bring my own lock, but was not informed I needed one when signing up for the free pass. This was a bit of a hassle. - There was nothing on the floor to clean equipment with. I’ve never been in a gym that didn’t encourage cleaning equipment. Overall, worst expierence I have ever had at a gym.

It never seems to amaze me the amount of negativity with the general population. Why is it that most Americans expect to receive gold for the cost of plastic? The cost of gym memberships, especially here, are much lower than their value. I have been going to the Ballys in Thornton for over a year now. This timeline coincides with all of the negative reviews, yet my experience has been completely different. I have spent the last eighteen years in many different gyms and found this place to be as good, if not better than many of the others. The gym is not filthy like previous reviews stated. Wastebaskets get full now and again, especially during peak times, but that SHOULD be expected with heavy foot traffic. Sure, the bathrooms may be outdated by just a couple of years, but I go there to stay fit. Why should that even matter? And weights being strewn about is never supposed to be the responsibility of the staff. That is the responsibility of the members using them. But people are too damn lazy to put their weights back just like their grocery carts in shopping centers. Anyway, the gym is great, especially if you are actually there to get in shape.

Ive been to this gym three times already. I have two girls one three years old and the other 15 months. The first day was great! The second day i only got to work out for like 25 minutes because my 15 month old was crying. The third day my 15 month old didnt want to stay at the daycare at all. Finally i snuck out without her looking and i started a machine. Seven minutes later i hear to pick up my daughter at the daycare because shes crying. At this point im super mad and stressed out. The daycare lady had the nerve to tell me that if my daughter was sick that she cant attend the daycare. She handed me the sign out paper without me even saying that i was leaving. I signed out and left. I will be back on Monday to file a complaint with the manager and i will never return to this gym again. Maybe my 15 month old daughter wouldnt be sick if they cleaned the toys a little better. They were all full of dust. (disgusting). I do not recommend anyone who has small children to this gym.

This place is crazy, experienced something I could not believe today. I was a member of 24hr fitness a while ago and liked it, recently decided it time to start working out again. Went in to sign up for gym membership today, took a while to get attention of anyone, when i did asked for prices to join and was asked if i was a member, was like no thats why i need to know prices and was like pulling teeth to get amything out of the girl at front counter who frankly was just rude and horrible service appeared uninterested. So basically went in ready to join 24hr fitness, and walked out 5 minutes later feeling really bad and no membership, oh well. After reading all the horrible reviews on this place they seem to all be on point, and glad i didnt join now, it really would not have taken hardly any effort on their part to get me signed up, just dont treat me like im inconveniencing you to sign up, lol, im so sorry to have to have you do your job, lol.

Im a regular member and this is the best location out of the others. The pool has 4 lanes. Other locations have 3. Some have only 2. The hot tub while its the smallest in the area also has the strongest jets in the area. And they clean it every Wednesday. And this week they are renovating the entire room. And Their equipment is top rate although Im mainly there to take laps on the pool. So Ill just go to the 120th location this week and deal with that grumpy man in the steam room that likes the light off lol. And to those that say this place is dirty? Cmon now. Its pretty clean to me. My guess is that many former Bally members like myself were really turned off by the price increase. But I think of it like I have gotten a decent price break all these years. To me the membership price of 30 bucks a month and the ability to go to any 24 hour fitness is still a great deal. And they will become a 24 hour establishment I believe they said by June.

0 stars! Im thankful I canceled my membership. First, I got my membership they charged my card 3 times. Ridiculous! I understand that is human error, but I shouldnt have to deal with that stress of that inconvenience. Then they dont take "no" for an answer when you try to tell them you do not want a personal trainer. Im very busy, and they made me have a free session. They try to pry on your self esteem, but making a big deal about your "weight", even if youre 10-15 pounds over weight. At least youre trying, right? None of their business anyway. It is always crowded. I cant do what I would like to do. I dont get my moneys worth. Crowded with rude people, that make inappropriate racial slurs. That can happen anywhere, but the staff doesnt help you with equipment, they act like it is a burden. Once again, Im glad I am not wasting my money anymore! I like the senior center better, or a local rec center. :-) It is also dirty. I agree.
