Personal trainer - Rachel Review: Ive always been hesitant about having a trainer given the notion that I know how to work out and use the equipment. She has definetly altered my habits just after this one (and not last) session. She was friendly, excited and listened to regular routine and what my goals are. She got my level of experience and on the spot designed an hour long routine for us to go through. The hour flew by - I realized some critical errors in my routine but instead of making me feel bad about it Rachel actually educated me on how the propper technique was and didnt ridicule my original attempts. Trust me I was way off doing things the right way. When we finished up she left me with words of encouragement some goals to reach the next time and overall made me feel empowered. After we where done she moved on to another group which she then explained was group training - I am looking forward to trying that next! Always nice to have others around too haha. I feel in this world of reviews we are quick to jump on and explain the bad - I wanted to give credit and recommend Rachel to anyone trying to get fit and healthy the right way. Have a champion by their side ask for her. Great job and thank you! For the gym itself Ive been coming here for the past few months and I couldnt be happier. Yes there are times when its crowded but be realistic its a gym in the heart of downtown. The best times where its a ghost town here (preference on my end) between 10am and 12pm then between 2pm and 4pm - its mostly empty towards the end of the day too around 7-8pm. The front desk staff has always been friendly, remember my name before presenting them with my card :) the times i have had a legitimate concern its been addressed very quickly by Caitlin who is the primary reason why I joined.

The locker rooms are always packed, I have to stand sometimes and wait for people to finish changing. There is also waiting for showers. The yoga classes are always over packed , you have to get there 10 minutes early to get a spot or you will not get a spot, or try to cram into a section where you have to watch out not to kick someone in the face. Additionally, the yoga classes are not always heated which I prefer heated. One of the instructors tried to pop my pack after a yoga class and he hurt my back. It hurt for like for a whole week. After that I started rejecting his back popping skills. There was this one time the jacuzzi was not working for a over a month completely threw my whole routine off. Towards the end I did not want to even attend since it left an awful taste in my mouth. I had an account for over 1 year since I did the contract. I tried to cancel a few times but they need you to sign a paper and do some paper work. It makes it a little harder to cancel. I forgot about that and I ended having the account for 3 more months since I never got around to it. Paid 3 months for not using my account, told them to do something about it and they said "NO" we want our money. I regret it. For $100 a month this place is not worth it. I think I will go back to 24 hours after this experience. I dont know, I have to see my options.

I just joined this gym last week and have been everyday since. Ryan Piemeisl, a membership representative, is a friendly guy, gave a nice tour of the facility, and gave options to join, no pressure. I joined that day. For the location, type of facility, and amenities, it is worth every penny. I have been a member to dozens of gyms over the last 10 years. I have no idea why people are complaining about this place. It is an awesome gym and all the staff have been great! The place just makes you feel like you want to get in shape and go every day. There is something for everyone. The gym is pretty spacious and has absolutely everything you could want. 4 separate Classrooms for all the different group classes they have. Does it get a little busy at 5pm? Sure, every gym does. But its not shoulder to shoulder like I thought it was going to be. Get off your high horse and making up every excuse as to why the the place isnt perfect and why you shouldnt join. Give me a break, psshh. I thoroughly enjoy coming here everyday. Oh the membership is too much money? Keep telling yourself that. See you at starbucks for your half-ass-fatty-mocha-latte with an extra shot of excuses with one pump of laziness for $6 bucks a day... Priorities.

Great gym with great location. Downstairs parking is convenient and free if after hours and on weekends. The staff has always been polite, professional and courteous with me. I think if you smile and treat them with respect youll get more than your share back. Much better staff than at a meat market like Ballys or 24 hours. Talking about the latter, now those are gross places where between the crabs in the locker room and bodily fluids on the machines you really cant have a good time. But CAC is definitely several levels up. The locker rooms are generally clean and well-stocked with fresh towels, shaving and grooming stuff, and nice wooden lockers. Sure it can get crowded during the 5pm and early morning crowds, but you just have to shift your time by about an hour. The equipment is great and fellow exercisers courteous. The tabor center view and ambience cant be beat. Reminds me of a resort-gym down in Cancun. Other amenities: filtered water dispenser for your bottle, equipment wipes, really comfy waiting area with couches, chairs, and a well-stocked snack bar, the HOTTEST steam room in town, and a hard working staff. Complaints are just not warranted. Sorry.

Used to work/be a member at the Monaco location. Compared to the downtown locations, Monaco is a joke! I joined the Tabor center because I ended up getting a job downtown and it was the right move!! Ill be a part of the grand opening of the Union Station club thats for sure. The locker rooms are phenomenal, you sure pay for what you get. Overall the facility is pretty clean and theres plenty of options for people of all fitness levels. Very spacious club, which is pretty deceiving from the outside. The staff is courteous and professional most of the time and theres a beautiful seating area with comfortable chairs for me to catch up on a few emails before heading back to work or home for the day. It does get crowded at peak hours (duh), so Ive adjusted my schedule to avoid these crowds and its been perfect! Some may think its overpriced, but like I said, you really get what you pay for and all the extra treats will keep you coming back!! Isnt that the point of having a gym membership! Actually using it?? Cant wait for Union Station to open in March. Highly recommend the CAC

Poor Customer Service; poor management. Classic Bait and Switch tactics. Beware this gyms unscrupulous business practices. I joined the CAC with the promise of a $200 gym credit that I was promised could be used on any of the gym amenities. Since then, theyve gone to such great lengths to prevent me from using my gym credit that I just had to cancel and leave their gym credit on the table. After joining, I had to fight for them to actually apply the credit on my account. Then I had to fight to get it reapplied after they expired it without telling me. Then after they didnt like me using the credit at the cafe they told me I would only be able to use the credit for Pilates from then on. Theyve even tried secretly charging my credit card instead of using gym credits. The general manager wont respond to my concerns. Just had to pay for an entire additional month before they let me quit and now Im free. Be warned.
